Mimi genuinely cares for every child like her own and has decades of experience. Her daughter Mahdis occasionally helps out and the kids adore her; she's just as caring as Mimi. We get daily photos and videos that brighten our whole day. Meals and snacks are healthy and delicious. Our daughter comes home happy every evening. On nice days the kids play in her backyard. Mimi is incredibly flexible, quick to respond, and teaches manners with the perfect mix of warmth and consistency. The holiday decorations are always a huge hit with the little ones. We couldn't ask for better care. Highly recommend Mimi!

She has so much experience and knowledge on babies/kids and sends us updates throughout the day. Mimi's daughter, Mahdis, also helps with the little ones occasionally, and she also just loves them all so much. My daughter has grown so much socially & emotionally in the time she has been with Mimi. Her home is clean, organized, and provides a safe and loving environment for the babies and kids to learn, grow, and thrive. Mimi also provides healthy home-cooked meals for the kids, and goes above and beyond to puree some of the food she makes for the older kids for my daughter. I would recommend Mimi to any parent looking for a caring, dependable, and exceptional daycare provider who will make your child feel so loved. We feel incredibly lucky to have found her!

At 18 months, my daughters exposure to adults have all been family, however Ms. Mau is the exception at this amazing facility with great teachers. Ms. Mau is very patient, professional, kind, and experienced. Before making a decision to join the Building Kidz family, it put my mind at ease seeing their 18 month teacher Ms.Mau interact and lead the toddlers during a facilities tour. She really embodies the mission and importance of early childhood education. It as only been a week in the classroom but I can see the change a classroom with structured lesson plans make on my daughter. We went from high chair feeding and assisted naps to solo feeds and self soothing nap times. My daughter now looks forward to seeing her teacher Ms. Mau at school. Thank you Ms. Mau for taking this first time worried parent and making the transition painless for my daughter and I. Look forward to the great daily communication and reports of my daughter's progression

He's now in Kindergarten and he told me he's bored because of everything since he had already learned so much of it in his Pre K class. One major thing the school helped him on was independence at drop off which was a struggle most mornings. My younger daughter has been attending since she was 2 yrs old and potty training was a breeze for me compared to my son. The 2's class teachers really impressed me with their training. She was potty trained fairly quickly and much faster than my son as his daycare didn't assist much. Huge plus! My son had major stage fright right before attending Building Kidz and only after one month of attendance before the Spring show, his performance amazed me. He picked up the dance choreography and didn't exhibit any stage fright. This school year will be my daughter's first time performing and I can't wait to see how she does. Overall, I love how this school focuses on the whole student, not just academics and the performance arts (music and dance) learnings is awesome. I drive all the way from East Dublin and it's far for a school commute but worth it!

We visited many other schools, but none of them made us feel like our child's happiness and safety were truly the priority. Many were Montessori programs with rigid classroom settings and rules that we felt were unnecessary for kids at this age. The family-run team at DHCS has always made us feel like partners in raising our daughter. Communication has been great and it's clear they really know each child individually. They've been flexible with schedule changes and even welcomed us back without requiring re-enrollment when we briefly tried a school closer to home after our second child was born. We continue to do the 30-minute drive each way because of how much benefit we've seen this school provide to our daughter. Over the years we've seen our daughter become more confident, social, and excited about learning, which has been wonderful to watch. They teach the kids about different holidays and cultures and always find a reason to celebrate. We also really appreciate how diverse the student body and teachers are, which helps create a welcoming environment where kids are exposed to many different backgrounds. They're not the cheapest school and not the most expensive, but for us it has absolutely been worth it. Every concern or piece of feedback we've provided has always been taken with great care and met with a professional, non-defensive attitude. A huge added bonus is the location -- the police station is right next door, which gives us extra peace of mind as parents. They also have a giant playground with all kinds of outdoor activities for the kids, and they strongly encourage outside play. The only downside is that they don't have a third location in Castro Valley or Hayward. One can dream... hint hint, Miss Angie and Miss Coco :)

Our 4 year old son started at LAPMS last summer and the transition was extremely smooth for him…read more He had gone to another montessori school before we moved to Danville so he adjusted well due to this but his three teachers at LAPMS were all so warm, loving, and caring. Academically, they had them work on a simple book report every week in order to start introducing the concept of homework to them, they also used Kindergarten-level math books so my son was already doing addition and subtraction problems in the 12s and 13s by the end of the year. Additionally, my son's reading skills drastically improved while at LAPMS due to the teachers adjusting the reading materials and worksheets to match each child's different reading level. Now, my son has graduated from LAPMS and attends Kindergarten at one of the SRVUSD elementary schools and he whips through the homework assignments and continues to excel in reading. I truly feel that my son's teachers set him up for success for Kindergarten and I am truly grateful for the school. When my son recently ran into his former LAPMS teacher, the teacher embraced my son and was so genuinely happy to see him again. You could just see how much they care about each child. We now have our 2 year old enrolled at LAPMS and after about a month of some tears and a transitioning phase, he also now loves going to school. His 3 teachers also are always so loving, extremely patient and warm individuals. I have never seen them lose their patience even with a room full of toddlers! I also have asked them to adjust our son's napping schedule and they have always been very accommodating and willing to make changes as needed. They also diligently provide updates on diaper changes, nap times and photos of activities throughout the day. Something I also noticed about the LAPMS staff is that I see teachers from other classrooms help in other classrooms as needed even if it's just for a short amount of time and they always do it with a smile. I feel this shows the camaraderie between the staff where they have the same goal to support and care for all students at LAPMS and they do it as a united team. I usually don't post reviews on Yelp but felt compelled to do so for LAPMS because of the very positive experience we've had. Thank you LAPMS Danville staff!

Our son attended Bright Horizons Bishop Ranch from 11 months old. He did well in the infant and…read moretoddler rooms. The problems started when he moved to Early Preschool. What changed in Early Preschool: One teacher--despite 19+ years of experience--was routinely moody at drop-off, setting a tense tone. Multiple other parents shared similar concerns with us. The second teacher was kind but very early in her career and not confident with standard calming techniques or age-appropriate expectations for a 3-year-old. Typical behaviors--like distraction--were treated as extreme. The staff observed some behaviors in our son and asked us to seek evaluations. We trusted them and followed through; our son was later diagnosed with Level 1 Autism and began working with child-development therapists. While evaluations were in progress, we met several times with his teacher and admin. The push for a 1:1 aide began and continued, even as we shared therapist input and asked for simple classroom supports in the meantime. We organized joint calls between our therapists and Bright Horizons staff at the center's request. During one call, staff demanded an in-person classroom assessment by our therapists. We didn't like how that call was conducted but agreed because we wanted what was best for our son. During this same period, our son was kept in Early Preschool while other children with similar challenges (difficulty with 2-3 step directions, slow to calm) were moved up to Preschool. We raised this as inconsistent and explained he learns quickly from slightly older peers; that input was dismissed. Our therapists observed in the classroom and stated a 1:1 guide was not necessary. They found that vague instructions and compressed, chaotic transitions (post-nap snack potty outside within ~an hour) increased distraction for many kids, not just our son. They recommended simple, evidence-based supports for all students: post a visual schedule, use consistent positive recognition, and get down to a child's eye level when they were getting very distracted or were having an emotional time. We were told the eye-level approach was "too much attention required by the child", which is a basic requirement when dealing with children. We (and the therapists) also observed teachers trying to reason with children at the peak of an emotional outburst instead of using calming/co-regulation strategies. In a follow-up call that included the center director, the director spoke to our therapists in a way we found extremely rude and unnecessary (especially the Center Director). The therapists again stated, based on their in-person assessment, that our son did not need a 1:1 guide. Despite the in-person assessment and written recommendations, the center issued an ultimatum: hire a 1:1 within two weeks or they would "pause" his enrollment. Even more concerning, we were told the 1:1 could be anyone--a parent, friend, or nanny--no child-development background required. I should also mention I was about 6 weeks postpartum when they mentioned this. If a 1:1 were truly necessary for safety or learning, allowing any untrained adult didn't make sense. We decided to take him out of Bright Horizons and move to another school and my son is thriving, we haven't had any complaints at all from the new place. In fact some of the behaviors such as being distracted and requiring prompts/reminders are considered normal for a 3-4 year old here. Bottom line: The infant/toddler rooms were positive, but our Early Preschool experience showed uneven child-development understanding, inconsistent move-up standards, dismissal of simple inclusive supports, and a two-week 1:1 ultimatum that contradicted professional guidance. The child development therapists also looked at the center's requirements to move from Early Preschool to Preschool and mentioned that their expectations for a 3 year old are too high.
