Well I was in town for a few days and really wanted some great Mexican food although most likely made-from-scratch homemade it was very disappointing. My carne asada burrito was 90% rice..., okay maybe 85% but you get my drift.... Although I would like to try their tacos I'm hesitant to return

Stopped in for a quick bite of lunch. At the time, I was the only person there, but one other came in as I was being served. I had the 3 tacos plate, Mexican style. Very good. This is a smallish place. with only 5-6 tables. The server is also the cook. I will come again with the family. read more

Piling on with the stars. Ordered one each of chicken, steak, pork tacos plus a revuelta pupusa. Tacos came artfully arranged with generous helpings of meat full of flavor. Pupusa also delicious and perfect texture. That and chips and salsa was just a bit too much food. I will almost certainly eat breakfast or (and?!) lunch here tomorrow. This was surprisingly wonderful. At first glance the outside appears like a small renovated home but once our food came we were very satisfied. This very much reminded me of my childhood and an aunt making a homemade meal. There was only one cook who also served the meal but the service was pleasant and timely. We all speak the truth, this place is amazing. The food is great, we should of ordered each something different in hindsight but didn't. . We had ordered the 3 beef enchiladas, the seasoned beef is perfect. So good. Great green sauce and well priced. Definitely worth the stop! read more

I'd drive over an hour, maybe two, to come to this place. It is so darn good. As someone who grew up and lived in Texas, Arizona, and California, I know and love Mexican food. This is the real deal. Fresh and tasty. I'm lactose intolerant but I could eat a giant burrito because it was all cooked well and fresh. And authentic Mexican doesn't have a pound of cheese on every plate! The owner is a lovely lady. I wish she could move in with us!! read more

Super good food! If you are traveling along I-70 and want something really good for lunch look no further. Our family got the quesadillas and taquitos they were both some of the best food I have had in a long time. Everything from the salsa to food was super flavor full! All was downed by a real Coke! read more

This is an amazing little hole in the wall Mexican and Salvadorian restaurant. We had the Papusaa and taquitos and both were excellent. The papusas really reminded me of the ones I had in El Salvador, so they are genuine and well done. The food is all really fresh including the rice and beans which is very impressive for a Mexican restaurant. If you are heading west on 70 and looking for lunch or dinner there is no need to wait for grand junction, just stop here as it is truly a gem read more

What a gem of a place. We stopped on the way to Denver and enjoyed the huevos rancheros and three taco plate. Both were excellent. The ranchero sauce was amazing as were both the red and green salsa. The beans were different but delicious with a nice porky flavor. We will be back. read more

We were passing through at lunchtime and just happened to stop in. If you want a lunch made with love and care and a good conversation, this is the place. Homemade flour tortillas, shredded beef was so flavorful on my sons burrito. We got the pupusas with soft tasty outsides and flavorful insides. Would strongly recommend this place. read more

Amazing and totally unexpected. We are from Denver and ironically have a difficult time finding Mexican food this good. Food made from scratch and better than the pictures do justice. The cook/server was helpful and friendly in this little roadside gem. We hope it stays around so we can visit again. Found this place on Yelp when we were passing through on a cross-country roadtrip. It is a tiny hole in the wall with tasty food and a friendly owner! We were the only ones in there and had a nice chat with him. Solid selection of typical Mexican dishes and reasonably priced. The eggs were lukewarm and the top pancake was cold. What do you do? On the other hand, I got three slices of bacon. The bacon wasn't good enough to eat all three. Soft drinks tasted weird, like off-brand but we were told they were Pepsi products. We were just driving through so I don't know what, if any other options were available.They have a booming business and I'm not sure why. It may be the only game in town. We live in Silt, but were moving my parents into their new residence in Battlement Mesa and we were ready for a good Mexican meal. Not being familiar with the eateries in Parachute, my son jumped onto the internet and discovered Yelp's 5 star rating for Nalina's Restaurant on 1st Street, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in around 3:45pm and were greeted by the very friendly Victor - the head cook. He explained the menu to us and answered our questions, took our order and served our drinks. My father and I ordered the chile rellenos, my mother had the chicken taquitos, and my wife and son each had the veggie fajitas. We enjoyed our bevarages and warm, restaurant-style (not consumer bag-style) tortilla chips and excellent salsa while we waited for our meal. The building is tiny, clean, and warm feeling, and since we had come between lunch and dinner, we had the whole dining room to ourselves. There was no loud music playing so we were able to have a nice conversation, and Victor even asked if we would like some music which we declined. Within 15 minutes, Victor began serving our meals. The presentation was great and the food was top notch, particularly for such a little, out of the way, home-style Mexican restaurant. Thanks you Victor for a great meal and really nice experience. We were on our way from Moab, UT to Littleton, CO. We decided to stop by Parachute, CO to fill up gas and to get something to eat. Parachute is a very tiny town and by accident we spotted Nalini's restaurant. Initially we were a little skeptical about eating at a small restaurant in a very small town. Though it is small Nalini's has a family restaurant feel. We walked into Nalini's and were warmly greeted by a lady and I think her son who run the restaurant. They were the most friendliest and warmest people we have ever seen running a restaurant. They explained to us about the Salvadorian/Mexican food and also about how they came to own the restuarant. We ordered some papusas, some platano frito, and some vegetarian quesadillas. The food was unique and excellent. We also ordered the cucumber/mint drink which was so good to drink on a hot day. Parachute, CO is in the middle of nowhere on interstate I-70, Nalini's is a hidden gem in Parachute. Next time you are on I-70 near Parachute, make it a point to visit Nalini's. You will be pleasantly surprised. They take the time to come and talk to you while you are eating as if you are part of their family. It takes all the stress out of a long drive. read more

On our way thru to Denver, had randomly picked Parachute as the place to stop. So very glad to be referred to Nalini's by a neighboring business. Food was excellent, with one ordering taco plate with steak, chicken, and shrimp, while I got the out-of-this world carne asada. We found this little place by accident. Let's just say we were blessed by this accident. We had been traveling with two little ones and need a place to relax a little and let little legs move about. They were friendly and inviting. The food was outstanding and very generous portions. They were very accommodating and friendly. We will definitely stop there again!!! read more

Talk about homemade food! It's great! Everything is made fresh. It's like going to my Mexican friend's house and they make me dinner. They even ask how I want things cooked and what I want in the entree. The location is quaint, quiet, and clean...again like a friend's home. Nalini's is amazing! Huevos a la Mexicana and the huevos rancheros for breakfast! Half price taco Tuesday and the fish tacos with the southwest sauce are the best! My wife loves the chile rellenos and the tres leches cake! I love the friendly staff! I am not exaggerating when I say Nalini's could be my favorite restaurant! read more

This place is great. There is a bit of a gap in service as the young man has to do a lot of translation with the woman there, but it doesn't affect the food! Food is cooked to order and served as it is finished so you don't necessarily get your food all at once if you have a party of more than a couple folks. read more

Had dinner here tonight with our family and loved every minute of it! We had shrimp enchiladas with green chili sauce, pupusas, the Saturday night special beef soup, flan, and our kids' new favorite beverage, homemade horchata. Incredible! Went in for a late lunch and had excellent service from the start. The owner made me something special and not on the menu when I described what I wanted. It was made from scratch, delicious, fairly priced and served on an appealing and generously sized plate. Go here if you're nearby! read more

Great delicious food! I stopped by here on my way through town. Got two pupusas with cheese (get the vegetables, like a pickled coleslaw) and plantanos fritos with bean and sour cream. All was really tasty. Never had salvadorian food before but it made me feel right at home!! read more

Amazing food for an awesome price! I had it two nights in a row after finding out the first night I went that Tuesday was $1.50 tacos for taco Tuesday. Everything right down to the salsa was amazing! Definitely the best thing Parachute has to offer. read more
