Our son started at LAPMS when he was 18 months old and he is now almost 5. We have seen so much growth in his learning and social skills. It's amazing to see the skills he comes home with--reading, writing, math! He has moved up in 3 different classrooms, and every teacher has been patient, loving, and caring. They really care about the well-being of the students, both physically and emotionally. I have complete trust in the entire team with the care of my son. The facilities are clean, and they have very high standards for safety and communication. The staff have supported us through the process of classroom transitions, potty training, and dropping naps. When our son cried at drop-off during the transitions or on particularly emotional mornings, they were wonderful at comforting him, and would give us a call later in the morning to update us, putting us at ease. They also send regular updates with photos and videos, which was a great relief especially in the earlier days. They also really try to foster his independence. I used to carry his water bottle and lunch in for him every morning. One day, he came home saying that he was going to carry in his own stuff (I know he did not just come up with this idea on his own!). Ms. Farzana had started encouraging him to do this--a seemingly small change but it makes drop-offs so much quicker and smoother for me. This is just one example of many ways they have taught our son (and us) how to help him be independent. From a practical standpoint, the location and hours are convenient for us. It's close to the freeway so quite easy to get to and from work. The 8 AM-6 PM open hours work well for our work schedules. They also have extra early hours (between 7-8 AM, for additional fee), which was great to have on the days when we needed it. This was all just a bonus, as our main priority was how well they cared for our son. I am so grateful to LAPMS for fostering a safe environment for our son where he can thrive. Words cannot express how thankful our family is for Learn and Play Montessori School in Danville. I had two of my children there babies all the way to Kindergarten. My younger one has now graduated from the school, and we are so so sad to say goodbye after all of these years! This school has been so much more than we could have ever hoped for. We made real connections with the staff and lifelong bonds with other families. We really trusted the staff to care for and teach our kids- and were able to go to work without a single worry. They were like a second family to us and a huge part of our lives. The teachers are incredibly kind and patient but also firm when they need to be. I first shared my thoughts when my son started at just 18 months old, and now that he's turned 5, I wanted to write another--this time to recognize his incredible current teachers: Ms. Esra, Ms. Padmaja, and Ms. Devika. I had the chance to visit their classroom this morning during Parent Observation Week, and it was such a meaningful experience. Watching the children engaged in their Montessori work firsthand really highlighted how thoughtfully the environment is prepared. The classroom felt calm, organized, and full of purpose, and it was wonderful to see how much independence and confidence the children are encouraged to develop. Our 4 year old son started at LAPMS last summer and the transition was extremely smooth for him. He had gone to another montessori school before we moved to Danville so he adjusted well due to this but his three teachers at LAPMS were all so warm, loving, and caring. Academically, they had them work on a simple book report every week in order to start introducing the concept of homework to them, they also used Kindergarten-level math books so my son was already doing addition and subtraction problems in the 12s and 13s by the end of the year. Additionally, my son's reading skills drastically improved while at LAPMS due to the teachers adjusting the reading materials and worksheets to match each child's different reading level. Now, my son has graduated from LAPMS and attends Kindergarten at one of the SRVUSD elementary schools and he whips through the homework assignments and continues to excel in reading. I truly feel that my son's teachers set him up for success for Kindergarten and I am truly grateful for the school. When my son recently ran into his former LAPMS teacher, the teacher embraced my son and was so genuinely happy to see him again. You could just see how much they care about each child. We now have our 2 year old enrolled at LAPMS and after about a month of some tears and a transitioning phase, he also now loves going to school. His 3 teachers also are always so loving, extremely patient and warm individuals. I have never seen them lose their patience even with a room full of toddlers! I also have asked them to adjust our son's napping schedule and they have always been very accommodating and willing to make changes as needed. They also diligently provide updates on diaper changes, nap times and photos of activities throughout the day. Something I also noticed about the LAPMS staff is that I see teachers from other classrooms help in other classrooms as needed even if it's just for a short amount of time and they always do it with a smile. I feel this shows the camaraderie between the staff where they have the same goal to support and care for all students at LAPMS and they do it as a united team. We have been with LAPMS Danville since 2023. In the beginning, there was quite a bit of teacher turnover, which caused confusion among parents. Not to mention, parents were provided with no updates on what was going on with our kid at school. However, things changed significantly after Ms. Manjari (and Ms Amrita later on) took over. I felt their leadership brought stability, consistency and renewed sense of direction to the school. We've been genuinely happy with our experience. The teachers and LAPMS staff are warm and welcoming. Communication with parents has improved greatly - we now receive regular updates (including monthly curriculum) and photos through the app. There are also two parent-teacher conferences each year, providing a dedicated time to discuss our child's progress, strengths, and areas for growth. I also appreciate how Ms. Esra took the time (outside of the parent-teacher conferences) to share specific feedback on my son's writing skills. While he could already write, she noticed challenges with size and spacing. She reassured me that it should be fine, as he would be joining the summer class where she planned to give him practice to improve these areas. The curriculum is engaging, with plenty of play-based exploration and exciting science experiments. My son especially enjoyed the experiments and outdoor playtime. The playground is spacious, and even after we have moved, he still says the LAPMS playground is bigger than the one at his new school. As my son moves on to his next chapter, I want to sincerely thank the school and all the wonderful teachers for nurturing, guiding, and inspiring him. We couldn't be happier and more grateful for everything they've done for our girls. We had such a positive experience, and the the two things where I feel this school shines: the excellent education my girls received, and the teamwork by the teachers which came through in the care and love for all the kids. We decided to keep both our girls there for the kindergarten program, and they were both ahead of the game when entering 1st grade public school. Our family has been part of Learn & Play since 2020, when our son started at age 3, right in the middle of the pandemic. At first, things were rocky. Due to strict COVID protocols, parents weren't allowed inside the premises, and for the first year and a half, we noticed very high staff turnover. We went through three different directors and numerous changes among teachers and administrative staff, often without any communication or updates. It was unsettling not knowing who was caring for our child each day or what his days looked like. Despite our frustration and even considering pulling our son out, waitlists elsewhere kept us enrolled. Eventually, we requested a conference, and that's when things began to turn around. From that point on, the school made significant improvements. Parents were welcomed back into the building, regular parent-teacher conferences were established, and the staff turnover finally stabilized. Communication became clear and proactive, both about classroom activities and any staff changes. The teachers seemed happier and more connected, and we felt reassured knowing who was with our children and what they were learning each day. We were so pleased with the changes that we decided to enroll our younger daughter when she turned 18 months. Both of our children have made tremendous academic and social progress at Learn & Play. The teachers who've been part of their journey genuinely cared for them, and we are grateful for the nurturing environment and the community we found there. While our experience started off uncertain, we're very glad we stayed. We discovered Learn & Play in Danville and loved its vibe and setup. His first teachers there were amazing--caring, loving, compassionate. He started at 2 1/2, after being home full-time with us (we both WFH), so the adjustment was normal but he genuinely enjoyed class and his teachers. We watched him grow--literally and figuratively. The only downside: he was always sick. We knew that would happen; friends warned us. Kids came to class under the weather--lime-green snot and all. The policy was simple: if your child has a fever, pick them up; otherwise they'll stay. We understood parents have to work, but still. Aside from colds and settling in, we were happy--they said he was ready to move up to the next class. We trusted the admin, so when he joined the older-kid class, we expected a smooth transition. He had a few mini-meltdowns ("I don't want to go!") but we chalked it up to change and growing vocabulary. At our first parent-teacher conference--four months later--we were blindsided. They told us: * He hadn't interacted much with other kids; during play, story time, etc., he mostly read quietly in a corner. * When teachers tried to involve him, he sometimes melted down, and they eventually gave up trying--without telling us. * For two weeks straight he hid under a desk, refusing to come out or engage with peers or adults. * They didn't think he was adjusting well, but assured us he was "getting better." We left shocked and appalled. We paid thousands to this school, yet they'd let him struggle in isolation without a word for months. Who speaks for a nonverbal child? After that meeting we happened to talk to his previous preschool teachers. They'd warned the administrator he wasn't ready and advised she keep him in his original class a few more months; but she ignored them. Why? To free up spots (and tuition dollars) for new students. In short: this school prioritizes filling seats over children's needs. Then came the kicker: during a one-on-one, post that parent/teacher conference his class teacher said, "It's typical of kids on the spectrum." Kids with autism are nothing but wonderful little humans. BUT, here's the kicker, our son isn't autistic. This turn-key, play-based "Montessori" setup is just a sales pitch. The school or the brand, I think is owned by the administrators husband and thy care more about their bottom line and "franchise" status than genuine child development. Do yourself a favor: don't send your child here. They'll use your tuition to fatten their wallets, not enrich your child's growth. read more

We have been very satisfied with the standard of care and education our little girl has received at LAPMS Danville. She is a sensitive little thing and was very attached to her carers at daycare so we were apprehensive about moving her but she has developed the same bonds with Ms Kelly and Ms Perla and speaks about them as her friends which is so heart-warming. As first time parents we are a bit obsessive but Ms Amrita's warm and attentive leadership means that we never have to worry about our child's happiness or safety. My wife and I are typical Danville parents and visited and interviewed numerous schools before deciding on Learn & Play Montessori School. In our opinion, they had the most comprehensive curriculum and professional staff out of the schools we researched. We are so happy our first impression was correct. We have continued to be impressed by the kindness and care shown by every member of their staff. While some daycares seem more like a warehouse for children than a school, our kid had demonstrated to us what she has learned in class from songs, numbers, and language skills. They have periodic progress reports and parent teacher conferences. In each of these conferences I am astonished at how well they know my child and intimately know her strengths and areas for improvement. They are very candid and promptly notify us if our child has any injury (all kids fall on the playground occasionally!) LAPMS also makes good use of technology and uses an app for check in and check out and payment. My son has been attending LAPMS since April 2023 and started just before his 2nd birthday. The teachers, staff, and facility are amazing and we've had a great experience so far. My son is always happy to see his teachers and friends. I love receiving updates from the school and seeing all the fun activities that the kids enjoy so much. Their playground area is great too. Few things I wish could be better: 1. Snack menu could have more variety or healthier options 2. Option for the school to provide lunch 3. More updates or photos from the school. We are so happy with our experience here! Our daughter has been here since fall of 2022 and has progressed through several classrooms as she's grown. Special thanks to Ms. Perla, Ms. Amena, Ms. Prema, Ms. Farzana, and Ms. Erin (among many others) for their love and care. Our girl has thrived, learning both social skills and academics. She sings, reads, writes and tells us "she loves it." There are many fun special activities over the course of the year. The children spend time every day in the outside play areas. There are also optional music and soccer/tumbling classes. All of the staff know all the kids. This school is also very friendly to working parents (great location, good hours, minimal extended breaks, children only sent home for very good reasons, and all extra activities and assignments are completely optional). We feel good about safety with the check in app which also includes photos, nap and potty updates, and reports on anything unusual. We also receive phone calls whenever there are incidents (bites, scrapes) or if anything seems off about our child. We also lucked out in that the other kids and parents are great as well. We toured 6 schools and picked Learn and Play. We are really happy with our decision. read more

Don't walk - run to enroll your child!! Space is limited, and this school is just the best. There are so many amazing things we love about LAPMS. As parents, we are all so nervous about childcare (especially out of our sight), and the level of care from all the staff (front desk to teachers) are exceptional. They truly care about your child's well-being. All the staff knew our child's name, and we felt so loved and supported as a family. The facility is on the newer side, and the security is tight. We have had no complaints since Ms. Manjari came back as a director again. The plus side is that the families who bring their kids here are very respectful and polite. All the kids are very well-behaved. We hardly, if at all, saw a chaotic situation at drop-off or pick-up. If we could, we would continue sending our child here until he goes to college. read more

He started going to LAPMS about 2 years ago and as any parent we were very anxious about how he will adjust from a small day care with personalized attention to a formal preschool. My husband and I really enjoy sending our son to LAPMS everyday. The teachers and admins are really kind, supportive and compassionate. Our 2 year-old son was recently upset to the yearly spring photographing as it is new to him. The staffs extended help to support and comfort him throughout the session and made it possible to be flexible to reschedule him on the second day to take photos again since he cried much on the first day. Everyday, the teacher Ms. Errin kept us updated on how my son enjoyed the day and provided us valuable feedbacks. My son now really enjoys being with the class. We started with youngest class of 1.5 years, which many schools don't provide. Our daughter learnt so much these first six months. When we had feedback or requests for the school, all staff accommodated and helped us, which was very much appreciated. When our daughter got an ouchie, the school called us immediately and sent pictures. They always handled the situation very well. They have great teachers there and I feel they take great care of all the kids there. Our child went to L&P from the age of 2.5 years old until he was 5.5 years old. We are so grateful for the teachers that made L&P an enjoyable, challenging, enriching and safe experience for him. The teachers and the staff really go out of their way to care for the children, and create an amazing community. My son and I had to relocate temporarily in CA. I had to look for schools that are available for him. I learned LAPMS through a close friend of mine. Everyone was very nice and welcoming from the very beginning until the very end. He is always excited and comfortable to be in his class. Ms. Marya and I were always on the same page with my son. She keeps my son productive and I'm always surprised and proud to see all the works he's doing and he gives me more information about the things he learned from his class. He is doing so much better and he's always excited to learn new things. LAPMS is not just encouraging children to learn, the children will also learn to teach themselves independently. They always make learning a lot easier for the children and of course, they make sure that each child is having fun at the same time. Everything is balanced in terms of the routine/schedule. Our son started at LAPMS in Danville in January 2023 in the toddler classroom (first time away from home) and he is doing very well. We really appreciate Ms. Jeanette and the other classroom 1 teachers for being so patient, thoughtful, and fun for our son and the class. Our son has multiple food allergies and eczema and everyone at the Danville campus have treated our son very well. The first week, we received almost daily courtesy updates which made us feel better. Ms. Manjari, Ms. Erin, Ms. Lizette, and the other staff are so friendly and professional. Shoutout to Ms. Erin who takes the time to share pics of our son on the app (which we love!). LAPMS has been an outstanding experience for my children and my family. My children have thrived at LAPMS for 3 years and the staff and teachers are attentive, kind, and thoughtful. We have been with LAPMS for almost a year now. We have nothing but good things to say about this school. My daughter joined without knowing how to hold her pencil properly up till this point know how to do single digits addition. The communication between front desk staff and parents are great too thru app, via phone or email. I like how they frequently sending pictures of your kid at school too.
