If there is a specific deadline or requirement for a deposit to secure a date, that should be clearly communicated to the customer before accepting the booking and sending an invoice. I feel the communication and professionalism were extremely poor. I made the payment in good faith after we had confirmed the date, and I should not have been left with the impression that everything was secured if it wasn't. He spent about 12 hours with us and never once complained. He was always helpful, especially when unloading our bags, and made the entire day run seamlessly. One of the highlights was when he happily stopped so we could watch and take pictures of a bear we spotted in Yosemite. That extra bit of flexibility made the trip even more memorable.
