Food is phenomenal. I had the chole samosa chaat (very good, 4/5) and the green lamb curry (top notch, amazing flavour and meat is tenderly cooked 5/5). Portions were generous for quite reasonable prices. Ambiance is casual though on the nicer end for authentic ethnic cuisine. Service is polite although on the slow side. Was not expecting a classy restaurant with interesting glass sculptures and moody lighting to greet us upon entry, but we were pleasantly surprised. The two of us were seated right away in a booth. Mango lassi was really delicious, and we shared palak paneer and veggie korma. Both were tasty, but also I found them to be quite salty. The korma was different from what I've had elsewhere, and I didn't find any of the advertised cashews in it. Spice level is not to be treated lightly. I just had a delivered meal to the Fairfield Marriott. Outstanding, the food was hot I could order what type of hot I wanted was just the right spicy at number two. I had some lovely Nan bread, chicken curry, and some tandoori shrimp. Lots of food, but I hate it all great delivery process great food you should really try it. read more

I had to ask myself, was I so impressed because the food was so good this far out of the Lower Mainland or was it just right impressive. Living in and close to Surrey all my life, I have had my share of authentic Indian cuisine and Namaste stands with the best of them!! Right from the exterior and interior decor to the smells that great you as soon as you enter, we knew we were in for a treat. After a warm welcome and prompt seating, our order was placed moments later. First, a couple of India brews for my colleague and myself and a salted lassi for my partner paired with a plate of Paneer Fingers. Delish!! then the mains: Coconut Fish, Lamb Roganjosh, Chicken V, saffron rice (yum) with Naan and a bowl of Raita with Aloo Parantha (a must try). Biggest regret? I was so overwhelmed by the smells and visual presentation, I forgot to take pics. The food and service was prompt and the servers were super friendly and generously shared of their culture and food knowledge. I was very impressed with the end cost. When the bill came, we had to take turns checking that they hadn't missed anything. Namaste will now be my regular landing spot when I come to town. read more

I have been here three different times and 2/3 I have been disappointed with the service. I ordered take out and everything was great until I drove 15 mins home, unpacked all of the food and realized they forgot my meal (I'm a vegan because I have stomach issues) so I called and explained that my meal had been forgotten, the lady on the phone apologized and told me that the owner had offered to drive my food out to my house. I waited an hour and then called back and the lady on the phone told me that the owner couldn't find my house and had her young child in the car so she had to return to the restaurant. I did not receive a phone call from the woman bringing me the food, the lady on the phone even told me that she had given my number to the other lady. I was quite upset at the point, the lady said they would either give me a refund if I drove back to the store or they could give me $20 off the next time I placed an order. I was not going to go back to town that day so I took the other option, she took down my name, phone number and apologized again for the messy situation. I go back into the restaurant yesterday, explain the the lady there the situation that happened previously and she tells me she's sorry but she can't do that, was very rude which was uncalled for. I'm very upset and will not be returning to this restaurant. There's better places with better service in this town, them being the newest addition I thought I'd test it out..... read more

Convince NO, before ordering ask if they have cutlery. Even ordering from a hotel they dont tell you that they dont have cutlery. 20-25 minutes they said, after 1 hour we called back and were dismissed saying its on its way, any minute. 25 minutes later called back and were told that it was missed and they would remake it, 15 minutes. 25 minutes later very apologetic delivery driver came and gave a discount. Ok. So we sit down to eat, our very messy meal with out cutlery and get to the 1 item that must be eaten hot, calamari.. $9.95, the tiniest portion and greasy mess with what tasted like tarar sauce on the side. My husband and I tried this restaurant out on a Friday evening. I think it was after 7 pm. We tried out a few dishes! For an appie we had the butter chicken poutine and the veggie pakoras! Omg these were amazing! This wasn't some NYF poutine, this was absolutely delicious! The pakora was another treat!!! We then ordered the butter chicken and the lamb rogan josh! I think they were a little worried about us having much spice as they kept asking if we wanted it mild! It was great but I think next time I will go for more spice! We had this with rice but my husband ordered the garlic naan.... He said it wasn't the best he had but the rest of the food was great! The one thing that made me really happy was all the GF choices! I am celiac which makes going out to eat very difficult! I had zero issues with that disease eating here and for that I am extremely grateful!!!! read more

Had an early dinner here today and it was excellent. Tried the veggie pakoras, lamb rogan josh and prawn curry. The pakoras were perfectly crispy and the lamb and prawns were also cooked just right. The service was great and they have some really good local beer on tap. Will definitely go back next time I'm in town. read more

Dropped in there with a friend after playing a round of golf. First impression was positive as it smelled really good. Ordered an appetizer and waited and waited. When the server started putting the dinner plates down I asked her about the appy. She said she forgot to put it in and would place the order immediately. Told her it was too late as we were about to get our meals. When the meals finally arrived we both agreed that the food was about a 4 out of 10. Bland and nowhere near the spicy level we had asked for. Not only that the garlic naan we ordered was just a rather thin regular naan with garlic butter spread on it. *Note*. My buddy and I often meet for Indian food in the Vancouver area and know what it should all taste like. I noticed a few people waiting for take-out. They were there an extraordinarily long time. To sum it up, great food, but very slow service. If you have a schedule to keep, I'd avoid the place. In the chance you don't mind waiting, the food can be great. Namaste has a large selection of Indian foods from butter chicken to more exotic foods that are actually from India. I can't say I've had anything here I did not like. In a town where the food doesn't get to exotic, it's a unique fixture that definitely holds its place. The black mark on this otherwise good restaurant is the service. If it's not busy, service can be timely, but once it starts to become busy, even just for a regular dinner service, they can really keep you waiting. During very busy days, or special events, you can be left waiting an hour or more for your food. This really is not the place to go if you want food immediately. Namaste has the ability to be amazing, but just has to get its act together. read more

Butter chicken should be a decent dish anywhere but here was awful. chewy chicken that tastes and has texture like it's old or reheated poorly. It was on as the daily special so ... Most chicken pieces were left uneaten as it was truly inedible. Disappointing. Spice Flavour and sauce was great, just a massive fail on quality of the core ingredient. Won't order again. Stopped in for lunch after seeing 4.5 stars on yelp...which pretty good for this small quaint lakeside community. Buffett looked uninteresting at 1pm...so stuck with regular menu...and glad we did. We ordered chicken vindaloo, vegan burani rice, naan stuffed with pistachios and coconut...shared for 2. Everything very fresh, presented well... and arrived in a timely manner....but by far my fav was naan and rice. Only drawback was drink..ordered ginger gin....heavy on soda water...light on gin, and ginger...but still refreshing all the same. Was a bit loud, with large group of adults, and ill mannered children using silverware banging on table. Seriously, don't parents understand when dining out to ensure kids their behave so everyone in restaurant can enjoy this lunch. Other than that, good experience, and would return. read more
