I was given great after hours service in an attempt to get my SUV back on the road in order to continue my trip east. Wayne and his crew were extremely friendly, fair and accommodating to my situation. Wayne allowed me to store my SUV in his compound in order for me to make other arrangements to get it to our destination at no extra charge. The office atmosphere was friendly an interactive while waiting for some initial repairs. I feel the pricing of the afterhours/following day repairs was fair and competitive to other establishments, if not better. Thanks Wayne and crew, see you again soon. read more

major rip-off dishonest charged me over $6000.00 to fix my standard stick shift and lied about my brakes needing replacing went to the shop to check out pricing and they showed my brakes had lots of pad left. warning do not deal with these scammers. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO MY WORST ENEMY!! HORRIBLE SERVICE!! I have a truck and trailer repair shop in BC and have been in business for over 10 years. One of our customer's, whose truck we had recently worked on, ended up at Narvi's Auto Service in Thunder Bay, Ontario. We were charged $900.00 to install a bolt on the clutch linkage; a job that takes less than half an hour and something that we would do for our customers at no charge. Not only that, when we asked them to revise the company name to our company name, as we were paying the bill for our customer, they sent us a new invoice that was $125.00 more!! When I called to inquire as to why the invoice was now $1025.00, Janet told me it was because there was an admin charge to change the company name...SERIOUSLY!!! That is something that takes about a minute and something we have done for our customers multiple times...we would never even think about charging for something like that...RIDICULOUS!!! If you ever breakdown near this shop, pay the tow charge and get your vehicle towed to a reputable shop...you will save $$$ in the end!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE TO THIS SHOP OR YOU WILL GET RIPPED OFF!!! read more

Where do I start? The entire interaction with Narvi's was one sided and a struggle for any shred of honesty. 1) I took a vehicle in for safety inspection as part of my decision to purchase. Narvi's quoted me $1700 in parts and service. I bought the car and gave Narvi's the green light to begin repairs. The next phone call I receive from them is a price hike to $3000. Now that I own the vehicle and they've begun repairs I'm stuck with an inflated bill. 2) The same vehicle, it needed the battery replaced so I asked them to replace it with the one from my old car. They told me they did, they didn't and charged an extra $200 for a replacement. 3) The head gasket on the vehicle is leaking. According to another mechanic this isn't a new leak. Narvi's neglected to tell me about this issue. Granted it is not part of a safety inspection but they knew very well I was considering purchasing the vehicle. (Convenient that their buddies across the street were selling the vehicle) 4) The tires they put on my car are leaking, the new wipers are obviously used and need to be replaced and the rear wiper is inoperative. This all happened two months ago and I'm still in amazement that sneaky shops like these are still in the world. Normally I'm not this vicious but if I can spare just one person from aggravation and financial stress then I feel it's my duty as a citizen to speak up. read more

Had heard many bad things before about Narvi's from locals, yet I still went anyways cause they had an opening. Guess theres reasons why you can get an appointment no problem. Well it bit me in the butt. Charged me 300$ to wiggle a wire. My traction control/ABS came on. I told them to fix it and it was possibly a wheel bearing or hub assembly causing the sensor to be lite up. Went in there and paid. Found out that they had done absolutely nothing. They said they just wiggled a wire and it went out. Charged me 300$ for something I could have done myself. Didn't fix anything. Never again. Avoid them like the plague. Oh ya and a week later the light came on. I wonder why! It wasn't fixed!!!! read more

My son had a very bad experience with Narvi's Auto Service who is the Mr. Transmission franchise holder in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He contacted them about his transmission on the phone, told them what the problem was and what he wanted to do to fix it. You have to understand that he was only 18 years old and his truck was the world to him. He was so happy when they told him it could be fixed for $1100. When he went to pick the truck up it was almost $1700, and if I might add, they never contacted him to tell him it would be more than the original estimate. He was still happy to have his truck back so he paid the bill and went on his way. Many problems happened with the transmission and it kept going back to the shop. Finally, he decided to take it to another shop for a second opinion and the owner of Narvi's even managed to hunt it down at the other shop and basically asked them to not touch the truck, that it was his repair and he wanted to make it right. Long story short, $6000 later and 8 months in and out of the shop, finally they tell him they can not fix it. He took it to another transmission shop and within a short period of time, they determined that it was all a waste of his hard earned money. They told him he could have got a rebuilt transmission and all the other problems that needed to be addressed for less than the amount of money he put out to still not have anything. Mr. Transmission's head office would not do anything either. I am not saying that his truck was perfect when it went in to the shop, he was trying to put a different transmission in his truck than the one that came in it in the first place, but he made Narvi's aware of what it was that he was trying to do. The truck has large tires and a lift kit, typical young man's truck. When he got it back, he towed on of his friends out of the ditch and this is the reason that Narvis's tells him that wrecked the transmission. I know alot of young men that have trucks like his, and that is what they do with them, play in the mud and snow, get stuck, pull each other out and go back at it again. If they would have found the problems before they went so far, he would have stop sinking money into it. They are supposed to be the "transmission experts" and they should have figured it out before it cost him $6000 and he still has no truck!!!! Very unhappy customers!!! read more
