So after reading reviews and seeing what's popular, I ordered the jc roll and a spicy tuna roll for myself, and the tsunami roll and Diablo roll for the hubby. Spicy tuna roll has always been my favorite, but it wasn't really "spicy", nonetheless it was delicious! My Jc roll tho!... oh man, that was fire! The various sauces it came with paired so well with it! Pure flavor! It also came with some fried onion strings and partially seared fish underneath. Loved it! I decided to try my husband's Diablo roll, and while that was straight fire, I probably shouldn't have ate the sliced jalapeño: I started hiccuping like crazy haha! I decided to venture outside my usual spot in Murrieta for sushi and wow! I've been missing out here in my hometown. Staff was friendly and attentive and provided me pointers on items(although I didn't listen, lol). I ordered the crunch dragon roll, Caribbean roll, and garlic shrimp roll. The rolls are a good size, reasonable prices, and the quality of fish was great. The Caribbean roll, oh my! It tastes fresh and is perfect for a hot summer day and it's spicy, just like I like it! I wanted to treat myself to sushi tonight and stopped at this restaurant, which I have been at a few times before and I did enjoy the food but tonight it was busy and when I asked to go to the bathroom while he took the three to go orders before me, he told me "There's a wait for a table. You can wait a few minutes". I had been in my car for an hour and a half and wanted to sit and enjoy a good meal. I don't understand why I couldn't go to the bathroom while he took care of the people that were ahead of me, especially since I wanted to eat in and they were ordering to go food. His arrogant tone and facial expressions towards me were very offensive. Ladies, as you know, the older you get the more your bladder calls the shots. I guess Restaurant has no regard for human decency. I will not be eating at this restaurant that has no regard for the elderly population. We did get our food fast but the rolls just taste plain we order 4 different rolls and they weren't good it tasted like room temperature seafood, also the calamari was nasty. I never got a refill on my drink and I couldn't ask our server due that she was to busy talking to her coworkers. But I really wanted sushi so I sat in the awkward chair next to the door and looked at the menu. Pages and pages of rolls, but if like me you don't like fried things or cheese in your sushi, this is not the place for you. Lots of fried, lots of cheese, and lots of sauce. I was down to a dragon roll. I started to think maybe they had creativity but not quality fish. My wife and I have been in a couple of times and the food has been fantastic. One small thing, for me, is that some of the rolls are heavy on the sauces. But, to reiterate, it's not a slight on the food or chef. I just am picky about saucy foods. The rolls themselves are big and definitely worth the price. 2 can pretty much fill me up without any problem. We visited Nanami Friday night. They do not take reservations. Even if the restaurant doesn't look busy, you'll have to wait outside for 15-30 minutes. They take your email address and let you know when it's your turn. But, it's all worth the wait. Great food and an extensive menu of sushi, seafood, and sashimi. Many to choose from. Many I suspect they invented. We ordered three sushi rolls, then three more sushi rolls. We just had to keep sampling different items. We'll have to go back again and try some new ones. Everything is generous, well presented, and delicious. Wow, hard to select the next bite. Service is good but not pushy. As a huge sushi fan and living in San Francisco where the competition is fierce, I have to say that I was not sure what to expect from this place. It did not disappoint! The venue has a nice atmosphere, with a dim warm lightning (I always hate it when it's overlit). I ordered some spicy edamame and a miso soup for starters. The edamame was perfectly cooked, a lot of restaurants overcook it, but this one was crispy as I like it! The miso soup was tasty and comes in a generous portion. Afterwards, I had a sushi sampler, and an additional Tako (octopus nigiri). The sushi sampler is composed of 6 Teka maki, and 5 pieces of nigiri: maguro (tuna), sake (salmon), tai (red snapper), hotate (scallop) and ebi (shrimp). All of them were great! Special mention to the tai who just melted in my mouth! The Teka maki were good but I have to say that the rice was a bit overcooked. They actually made a mistake and sat someone before me although I was supposed to be the next one in line. They quickly fixed their mistake and sat me down immediately. Not only that, but because I waited for quite some time and some of the things I tried ordering weren't available, they ended up giving me some complimentary items. This experience could have easily been a bad one but because their customer service was ON POINT, it turned my experience to a great one! I wish more restaurants would take note because not only will I be back, but I will definitely be a regular! Also, I'm a HUGE uni fan and apparently they used to carry it but no one really ordered it. One of the sushi chefs said if I called in advance that they could probably get it in! HECK YES!!!
