Yesterday, I had an appointment for a cut (a medium bob) and color (an ombre with blonde ends). The cut was fine, although it wasn't really styled so it wound up flat. But the color job...that was bad. A very lopsided ombre (which took about 3 hours to achieve). The right side looked fine and the blonde came up about 4 inches, but the left only about 2 inches. The stylist said that's how ombres are supposed to look. I told her that I had gotten them for the past 2 years by a different stylist/salon and they were always even, and that pictures online were always even. She said that she does it freehand so there's no way to know how it'll turn out until she's done. I was uncomfortable about it but headed to the checkout counter anyway. But then I started thinking that if I left I was just gonna be upset when I got home so I decided to ask if she could try to fix it. (She had told me I was the only client she had until her shift was over and I knew no one else was waiting for a hair cut.) She seemed irritated but tried for the next hour. It looked even WORSE. Now, the left side was about 6 inches high and there were splotches of dark color all over. I told her that it was worse and she's like "Are you serious?!" stormed off, sent in the owner of the salon, the owner comes and stands two feet in front of me, and aggressively says... "This stylist just spent all afternoon trying to make you happy. This is what an ombre is supposed to look like. What you're thinking is highlights. It looks fine..." I said "Ok, I'm pregnant and very uncomfortable with how you are talking to me. I am not being rude, I am just unhappy with how it looks, and I'm not going to hold my opinion in and just cry when I get home. I know you guys can tell that this doesn't look right. It's very obvious." The owner started up again and I had to stop her and ask her to leave, said I only wanted to deal with the stylist because she was at least more calm with me about the situation. So she left and the stylist tried one more time to fix it. 30 minutes later, it still looks bad but better than it did the second time so I said it's fine just so I could leave. I was shaking and so uncomfortable, trying not to cry. It just wasn't worth it to me to stress out even more. So I paid the $100 and even tipped the stylist for her time and then left. I will never go back and I will tell all of my friends and family about my horrible experience I had at Naked Sun. After I posted my review to my facebook page about an hour ago, some of my local friends had commented: "Oh honey, if I knew you were going there, I would have stopped you before you even called. I worked there and cried every day I had to work. Jodi and her daughter Mary run it and they are AWFUL to their employees, rude to customers, and care about one thing... money. I am a past client, and I will never go back again. If you leave Naked Sun a negative review, they will contact you and bully you into taking it down. They will mention cyber bullying and threaten to call the cops. They have been known to call repeatedly, stalk, and even show up at people's houses. Here are what some local people are saying about Naked Sun: "I too was treated badly and being talked about all over town ~ they don't care about the employees either and my stylist is no longer my friend because of the owners ~ it's really quite sad" "I've had a bad experience there too!! I've been going to naked sun for two years now for my beauty services, I have 4 kids that go there, and my husband also goes there. The first time I went I was pleasantly surprised to see all this awesome merchandise like clothes, jewelry, hair, skin, teeth whitening, and makeup products, etc.. it was immediately my new place to buy sunglasses for sure. I've had cuts, ombres, all over color, and color put on my tips. I get my chip free mani/pedi's there and one of my favorite things to do is go on Pinterest and pick out my new nail style! I've never had to request anyone whoever my appointment was with was always great. This was especially important to me because I have a real, ligit, fear of getting my hair done by other people, because of problems I had in the past with other salons. The girls know because I tell them every time, "I'm scared" and they always talk me through it, and I always feel like a rock star when I leave and can't wait to go play with my hair. When I started going to naked sun, I thought this is a place I would be proud to work in, but at the time I was a stay at home mom. Now, as an employee at Naked Sun, for a year and 1/2 now, I feel like my dreams have come true! I've never worked with people that were so understanding, dedicated, and committed to each other. I'm really grateful. The stylists, estheticians, massage therapist, and even the desk staff have to go through regular training to keep up with liscencing, the latest styles, techniques, and products. What's nice about that is they, and I, want to do those things to keep our clients happy, and also when I go to get my services done I know I'm getting a real professional who knows there stuff and it gives me peace of mind. I have been a client of Naked Sun for 8 years. My kids also come here for haircuts and I bring my daughter on special occasions to get her Princess Package (mani/pedi for little ones). In all of my years here, I have ALWAYS been treated with the utmost respect! The girls always do a fabulous job on my hair, no matter how many times I want to change the color, and nails, no matter how crazy I want the nail art. They have bent over backwards to accommodate my schedule to get me an appointment when it worked for me. Nobody else does that!! Additionally, my son has an extremely difficult time with getting his hair cut. Heather and Alyssa take extra time with him and have incredible patience to help him have a positive and successful haircut experience. Why was my review deleted? It appears that only bad reviews are left up? Mine and another girl who had both left positive reviews, saying the TRUTH on how well the people at this spa treat you were both deleted, yet all the bad reviews people have left on here are not deleted.. I don't see how that is fair or right. Basicly people can get on here and LIE bashing people at this shop, yet those who do not work here and are not related to people at this spa can not leave HONEST reviews saying how well we were treated and hiw good the services were.. so basicly I need to give 1 star, and then say how well I was treated with only 1 star and it'll be left up because it will appear to be a negative review.. The girls at this salon are amazing and talented people. Everyone is super friendly and put 100% into all they do. The owners treat their employees like family and are constantly providing continuing education to each of their employees. Plus they give back to the community constantly. I've never gotten a service done there that I didn't fully love. When I moved to this area and was given an opportunity to work here I jumped on it, and it is one of the best things that has ever happened to me. I didn't just get a new job. I got a second family. I am a male tanner and this has been my first experience tanning. The staff were very helpful and very sweet. they answered all my questions, even the silly ones, and I learned a lot about the process.
