I got a huge ginger root, thai chili peppers, 2 sandwich size bags of sesame seeds, peeled garlic, & and 2 bunches of green onion. Parking is easy as it's at the end of the strip mall. It's in the same shopping center as grocery outlet, paris bagutte, and goodwill but at the very end around the corner from goodwill. I have found them to be consistently over priced compared to other Indian grocery stores in the area. Almost 30-50% higher which is unacceptable. When addressing this with the owner they only made excuses about the recent tariff hike which is understandable to a degree. I've been a regular to this grocery store for quite some time now. I prefer to go here instead of the grocery stores on Main st because this one's a little less busy and you checkout quick. However, today i.e Jun 5, 2022 I learnt why this store is so quite and it turned out to be my last visit to this place. I'm picky on items I buy here knowing the sub-standard quality of their perishable items. As some other reviewers pointed out, one will find rotting onions, sweet potatoes, fruits, etc and buying any vegetables here is not recommended. I should have applied that rule to desserts/sweets as well. Today I found it out the hard way. The peda (Indian dessert) I purchased here had mold in it. In the past, I've experienced that their desserts were not fresh but ignored the warning signs. I should have avoided those items as well. I guess lesson learned. I took the box back to the store and the store clerk promptly issued a refund. I highlighted that there are other boxes that I notice that they seem fishy and he said he will get rid of them. However, I doubt they will improve. A) I didn't receive any apology B) it seemed to me like it is no big deal for them C) if they cared enough, one would not find rotting vegetables, fruits and now desserts in their store. read more

Namaste Plaza Milpitas is amazing! Very friendly staff and during the Covid times, I ordered a curbside pick up. It was very simple process, I called them and they gave me an email id to send them a list of groceries needed. With in an hour I was able to pick up the groceries from the curb side. I paid cash so that I don't have to go in , also I did not want the change back, eg: My bill was 121$ and I had 130$, so I gladly asked them to keep the change, which he insisted on bringing back, but I politely said no and let him keep the change. They are doing us a great help and we as customers should be considerate and thoughtful about them. Fresh veggies, got 99% of what I had on my list. Totally happy with the products!! This grocery store used to be fine pre-covid but they have started hiking the price on pretty much everything now. The prices increase by 50 cents to a dollar or two so it does not seem like price gouging but definitely have increased the prices a lot. They don't even have price tags on half of the shelves/products. Someone needs to look into it. read more

My review is for the grocery pick up service that's started recently with the minimum order of 75$. I emailed bunch of items & picked it up, as there were lot of items so i didn't check items at store. Later i came to know in order to reach 75$ they have just provided bunch of more items and charged me for that/ or the guys who are preparing are so careless that they didn't see how much i wanted vs how much they provided. Eg. - for 0.5 lb green chillies they gave 1.2 lbs of greenchillies, - instead of 5 lbs 100% wheat aashirwad roti aata, they gave some weird brand roti aata 10 lb with wheat+ all purpose flour. - instead of indian ketchup they gave roma tomatoes paste in a tin. - instead of 8 jalapeño pieces they gave 14, and out of which 6 were contaminated. I appreciate they started pickup option for convenience during covid time, But i would expect them to call me or email me atleast to say what are the items they can not fulfill vs charging me randomly for the items I didn't even order or which is not any of my use. Also atleast check what is the food quality you are giving to customers. I do not recommend pickup from here. If you do expect you will just throw away money for the contaminated stuff you can't eat or some good stuff that you don't need. read more

Please make sure you see the date of EXPIRY when you purchase any item. I just returned an expired pack of SUPERME DULHAN INDIAN HENNA (mehandi) powder and writing this review. While returning at the billing counter, I asked for a non-expired same item, the cashier asked me to check in the same aisle and shocked on seeing most of the same items are having expired date (12/2016). After that I purchased the same item (a DOLLAR less) in another INDIAN store. So be extra cautious while shopping. read more

I am so OVERWHELMED. What is going on in this supermarket?! Spices are everywhere. Huge selection of fresh produce. There's even fresh, hot samosas and veggie puffs. Literally every corner that I turned, there was a different scent! The market is clean, simple and confusing at its best. Besides the giant 'Fresh Produce' sign, there is no clear instructions on which area shelves what. No clear category and honestly no logic in determining the location/placing of the items. But I guess that's the fun of it! It's like a fun adventure. If you're ever waiting for food like me, definitely wander around and visit this market. Even when you walk out with nothing, the experience will somewhat enrich you. Also, be ready for very interesting food items! And LEAVE YOUR JUDGMENTS/PREJUDICE at home. read more

The most unhygienic shop I've been to. Shopping carts & baskets didn't seem to be cleaned and sanitized. Noticed some expired stuffs. Produce were not fresh at all. And the worst part is, the cashiers were not friendly at all, even when it was less crowded. The guy cashier was more attentive towards his Tamil series on the tv rather than their customers. That young lady cashier was grumpy and instead of her saying thank you, for giving them business, she didn't even look at me when I said thank you. She made me feel like I wasn't welcome there. Today was the craziest day in over the two decades of my being in Bay Area. Six counties announced the 'shelter in place' directive in response to the COVID-19 situation. People were desperately trying to get the basics for themselves before the directive gets in place at midnight. The staff at Namaste was being extremely helpful in helping people move through checkout as fast as they could. They walked along the long line to see wherever someone was getting only simple items, and could pay in cash, they would settle it right there in line. Even for anyone who was ok with estimated payments, they would take credit card payments too. Kept the lines moving and effectively split up folks with small and simple purchases from those who were getting lots of supplies. Kudos to these guys for helping manage the crazy rush. read more

I love this place. I used to go to India Cash n Carry in Sunnyvale, but then I discovered Namaste Plaza and grocery shopping became so much easier. It's not crowded like ICC, staff are very polite and helpful, produces are fresh and they have a great collection of other products. I like the store for the fact that they have fresh groceries, decent variety and good staff. The reason for 1 star rating is for not making customer safety a priority. Their staff unpacks large boxes in the aisles and leaves the ropes on the floor. I had once tripped badly in this store due to this and have been having chronic knee pain since the last few months. Their cashiers know nothing about North Indian food even though they carry it. That's fine. But know what? They get awfully mad and rude if you catch their ignorance !! One of their cashiers charged me $1 extra for a sweet "sakarpara" because he insisted it was a sweets item. But it's a well-known snack item in UP/Rajasthan. I pointed that out to him, and thought he would correct it. But this guy CREATED A SCENE !!. He was loud, rude and disrespectful, and wasted 10 minutes of other customers' time. Me and my wife always prefer this place for our groceries purchase. A small Indian feel the moment you enter inside. Your time flies by. Their fresh vegetables and fruits are something to be pointed out. I have never found anything in bad quality ever. Also the samosas are delicious which you get it here. Its my wife's favourite. Warning: regularly sell expired products. Just take a note of the expiry dates on all pickles, masalas etc. A good chunk of them are always expired or close to expiry. Most of the legumes they sell( kidney beans , dals etc) do not have any packaging or manufacturing date printed. Makes me wonder how fresh their produce is too. Warning: They sell expired goods or goods that are close to expiry. On a few occasions I purchased items unknowingly that had already expired or were close to expiry. This place is a pleasant surprise compared to the New India Bazaar on main street in Milpitas and other desi stores on El Camino ! It's clean, organized, tons of choice/variety and lot's of room inside the store to go around with your shopping cart. And best of all, there is plenty parking in the shopping center so you don't have to compete. Prices are competitive and produce is fresh. The owner/manager of the store (Srikanth) is a real nice guy who is always ready to help. He is polite and pleasant to deal with- a total opposite to the owner at New India Bazaar on main street- the guy (decked with bling-bling) is plain crass and rude ! I love this place and am making it my regular grocery stop! I am sooooo glad it opened in Milpitas :) read more

Yes, this place is *good*, which is equal to great/awesome for grocery stores. Most desi grocery stores are so pathetic, New India Bazaar (Milpitas) tops the list followed by Cash and Carry and such. The staff is polite and attentive. The management is appreciative of feedback and responds promptly, one can argue this is because they are located in an obscured corner and that not as many people know that there is a Namaste Plaza in Milpitas, well one can argue anything they want but almost nothing can make an arrogant person fun to be around. They are well stocked and are happily ready to get things/brands they do not have on their list without fussing. Thats good business, if the customer wants to buy something, get it to him! At the corner of the block. Lots of parking. 100% recommended. Good job guys!
