Love the shop! Marie and her family are awesome... I love the fact that it's a family owned and operated business... And when you come in they make you feel like you're part of the family... I like going there and just hanging out and talking about the events that are going on in the community and it makes me feel more like I'm a part of something that affects my neighborhood directly.. There's something for everyone... And if you can't find it, they can get it for you! I'm so glad that they exist on Main Street in Bay Shore ... it gives the summer vibe all year round and they carry a wide array of winter sports clothes and accessories! Aloha Nalu! Mahalos!

This shop is so cute! It's super close to where I'm atttttt like all of the time... they have the best bathing suits, no seriously... I don't think I've ever come in here and walked out with out a bathing suit or something. I have three bathing suits from this brand, Ahe. They are soo skimpy but hold up so well! I have this beautiful baby blue one that I've received so many compliments on! And the one that I've posted is FIRE. I go away a lot and love having a variety of bikinis on board when I do. They are def On the more fair side costs wise too (and always weirdly sold out on their website). Anyway, they also offer all of your well known brands that you would see in any other surf shop. They also have a ton of snowboarding brands, accessories and warm winter clothes for this time of year. Business owner is super friendly! They really have some great picks in here ranging from bikinis, cover ups, beach pants to snow pants, heavy coats and surf and snow boards. Very Long Island, I support! read more

I genuinely wanted to support a local business, but this place made me regret it instantly. I spent nearly $200 on two sweaters, and they are some of the worst-quality clothing I've ever purchased. The sizing is laughably off -- not even close to standard -- and feels like it was guessed instead of measured. The material is cheap, thin, and poorly made, yet they price everything like it's premium streetwear. It's not. At all. To make it worse, they don't offer refunds, so once you realize how bad the quality and sizing are, you're just stuck eating the cost. Supporting local shouldn't mean getting ripped off. Overpriced, low-quality products, inaccurate sizing, and a customer-hostile return policy. I'm now out $200 with two sweaters I won't wear. Save your money and shop elsewhere. read more

Stopped into Nalu today to purchase a gift for a friend and I can't say enough good things about this business. The owner was amazing she helped us pick out some gifts and even threw in a free item for spending over $100! I highly suggest going to Nalu it was a great experience! read more

Nalu Dry Goods is one of my favorite places to shop. It's a mom & pop shop, that stocks very unique & cool clothing designs, with a great set of staff to help you finalize your decision. They offer a great selection of surf, skate, & swinware apparel & accessories. Absolutely love them. read more

Was a big fan of the first location and this second one is even better! The selection of items is ridiculous and the workers offer excellent suggestions. I love this surf shop and the owner- so glad they're successful and moved to a bigger store. Find beach-vibe clothing and accessories, perfect for the south shore. They offer unique items like bamboo watches and organic chapsticks. They also fix surf gear. Only reason for less than perfect is that the prices are somewhat high, although average for the name brands offered here. However, I am willing to pay more to support small business. Especially when you you find such wonderful customer service- friendly, personable, and not at all pushy. I heard they offer free Eco-friendly gift wrapping as well. read more

Working in the area I've been trying to find the time to get in, see what they had and hopefully get a swimsuit for my vaca next week. To my surprise when I walked up to the door there was a note on the door at 3pm that said 'Out to lunch -be back soon' as well as a gentleman waiting outside asking me if I was an employee (Waiting for the store to reopen). We joked about the situation for a brief moment when a girl walked over with a bag in hand. The gentleman asked her if she was opening the store and she replied 'Well I have another 20 minutes left on my lunch break but if you need to get in..' and looked annoyed. To end the story I left and I have no clue if the other potential customer left but talk about poor business. A Thursday afternoon in July and no one interested in making not 1 but 2 potential sales. Was pleased to find this surf shop on my way out to fire island with my family. I needed a nice pair of sunglasses and they had a big selection. Worker was super helpful. I ended up buying the glasses and a few shirts for myself and trunks for my little grom....way cheaper than things on FI also. Glad i stopped there first. read more

Established in 2013.

Early in 2013, Nalu Dry Goods was established. Our first location was at beautiful and cozy 137 E Main St. Bay Shore. A year later, prayers were answered and we moved to a bigger, more central location at 2 W Main St. Bay Shore. Next stop was 4E Main St. Bay Shore and also Main St Huntington NY. Our current location is 100 W Main St. Bay Shore NY 11706.

Meet the Business Owner: Marie F.

I thank God for His many blessings I see and for the ones I'm too oblivious to see. - MF The owner was born and raised in Honolulu and moved to NY to attend FIT. She was inspired to open Nalu Dry Goods by her childhood surf shops in Hawaii such as Town and Country Surf tcsurf.com as well as fashion boutiques in Hawaii and New York. She specializes in bikinis, swimwear, and men's board shorts. She interned and worked in the beautiful Malia Mills swimwear boutique in NYC, did a college stint at Ralph Lauren's Mansion on Madison Ave, was a sales rep for Hurley, Ocean Pacific, and Roxy and worked at the Gap international franchise division. Co-owner, Chris was born and raised in Bay Shore and has been a local DJ, has mixed/mastered music for local bands and music by artists such as Sean Paul. He does studio and on-site fashion photos shoots for Nalu as well as portraits for music albums. Manager Mike has been instrumental in marketing and crafting in-store build-outs.

Fast forward to today, I get to Caroline's a little after 930, imagine my surprise when the woman behidn the counter tells me not only are the baskets not ready, they won't be ready for at least 2 hours. This isn't what upset me, listen I understand that things happen. What is insanely unprofessional is the fact that I arrived at my office about 7 minutes from Caroline's and she is on the phone with my coworker saying the baskets are ready. I was not told to wait for them, I was told they would need TWO MORE HOURS. I had to spend most of my day running around in circles back and forth when all of this could have been avoided if she asked me to wait 10 more minutes. I am extremely unhappy with the service and unfortunately I don't think I'll be choosing Caroline's anymore.

Apparently the hiring process at Nalu Dry Goods doesn't even include googling an employee's name to make sure they aren't a violent malcontent. Currently, Nicholas Patrikis is a salesman at the store. Nicholas Patrikis kills a family's pet, terrorizes school children, threatens people's lives...and just a few months later is selling you wares at Nalu Dry Goods! Stay far, far away from this store especially if you are with a loved one. And ESPECIALLY don't come here if you are out walking your dog! That lunatic that tortured the cat in Chicago just got 3 years in prison, and he had the decency to not even kill the cat! DO NOT LET THIS SICKO NEAR YOUR LOVED ONES. I find it laughable that you call yourself a "Surf" shop yet have no real surfboards. Does the owner even know anything about surfing? What a joke.
