When I was getting directed to my seat they pointed to where I had to go but I wasn't sure if that was the right aisle. When I asked again the usher gave me attitude and told me to ask someone else. Bad start. The play itself is just ehh. The acting wasn't great although Jeff Daniels did a great job playing Atticus. But everyone else wasn't into character in my opinion and it wasn't much like the original book/movie. I expected more action and better acting. 2 hours and 35 minute play which could've been shorter with the story line they were providing. I wouldn't recommend it.

Hair, A Chorus Line, Hamilton and many other shows had productions at The Public before transferring to Broadway. The plot of the show is based during the summer of 1983, in the sweltering heat of Houston. It talks about an unlikely friendship which is formed when a couple of mid-western rubes with uncertain futures meet up with a slick New Yorker on the run from his past. The disappearance of a WWII artifact(A gun) sets off a chain of events that proves that nothing changes the present like a blast from the past. The characters that populate this new comedy by real-life friends Woody Harrelson and Frankie Hyman are based on real people, though the events depicted are fiction and the names have been changed to protect the not-so-innocent. The cast members did a great job spceially Tyler Jacob Rollinson who played Frankie and debutant Shannon Garland who played Batina. The fun part was also the clips shown on the big screens as soon as plot finished during the show. Definitely one the best shows I have seen till date!

The storyline had you hooked from beginning to end and the entire cast really brought it! The Theatre itself reminds you of a school auditorium so if you plan on attending a play here, I suggest you get there early in order to get a good seat. There's no eating or drinking once you are inside and parking could be a little tricky. Highly recommend either taking the train in or catching an Uber/Taxi.

This year Celebrates 30 years in the theater world, March 23 it will be back at Manhattan: Dempsey Theatre. The location is actually inside a school. Great gospel presentation, even for someone who normally probably does not even listen to Gospel music.

Her journey was sad at times but also sparked incredible laugher at other times. At first glance, you'd think this play would only appeal to middle aged or older women, but surprisingly, the audience was almost 50/50 men/women! Granted, I'm sure the women forced their men to come, but in the end I have a feeling the men enjoyed it also. After all, here was their chance to see/hear what women think about dating and men...and ask questions!! After the show, make sure you stay for the TalkBack! The real Bobby Goldman is there to answer any questions you may have. Interesting conversation which really enhanced the show we just saw! Bobby ends the evening at the bar in the theatre and continued to answer any questions anyone may have. So Cool!

We pulled into the lot and the first thing the guy said when we said we were catching the play was "I don't know where everyone is reading that we have some kind of deal worked out with the theater, because we don't!" Eep. Oops. Bad theater. Lots of great places to grab a bite before the show... And I do recommend getting to the show a half hour early. Very limited seating. Clean bathrooms downstairs. Yummy and cheap drinks and eats at intermission (bring cash... Chocolate cake for a dollar!) But overall a great experience. Just minus one star for the miscommunication on parking.

Prices, of course, were on par with NYC theater prices (a drink costing about $25). We both loved the concert and would definitely come back here for another!

I've been twice...once in the orchestra and once in the mezzanine and there truly isn't a bad seat in the house. The seats are comfortable, spacious, and even have cup holders. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the bathrooms were sparkling clean. Since it's a historic theater, there are no elevators, so be prepared to take the stairs if you're sitting in the mezzanine. Also, the mezzanine has concession stands but no restrooms, so you'll need to go downstairs. Getting inside was a little hectic, but once everyone was seated, everything went smoothly. I recommend arriving early so you can explore the theater and take photos--there are so many beautiful spots. I couldn't take pictures during the show because the Jill Scott concert was acell phone-free experience. The only downside is that the concessions are pricey. My $22 drink from the bar was disappointing and definitely not worth the price. Overall, it's a gorgeous venue, and I'd absolutely come back.
