They are amazing here, they will literally show you what's wrong with your vehicle when you go there. I was able to walk into the back of the shop and see what was wrong. The guys explained it very well and even helped me with bringing the price down to make sure I got what I really needed on my car first. I reallly recommend coming here. Instead of looking for the battery my 79 year old father wanted for $80, the man tried selling him one for $150. 4 of the $80.in stock, he even tried to get us to drive across town to the other store... instead of looking for one of the 4 in stock. When I joined my dad at the counter to question, we got a clearly annoyed person who couldn't look himself online and made sure we knew how the battery was in wrong spot. Made appointment to have my brakes done - was given an appointment time of 10am. drive 2 hours (from out of town) to find when I went to drop off that they were not sure they could complete the job today. when asked why, was informed they were busy. the appointment time was just for drop off and not confirmation that the job would be completed that day. it was a 50/50 chance they would even look at the car extremely disappointed as we made a special trip for the appointment that was made a week prior. disappointed that the appointment time was not an actual time they would look at car. customer service sucks read more

Simple tire repair (2 tires) and an oil change took more than 3 hours. After I left my low pressure warning light came on. When checked one of the tires was over-inflated by more than 10psi, COLD. Neither of the wheels was balanced! When I returned to complain I was told that I will need to wait a week before they can balance the tires and that it will take approximately 2 hours! They even refused to acknowledge that the cost of repairs included balance (despite the printed out receipt spelling it out)! After nearly 30 years of using CT auto service I will no longer be a customer. Terrible service during and after the job was completed. Extremely disappointing. read more

I went in to the vehicle service and picked out a set of winter tires: I was told i didn't need to make a deposit or buy the tires until they were installed I just an appointment for the tires: so I took a day off work to bring in my truck. when I arrived in the evening 2 weeks later for my appointment I dropped off my keys and wandered around the store a bit until I was paged. turned out they sold my tires and didn't tell me or replace them, they said it would be at least a month until another set arrived (this is November) and more or less tough i should have bought the tires ahead of time. got a lot of shrugs of indifference from the service department so I left. took my business to fountain tire and they were excellent: I'll never get so much as air freshener from the Thunder Centre Canadian Trash. read more

I bought at car port for $549. Noticed a week later it was on sale for $419 so I went to the Canadian Tire website and was happy to see they have a price adjustment policy. Canadian Tire guarantees to refund the difference if you return to the store within 14 days of original purchase. I went to the Fort William Rd location and was told they do not honour this policy because it is owned separately so they make up their own policies. I left and went to Arthur St and they immediately refunded me my $130. I told them about my experience at Fort William Rd and they said to report it to the national office because all Cdn Tire stores must honour published policies. I did and was told they were going to investigate. I will no longer shop at Ft Wm Rd and will always go to Arthur St. The service is always better there anyways and they are much more organized read more

Their inventory does not match what is physically there. Twice in a row they did not have the items I was looking for, and their website + staff claimed it was there, but could not find it. For a multi million dollar company they have to get their act together. Old workers who are not helpful, or efficient. Avoid this store! read more

Is there a way to get a hold of the security camera record for the time my car was parked there? I went there yesterday Monday afternoon and waited to get wheel alignment. During that time, my crank was broken. It sure wasn't before that as I just got my car saftied not even two weeks ago. I go in for one thing and then all of a sudden you just want me to dish out more money? I'm straight irked. Was left speechless on April 26, 2019... Went in 5 days earlier to get a quote to have the water pump replaced on a stock 2013 Dodge 5.7 Ram 1500, in addition I asked for a quote on the cost of doing a complete cooling system flush and change the thermostat at same time. All good at this point, quoted a cost $674.81. Go back a day before payday to ask about the .8 hrs labour they are estimating in the quote to replace the thermostat... given the thermostat will literally be falling out when they take off the old water pump I thought they were double dipping on the labour cost they were building in... the labour for the water pump replacement was quoted as 2.3 hours. At this point the guy behind the desk says "They might look at the labour on the thermostat but you know that quote you have means nothing." What followed was a 10 minute conversation about estimated costs and repeated statements that the estimate they provided isn't worth the paper it was printed on. The only way I was going to get a true cost was to bring the truck in and pay a $50.00 fee to have the truck inspected first. Returned the following morning, decided based on my previous conversation I would just have the water pump changed, forget replacing the thermostat and forget the coolant system flush... the quoted price of $109.00 to flush the cooling system was also disputed by the guy behind the desk, his claim was the price didn't include replacing the fluid... At any rate I tell the next guy I'm dealing with on the 26th that I want my water pump changed, he asks how I know it needs changing... well its leaking and I can hear the impeller clanking around! I had him my keys and he slides a work order in front of me to sign, its a work order priced out at $54.00 to inspect my vehicle. I ask if the $54.00 is going to go towards the price of changing the water pump once he confirms it needs changing and he say no! And they won't perform any work on my truck unless I pay for the inspection... I walked, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I placed my order on April 26th, waited 11 days, called them twice and both times was reassured that the order will be ready in a couple of days On May 8 I received an email that my order was cancelled as per my request! I never cancelled it. I ordered from Canadian Tire on Arthur street several times before that and my orders were ready the next day. Will not deal with this store anymore. read more

Stock isn't always priced the same as on the web or the app, never have an issue with getting it reduced to the web price, it is a hassle though, to go through the process. Look and make a list before you go or have the app ready to scan and check prices ! Most times staff are unaware of deals or promotions but genuinely try to help you find the information or product you are looking for. Good job guys and gals read more

What a dump! You cannot get down the aisles, because they are full of merchandise. If you find a member of the staff (and that is a big if), they do not know where anything is and just walk away without helping you. Their prices do not match those on the website, and thus are more expensive. They will not try to match it either. read more

I made an order April 20th. It is now April 30th and I have not had a confirmation e-mail yet. I tried driving to the Canadian Tire Store on Fort William Rd in Thunder Bay and I was told it should be a couple days. That was three days ago. I was also told to try cancelling my order and ordering over the phone since phone orders go through within two days. I tried calling their number (807 623 1999) with the extentions 122 and 123 MULTIPLE times, MULTIPLE days and those numbers were never answered. I looked at the google reviews that were replied to and people were told to call customer service at 1800 387 8803. I called that number and AGAIN was not able to be connected. This is a very frustrating experience. Especially since I made an order via e-mail with the Arthur St Canadian Tire and got my product the next day. Unfortunately the item I ordered on the 20th was not available at the Arthur St branch or I would have gotten it there. I have learned my lesson however, Never Again Fort William Road. Horrifying customer service... I was having trouble with my Canadian Tire Money card and the young cashier mimicked me to another cashier, it was appalling... I tried to contact the general manager about this issue TWICE and he never called me back. He must not think that cashiers making fun of customers is worthy of a phone call. Thought i would let everyone know about buying tires from canadian tire.I have been buying tires from them for over 30 years now but then when there is something wrong with the tire they just IGNOR YOU and then they say its because you needed a wheel alignment but funny thing is I DID HAVE A WHEEL ALIGNMENT DONE BEFORE THE TIRES WERE PUT ON but they wont honar there warenty for the tire.SO I THOUGHT I WOULD LET EVERYONE KNOW ABOUT THERE SERVICE IF YOU WERE SMART GO SOME WHERE ELSE TO BUY YOUR TIRES YOU WILL THEN HAVE WARRENTY ON THEM CAUSE CANADIAN TIRE DOES NOT HONAR THERE WARRENTY WHAT SO EVER I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER TIRE FROM THEM AS LONG AS I LIVE THEY HAVE TOTALLY LOST MY BUSNESS . read more
