Yal! I cannot even explain how deliciously delectable the food is here! Even if you, like me, are not a "foodie" and are not technically vegetarian or vegan, you will absolutely enjoy your meal. I usually get the Crowder Bowl (subbing out the tofu because well, yuck) and I'm always quite pleased with it. But on my last visit, I decided to take a chance on the featured buffalo cauliflower and chickpea tacos with kale slaw and vegan cream. Yal! YAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH. EMMMMM. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. I cannot even begin to explain to you how amazing this tasted. The pictures speak for themselves, but let's just say that this was one of the best vegan dishes I've ever had in this entire city. A veritable feast for the eyes and the taste buds alike. If you ever see this dish on the Specials board, run don't walk to be next in line to try it. It is mmmmm, mmmmmm good!!!

Cauliflower steak salad with no rice

I'll start with the good things: 1. Free and easy parking. 2. Healthy fast food. 3. Healthy inexpensive food, which can be a tough thing to find! 4. Large portions And now the bad: 1. If you want anything to drink besides ginger kombucha or raw juice you will need to pay for your meal and find what you want in the store and get into the grocery line to for it. If you're on your lunch break and pressed for time as I was this can be a little nerve wracking. 2. Very limited menu options for food. I eat paleo and there was nothing on the menu that was paleo friendly, unless you just wanted to drink juice. Everything has grains and there is a lot of tofu. I wound up ordering the cauliflower steak with no rice and extra spinach but was sad when I saw it get covered in probably a solid cup of dressing. It would have been AWESOME if there were an option to simply build your own salad. It was a tasty dish though so I'll give it that.

This cafe attached to the MOM's Organic Market is delicious, affordable and all organic. Any of the bowls you order are $8.75, which is a steal for all organic! They have great choices with pre-made mixes that have flavors that are somewhat Asian, Mexican and the like. What's more fun is making your own bowl with choices like kale and spinach for your base, and toppings like green onions, avocado, tomatoes, bell peppers, raw cashews, cucumbers, celery, carrots, beets, cauliflower, sprouts, mushrooms, red onions, etc. So good! They have delicious juices that are also super affordable like Green Tea Glory and Pink Lady. Here, they also have specials like yams with toppings or roasted cauliflower 'steaks', etc. those depend on seasonal produce. They also have in-house made muffins, frozen yogurt and soups. Because it's all vegetarian, it's pretty easy to identify if you can or cannot eat it based on wheat or dairy restrictions. If you are not sure, just ask! The food is in compostable containers, and the forks and utensils are also compostable. If you eat it in the store, there is plenty of seating!

I came here for lunch with a coworker! We were genuinely surprised by their variety of choices!!! I got the Lin bowl which was delicious. The seaweed and kimchi really added flavor to the whole meal. My colleague got Hannah Bowl which wasn't steamed but the corn and onion added really good sharp flavor to it too! We will be definitely coming back to try to juices.

Wow blown away by this place. First time here and I got the sushi bowl. It was cheap ($8.75) and extremely generous. The counter staff were incredibly nice and suggest alternatives we might like. I am definitely coming back frequently. Definitely recommend and I'm a stickler for 5 stars

    Cauliflower Steak. Yummmmmy!

Quite frankly the best steak I've ever had! A cauliflower steak;). Roasted and seasoned to perfection. The servers were so very patient and proficient. And the lady doing the pressed juices was delightful. Feeling good right now that I fed my body right. Got it to go but next time I'll try to sit and enjoy. Whether you're vegan or not you will enjoy the selection prepared to your liking at Naked Lunch.

While I was hungry, my objective was to earn points more than to satisfy a craving. This place is inside the Whole Foods in Navy Yard, which made it a tad confusing to find. Before I ordered, I asked the person who worked there what her favorite burger was. She looked at me and said she doesn't eat here. Haha. I ordered a cheeseburger. It took longer than I think a cheeseburger should, but I suppose I should be happy they make things as they are ordered. I paid for my burger, paid for my groceries, and then ate at the dining area in Whole Foods. The burger was fine. It didn't blow my mind away but I wouldn't say it was bad either. I think the "fake meat" industry has already peaked and while more people are becoming vegetarians and vegans, people are questioning the artificial flavors and chemicals that go into lab-grown meat and everyone is questioning the higher price for these items relative to actual meat. Already, the Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods brands are struggling. All this to say, it was a decent meal but I don't know if I'd go out of my way for this again. If I'm going to have a burger, I prefer real meat.

Here's how I see it:…read more MITA delivered a dining experience that felt thoughtful from the first course to the final spoonful. As someone who does not typically gravitate toward vegetarian/vegan menus, the meal felt especially fresh and quietly innovative--proof that vegetable-forward cuisine, when handled with this level of intent, can be just as compelling, layered, and satisfying as any traditional tasting menu. Opting for the Camino Corto menu proved to be a well-judged choice. Paired with the supplemental arepas, it offered a generous and satisfying progression without ever feeling heavy. The arepas--served with guasacaca, cashew sour cream, and chontaduro butter--were an excellent addition, setting a warm, flavorful tone and easily standing as a highlight on their own. From there, the menu unfolded with precision and clarity. The picaron with persimmon, lúcuma, and huacatay was playful yet composed. The arracacha with fava beans, plantain, and mushroom dashi brought depth and umami-driven warmth, while the watermelon ceviche with white soy, cilantro, and quinoa delivered brightness and balance. The malanga course offered satisfyingly to-the-perfect point chewy texture, and the arroz con gandules--pigeon peas, sofrito, and sea beans--managed to feel both comforting and refined, a balance not easily achieved. Dessert, a modern bienmesabe with coconut sponge, coconut praline, and pineapple sorbet, closed the meal with elegance and lift. What stood out most was how seamlessly the kitchen elevated vegetables beyond expectation--never as substitutes, but as the main event. Each dish felt intentional, expressive, and complete. Service mirrored the cuisine in its composure and warmth: attentive without intrusion, polished without stiffness. There is a quiet confidence throughout MITA that allows guests to settle in and fully engage with the experience. This is the kind of restaurant that shifts perspective--where even a dedicated omnivore leaves not missing anything, but instead discovering something new. Respect to the chefs and the entire team for a meal that was both elegant and deeply satisfying.

Because it was a set prix-fixe that wasn't posted publicly beforehand, it felt like a bit of a gamble, and unfortunately, it didn't pay off for my group. There was very little room for accommodating dietary preferences, which was surprising for a vegetable-forward concept. It would have helped if they had made the menu public so we knew what to expect before sitting down. The Malanga Gnocchi was a letdown. As a main course, it felt uninspired and lacked the "wow" factor I expected from a place with this reputation. Overall, I felt the dishes could have been much more inventive. For a Michelin-level spot, the flavors felt a bit safe and didn't showcase the full potential of plant-based Latin cuisine. The service remains attentive and the space is beautiful, but for the price point, I wanted more.

I went to the Mount Rainier location and ordered the drum plate with mac and cheese and collard greens; and I'm not exaggerating when I say this might be the best vegan soul food in the area. The drums were crispy with a one of one batter; I have never tasted anything like that before. Crunch on the outside, seasoned through, not greasy, just right. The mac and cheese redefined vegan; creamy, flavorful, and comforting without trying to imitate anything. It stood on its own. The collard greens took me straight back home; tender, seasoned properly, and full of soul. I also tried the ribs; and they were so good they honestly do not even need promotion. This is not good for vegan. This is just good. If you are in the DC area and craving real comfort food done plant based; Dodah's Kitchen needs to be on your list.

On the side, I added a Garlic Naan. We were looking for a quick meal. SpiceX delivered a good amount of flavor at fast food speeds. If you're looking for a sit-down experience, this location is at a bit of a disadvantage since all of these components are put into a plastic tray, everything is intermingling, and it looks like a mess. They only have plastic forks and knives (no spoons) which makes it hard to eat these saucy dishes. Lastly, since a lot of things are pre-made, they're not super hot and they don't adjust the spice level. My favorite thing about naan is it tastes like fresh bread from the oven, which you don't get here. Everything is very mild, and we normally get dishes mild to medium in heat level. If you can get past all that, I think all the flavors are pretty good and the price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
