We went there the first weekend of October. They have a chicken coop to look at chickens, and offer 2 size plastic bags to purchase. We opted for the smaller 1-peck bag for $25-28 (I forget). Isn't 1-peck supposed to be ~10 lbs or does it go by the # of apples? There's a map posted by apple type, and the aisles have signs at the end that say which apple type they are. We went on the 1-mile long trail that takes you around the orchard and back to the driveway-road you drove on to get to the parking lot. Don't venture off of the trail as parts are on private property, so don't be loud and obnoxious. I don't know where the cost-savings are as the apples for sale in stores cost less per pound. There were a few picnic tables there to sit at, but it seems the price is more so for the experience with the other half, kids, etc. read more

Bought apples for $2.50/lb. and eggs for $5.75. On the way out I saw egg laying chickens with plucked feather and purple treatment on their bare flesh at their hind section indicating some sort of disease in treatment. I then stopped at Dave's Marketplace and saw the same apples for $1.29/lb.. Next time, go to Dave's I guess..... read more

I love narrow lane farm for apple picking!!the prices are littttle high ($10 for about 3-4 pounds of apples) but they have a lot of variety and the apples are so sweet! They have you standard macintosh, gala, honey crips that you can find in the grocery store but also others that you don't often see like liberty, empire, macoun, jonagold etc. It's picturesque here too so if you feel like being a basic-fall-b**** (like me), then put our your flannel, grab a PSL and head over to narrow lane farm for some delicious apples and instagram worthy pics! read more

This orchard is tucked away in the woods off Route 2 in North Kingstown. It's a family-owned farm that offers pick - your - own apples, peaches, and nectarines at different times of the year. It's a quick drive for families in the West Bay / South County area. It's kind of neat to see an orchard of this size that's NOT north of Providence. Not that we are lunch-packers for trips that go more than 20 minutes from our Kent County home, but there is something to be said for having a place this close (10 minutes) to our home. We first discovered this place on a field trip with our oldest son's preschool about two years ago and have visited on our own a couple of times. I brought our family of five there today and we picked a small bag of apples (gala) and peaches (redskins) for $26. I don't recall the pricing exactly, but in doing the quick math in my head when we purchased the bags it didn't seem outrageous. Is it as cheap as the stuff at the market? Tough call. But it doesn't get any fresher. I could never figure out why I do the work, and have to pay more for pick-your-own but I guess the freshness factor does make sense. And it's the experience, folks. You're going to the orchard, smelling the super - ripe fruit, listening to the rustling leaves and spending time with the family (or first date, or friends or getting some alone time away from family and friends). There are tables perfect for picnic lunches or littles (or dads) that need a rest. You could easily spend a couple of hours here. Plenty of parking and not super crowded or commercial. Worth noting that they also sell "drops", fruit that's dropped from the trees) at a rock-bottom price (50c/lb) for bakers or canners out there. Saw some pumpkins, too. Worth the trip. read more

This is great for the occasional family outing where you want to go out and pick apples with the kids, have a party ... This is not the place to go if you are a true seasonal picker looking for the real 'pie/bread/jelly' kind of picking. But... Their area is laid out in easy fashion and located in very short walking distance from the cars. It is very clean and the staff is nice. They do accommodate parties and other gatherings. So, the pricing will reflect it. I found the prices to be about double or triple what you would pay in the store. Their signage is somewhat abrasive and rude 'Fill to only level with the top of the bag' 'Do NOT have lunch on us.' So if you are looking for some place to take the kids, worth the trip. If you are looking to find a place with lots of varieties and pricing that seems somewhat reasonable, you will need to look elsewhere. read more

We stopped here for two reasons: 1) It is very close to our new house. Yay! 2) The sign on Rt. 2 said " PICK YOUR OWN PEACHES". MMMh, I love peaches, and so does my partner in crime. So we drove to the orchard, and approached the stand where two older ladies were perched. This is where it becomes sad. I asked what a tote of peaches costs to pick, and she informed me- -rather rudely : " We ain't doing peaches this year. You can pick nectarines if you want. " Okay, so we decided to pick Nectarines, that's when I noticed they had blackberries, and I love blackberries, so I asked to pick a container of blackberries ( Each container is 5.50, btw. ) However that's when I was brashly informed that it will be 10.50, because we had 2 people in our party and apparently they don't trust you to go in with a friend and only pick one pint worth of blackberries. We informed her that my fiance doesn't like blackberries, and he could stay behind. She then said " Nope, you have to buy two pints. " Listen, I just wanted one god damn pint of blackberries. So instead of giving in, I told her forget about it, and we just went to go pick nectarines. We were told the Nectarines were along the edge of the apples and peaches, but when we came across the rather Pleasant signage ( Sarcasm), there was nothing mentioned about nectarines. Searching high and low, we had to go back to the woman and ask where the damned nectarines were. We were then informed that if you go back to where the blackberries were, there would be a sign. If you could only see the layout of this place, you'd probably understand what a headache it was to be betrayed by poor and "Pleasant" signage. SO upon passing the plentiful grove of blackberries. I ATE SOME. TAKE THAT STINGY FARM. I ALSO ATE AN APPLE AND TWO NECTARINES. NOM NOM NOM. Ahem. Did I mention that the peach trees were so loaded in peaches it was like looking green clouds with peaches decorating them. . .Or something like that. SO after we finished with the nectarines, we went back to the stand and I bought one of their fruit fly, and yellow jacket covered peaches ( Which was $2.00). While buying, I curiously asked why they weren't letting people pick the peaches this year, in which the woman snapped at me: " Cause' their ain't enough for the general public. " Okay, charming. SO you just want to make hand over fist selling your peaches to markets. Then why the hell do you have your sign out on a major road claiming "Pick your own peaches, peach orchard " ??? One more thing about the peaches, when walking by the orchard there was signs claiming: " CHEMICAL APPLIED. DO NOT PICK". Ironically, when you looked at all their fruits, you could see the chemical dusted upon them. Shouldn't you have a sign out that says " Chemical applied to all fruit?" Urgh, I wish I could say I won't be going back to this place, but it's so close and I do love picking apples. read more

This was a total rip off if I ever saw one. I kinda of get into the fall season with apple picking, pumpkin picking and the gorgeous foliage. We were excited to try a new farm however this was not a great experience. It was located deep in the woods- this is not bad. However we were asked to pay for the bags before we picked the apples- this included three options an 8 dollar bag (teeny tiny) a 14 dollar bag (still tiny) and a 24 dollar bag (still not big enough for 24 bucks). We filled 3 of the 14 dollar bags- 42 bucks for three small bags of apples. The orchards contained trees that were pretty bare....tons of families and they even brought their dogs....not sure how I felt about this....but I was probably still stunned by the cost of the experience. Was a bit irritated by the fact that when we went, there were lots of very small apples to pick. Yet located right in the middle of the orchard were these absolutely beautiful trees loaded with some of the biggest apples I've ever seen....problem is, that section was gated off. We asked why we couldn't pick them (this was the only section with green apples, which one in our group will only eat) and were told they were being saved for next week. Soooo, as a paying customer THIS week, I get the junk. Very disappointing. read more

What a wonderful orchard. The setting is so peaceful and the fruit is delicious. I took my three grandchildren there earlier this week and they could have spent hours roaming through the trail taking in all the sights and sounds of nature. Then we proceeded to the apple orchard where the apples were perfect in color, size and "juicyness". We also were able to pick buy some of the peaches that were by far the best I have had this year. I found out that they are also at many of the farmers markets in southern RI and I will be sure to visit them there as well over the next couple of weeks. This weekend looks to be a picture perfect fall weekend and I would highly recommend you take the family here for a stroll through a very well kept orchard with friendly staff and extremely tasty fruit. read more

We've been to Narrow Lane orchard several times over the years, and always enjoyed the experience. They have many varieties of apples, peaches and nectarines plus blueberries, blackberries and raspberries IIRC. The apples and peaches are all clearly marked in rows so they are easy to find, and the orchard is well kept. I can't imagine the poor reviews below alleging high prices. A 1/2 peck bag, about 6 pounds, is $10 - that's about $1.67/pound. A 1 peck bag was $18, about 12 pounds, so about $1.50/pound - for fresh picked, local fruit. Every apple variety in our local grocery store is more than that, and they aren't nearly as fresh. Peaches were $15 for a 1/2 peck bag. There was a larger size bag too, I don't remember the price, but even cheaper per pound. The "ripoff" claim below seems unfair given the prices shown above... They keep chickens (and fresh eggs in limited quantities) too, they seem to be a magnet for kids. Every family that showed up while we were there, the kids piled out and ran to the chicken coop, very cute. Great fruit and a fun outing for families or adults. read more

Went apple picking with the family and had a great time! The place was clean and the people very friendly. Would recommend this to anyone looking to have some good old fashion fun!!! Good Humor beginning with, (signs entering the orchard), not telling, spoiler alert, maybe not P.C. but funny if we can all let it go for 1 minute. Love the place! Folks were pleasant. Not terribly large. Relatively expensive. Good quality apples and peaches.

Pricey, and the woman at the stand was NOT friendly. We wanted to pick peaches, but the only size available for picking is a large $24 bag. When I asked about being able to purchase a less expensive (& smaller!) bag, I was told "Maybe you should try working here and putting in all the work that goes into growing peaches. If you want cheap peaches you can buy the drops from the bargain table." Won't be coming back, which is too bad because they are the only place in S. County & they also "offer" peach picking... If you cater to the public, you need to be able to deal with customers in a friendly way!! read more

I am confused... Their answering machine they are closed for the season?? It's only October 8th. When is apple picking season? I am not sure how you advertise on your we page that you have PYO Apples and Pumpkin picking... Halloween is at the end of the month.
