But even with the added mileage charges U-Haul was the better deal. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and efficient, and he was wearing a bandana tied around his face so we were happy to see that. But what really amazed us is that I never had to fill out and sign any paperwork since I completed the necessary rental forms online. Even when i dropped off the truck there was nothing to sign; my contract and final rental cost was emailed to me. Maybe other rental truck dealers do that too now, I don't know. We had to wait a few minutes for our truck to arrive since it was coming off another rental. The guy swept it out a bit and gave it to us with a full gas tank. He also gave us the important gas saving tip of turning off the tow haul button each time the engine was started. I think a better design would be to have to press that button ON if one needed to haul a trailer instead of having to remember to press it OFF. But the truck did the job and we would rent again from this dealer. But in this era of the coronavirus a sobering thought struck me when I turned on the air conditioner. What if the person who had just returned the truck hadn't worn a face mask (we didn't inside the truck), was infected with the virus, and had possibly left virus-laden aerosolized droplets inside the cab? That's when I decided to leaved the driver's side window rolled down along with having the air conditioner blowing. For long distance moves we still prefer Penske trucks, but for short distances around town we would rent from ABC Storage & RV again.

Had this storage unit for about 4 years, and it served me well going on two deployments, I had an…read moreincident on my first deployment where somehow my card got cancelled and stopped paying for the unit, didn't find out til months after (no internet on the ship) I emailed them and told them I won't be able to do a payment til I get back in the states, I was on the 11 month depressing deployment during Covid, they were understanding. The units are well maintain and clean, great location near base, the only problem I had was the speed bump by the gate, my car was too low for it, so had to drive around it haha or if you accidentally put in the code wrong the system goes in lock down mode for a lil bit. But other than that I had a great experience with them, now that I'm moving to my new command I will miss this place. Thank you for your business!

I called 10 days in advance to reserve a unit. The girl who answered the phone didn't seem too…read moreknowledgeable. She supposedly took my info and claimed there would be a $10 reservation fee that would apply to my first months rent. When I arrived to move in to the unit, there was no record of my reservation and they gave away my requested unit and gave me a horrible unit that had a small door and was in a corner which made it difficult for me to move my large objects. It took almost 45 minutes for the girl to open my account and she kept having to call the manger at home with questions. Then she didn't enter my credit card appropriately and it kept declining and she called the manager again and put her on the phone with me and she talked down to me like I was some low-life and told me that she would allow me to move my belongings into the unit but I needed to bring her cash within 24 hours. I called my bank to find out what the problem was with the credit card and it turned out the clueless girl was not entering the security code for proper authorization. Once she did the card went through. What a joke. By then it was begging to get dark and we had wasted too much time. The next week I stopped in to talk with the manager about my disappointment with the check-in process, and she lied right to my face about the whole thing. Not just once but twice. When I expressed my concern that I had asked for a heated unit, which it clearly states on the website that they have heated units, she said we don't have heated units, but they are kept out of the elements so they are climate controlled. What a joke. She said she couldn't make any monetary adjustments to my account but could give me a 20% discount on a rental truck in the future. Again, what a joke. I could get a coupon for 20%off a Budget truck rental online. I would highly recommend you store your belongings somewhere else. The management at Pacific Storage is awful. I could go on with other problems, but I think this gives you enough of an idea of the poor customer service you should expect.
