I'm really disappointed to have to leave this review. I come here for my oil changes and other small services for my car. I had a few lights on and I noted that before going in. Once I arrived I gave a brief explanation and I made clear nothing was glaringly wrong and my car was running well. I expected just a routine look and that it wouldn't be extra. Of course when I went to the cashier desk and looked at the bill I was taken aback because I ended up looking at a massive bill. I was 1. not expecting to pay such a large amount unknowingly and 2. I don't think diagnosing the problem was worth nearly 200 dollars. I honestly would've rather put up and shut up and just let them do the oil change. I'll stick with my regular mechanic to diagnose and repair going forward. I hesitated leaving this review but I don't appreciate the lack of disclosure on the potential price of that diagnosis. I am so disappointed of the integrity of this dealership. I bought a used car, AS IS and after of week driving it discovered some problems with the car. Called to bring it to their attentions and to see if they would do anything about it. The inspection guy, then informed me that knew these things were wrong before the care was sold. They never disclosed these problems and they were know to them before the sale of this vehicle. Wish I had know, they had little integrity. Thieves. I was there on Thursday for oil change. The next day my car stalls on the highway going 80mph. All of my sensors are going off. I reached out to Tanner M AND he's absolutely useless. He suggested I call Monday and speak with a general manager and hung up on me while I had already told him I was stranded. I take it to another Honda service center and was told battery maintenance is part of the process during oil changes. Guess my visit to Loves Park Honda for every single required oil change and maintenance visit, it was something missed! I was being charged for services not performed. After two years of being a loyal customer I have had enough of Loves Park Napleton Honda, their consistent errors and mistakes, pure incompetence AND disregard for something I worked hard to purchase and maintain per Honda recommendations. read more

I was told they would undo the work after they did work on the vehicle without my permission. my car came back damaged and instead of fixing it they are now claiming I did damage to the loaner without evidence. I am an active duty military member and our family is in the process of moving from Hawaii to Texas for our next assignment. We were in Rockford taking some vacation visiting family and decided to drive [instead of fly] to Texas. Right from the beginning the sales team was very professional and accommodating and made us a good deal on a pre-owned Odyssey. John Pokorny was very personable, professional, and easy to work with. The finance manager Nate Blaser was very up front, honest, and came through for us. It was a late Saturday so we had to wait until Monday to finish our financing, but they let us take the Van home for the weekend and had it detailed and with a full tank of gas on Monday. I will be honest, it was very unsettling to take the car home without owning it yet. This was a unique experience, but we placed our trust and confidence in Nate. Walked out in less than an hour on Monday with the paperwork complete, insurance, and plates already on. I have been serving in the military my entire adult life (16 years) and we have made several car purchases in various states. This has been one of the best experiences. I purchased one of my vehicles from this dealer and had been taking it there for service over many years. But a couple recent events have made me think twice. 1. I purchased a used Honda Accord last year and took it in for an inspection to see if there was anything that needed attention. I was told that there were cracks in the timing belt so the belt should be replaced. I was also told that the engine air filter and cabin air filter were getting quite dirty and should be replaced. The thing is, I had just installed a brand new cabin filter that morning. I later had a mechanic at another shop do some work that required removing the timing belt so I asked him to replace it while he was at it. He showed me the old belt and how he could find no cracks in it. Clearly, somebody wasn't being truthful or didn't really inspect those things. 2. I took that same Accord in to be serviced under the recent airbag recall. A couple days later I got letter that said on the outside of the envelope "Important Information About Your Recent Vehicle Service Visit". I opened it expecting something regarding my service or the recall but it was a sales pitch for SiriusXM. So they sold my information or partnered with SiriusXM to send a totally misleading mailing. These things are not acceptable. I'll be looking elsewhere for service whenever possible. read more

Update for updated rating (7/10/20): I spoke with the GM who listened to me, and valued & acknowledged what I had to say. My intent was to inform him so that he could address it and provide customer service training, not to get someone fired or in trouble. I would give 0 stars, but I can't. I have owned a Civic and currently own a CR-V, both from Napleton Honda, and I planned to be a "lifer". I went in to inquire about a Pilot, and we couldn't get close enough on numbers, so I decided not to purchase that day. Over the next 2 days, the salesman was in contact by text many times, and we finally came to a point where I was going to return to Napleton with the intent to purchase. When I arrived less than an hour later, I was told there was someone else test driving the car, so I waited. When the salesman returned with the other potential customer and they went to the table, I asked to talk to the sales manager about getting the paperwork ready and was told no. (All he had to do was check with the salesman to see if the other person was planning to purchase the same car; the kicker was that the customer was planning to lease a different vehicle, so they lost my sale due to appalling customer service.) When I said I felt I was being pushed around, the pre-owned sales manager became belligerent. He interrupted me multiple times, raised his voice at me, took his mask off while staying close to me (during a pandemic), loudly said "don't you dare" and "you listen to me" all in front of a group of other male employees. As a female this was extremely uncomfortable. I and my family members will not be returning to Napleton for new vehicles or service. read more

Have been buying cars from them for 26 years. Went in a while back to buy a new Civic. Just wanted to buy the car, and get out of there. Wife and I agreed we didn't want to add any additional contracts to the purchase, but once we got to the guy to sign the sales papers, he started pressuring my wife to add on additional things to the purchase. She finally gave in, and started pressuring me, so I gave in. I just needed a new car. We ended up paying $800 for a "service contract", as well as $700 for some sort of key replacement and "cosmetic tire repair". No big deal, until I found out that the contract only includes about 4-5 oil changes, and 4 "free" spark plugs. That's about $150-$200 for an oil change. My garage that I use charges about $50 for the same service. I've been so mad about getting taken like this, that I refuse to set foot in the place again. We have 25,000 miles on the car, and I've never taken it here for service. I've resigned to the fact that we were taken, and I pay my mechanic $50 for the oil changes when they are needed, not every 7500-8000 miles that Honda seems to recommend. They tok me for a few hundred bucks, but after 26 years, I won't ever do business with them again. I hope that other people won't as well, but if you decide to, be very careful when you go to sign the final paperwork. read more

Terrible service department. I had a Honda America extended Warrantee (I paid $700 to for it) and rather than honor it the service agent took the time to read the 30 page pamphlet so he could point out "seals" weren't covered. I needed a replacement window track at the top of the window. Hardly the engine seals the warrantee didn't cover. Another time I experienced the used car atmosphere when I needed and oil change and 50,000 mile check out and the agent tried to add unnecessary expense after unnecessary expense. I guess I stick with Janesville Honda for my dealership needs. This is the worst dealership I've seen. read more

One of the worst experiences. I called to schedule an appointment to get a routine oil change and tire rotation for my Infiniti. Talked to Peter Hernandez. Quoted $89.95 plus a little more for extra oil. Boy did they rip us off. They charged $131. They used 2 extra quarts of oil at $4.50/ea ($9) but charged us $40. I called back up there (my husband took the car in since I recently had surgery) and was told they charged us more for labor because they couldn't get the undercarriage pan off and it took longer. Peter informed me that I was LUCKY they didn't break a bolt trying to get it off otherwise they would have charged me a lot more. Really? If this shop is not used to working with my type of vehicle and had such a hard time removing the pan, why not just give the truck back and inform us of this. If they broke parts on our vehicle, why would we have to pay to pay for that? They didn't even reset the oil light for all they charged us. This is a very shady dealership. Just horrible! Go anywhere else. Do not bring your car here and from other reviews do not buy a vehicle from here. I could have been a regular customer if they were decent and honest, instead I will be taking my vehicle back to the Infiniti dealership for regular maintenance. At least they know how to work on my vehicle and only charge $89. read more

The only thing we were told was it had damage, probably from backing into a mailbox. Wrong!! We also did not like the way we were dealt with. We are so glad that we didn't buy this car. I would give a zero but I can't. I was interested in a new Honda Civic Type R. It's a pretty hott car right now and some dealerships have it priced 5 to 10k above msrp. This dealership had it 2k above. It was at there dealership for about 2 to 3 weeks. I emailed them about the price and we agreed to 500 above msrp contingent on them having a shot at beating my credit unions rate on the financing. I reluctantly agree and submit a credit app on a Monday evening. Three business days go by. I called, I emailed each time someone said that someone will reach you tomorrow. Finally on Friday a manger contacts me and says they have my financing approved. They did not beat my credit union. I told them on Monday I would be getting the car on Saturday. Since they took so long to get back to me on financing I didn't have enough time to get a check from my credit union by Saturday. The manager said that they had someone coming in that evening to look at the car. I said but what about me? He said if you take my financing I will hold the car for tomorrow but if not your out of luck. I said I will get back to you with my answer. As I was about to call him to accept he called and said they sold the car to someone else. It's all about the money! They were able to sell it for more and didn't even care I submitted a credit app and was strung along for a week. Terrible dealership and terrible name. Napleton is terrible! read more

Everyone I talked to was pleasant and helpful. While I waited, I talked to my salesman from 2 years ago and he remembered me. 7/23/2018 I had what I thought was a bad alternator and little time to do anything about it myself. I took it to Napleton Honda in Loves Park and they told me my alternator and battery were both bad but the alternator would take three days to come in. I decided I did not have the time to wait and took it to a local place in Rockton. The mechanic tested my alternator and found that there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. My battery however was almost dead. An honest mom and pop mechanic saved me a few hundred dollars. Either the test equipment was bad or.....(you can do the math on the other option). The quality department actually called and asked me how my experience was and I told them about my disappointment and my suspicions. I expected a call from a higher up with an apology but nothing. I'm in the market for a new vehicle and now I'm intent on driving to Crystal Lake to make my purchase. read more
