Other garages seem to work on the theory that they will get your car, when they get to it. That wasn't my experience at all with Papa's garage.

I brought in our van at 7am on Monday, when they first open and he took time to better understand the situation and promised a phone call follow up. About 845 he called to give me four options on how to fix it. I never felt pressured to handle it a certain way and it was obvious he is there to provide great customer service. I approved the work and had the van back at the end of the day. So far, so good. Price was fair for the amount of work that was done, and certainly beats anything you would pay at a dealer. So my vehicle broke down on me 10 days ago. It needed a tow so I decided to have it taken to Tuffys…read moresince I live in the area. This was Monday night. After talking to Tuffys on the phone I was assured they would get right on it the next day. Well I live near the shop so I drive by daily and my vehicle did not move one inch from that spot for 10 days until I had it towed to a different shop. The kicker is Tuffys got an attitude about me taking it...they actually said they were about to roll it into the shop just when the tow truck pulled up! What a coincidence. Anyway they charged me $55 before I could take my car. Mind you they didn't even look at it. It just sat there for 10 days. Needless to say I'm done with Tuffys!

It's honestly my fault for coming back to this place after they lied to me about how much my tires were going to cost me last year. They quoted me $500 for both tires to be replaced, turns out they don't know how to read, so I ended up paying almost $1000. This time was a complete rip off. My car died on the road and I had it towed to Tuffy. It was clearly an electrical issue. My battery had just been replaced three months prior, so we figured it'd be the alternator. When I dropped it off, I asked for an oil change as well. A few days later, they sent me the inspection report for a total of over SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. On that report they said I needed to get another new battery, alternator, new tires, and some other stuff that I don't even care to recall. The alternator alone was going to cost $823 to replace and install. My fiancé called and told them not to do any more work on the car, at all, full stop. They proceeded to do the oil change that I had originally requested before they came to us with all of the other "issues". Well they decided to continue with the oil change and charged us for that as well. My fiancé called them back and asked them why they would replace the oil on a car they were saying couldn't run anyway. The owner responded, "well, she was going to pay to make it run." Needless to say, I picked up my car and brought it home. The car started leaking oil, when that previously wasn't a problem ... it seemed as though they messed with the seal for the oil housing. We replaced that and now it's no longer leaking. Also, got the new alternator replaced for ~$350 and the new tires for around ~$250. So fixed two issues for less than what they estimated for one. The workers here seem like nice enough people, but the owner is an absolute jerk. And since I know you(he) will respond to this, I hope you have the day you deserve.
