They do not wear gloves when preparing sandwiches and handling ready made food.

I fell upon this place on a whim. I was strolling Bushwick and was enticed by the photos of their…read morearepas. I can confirm that they look the way they are advertised! And they taste delicious. I felt like the servings were huge!!! Immediately walking in, I was greeted and sat down. My order was taken quickly too. It was a busy day but my food still came out within 10 minutes. And good thing too because I was starving. I got the pollo arepa and pollo empanada. Looovveee how soft the pollo empanada is... it's so dang fluffy. That was my first time having an empanada with that kind of dough. I have to say that I prefer it. Wish Filipinos used that dough when we make our empanadas. lol. The pollo arepa was everything!!! I had never had an arepa until the day I had one here. The meat was seasoned so nicely in their tomato based sauce. And the actual arepa... soft yet had a bit of a crunch. It was the perfect textures for me. I also enjoyed their soursop juice. It paired perfectly with my meal. My friend got the pernil arepa and was impressed by the taste and the green sauce. I didn't get much information out of him other than it was hitting the spot lol. Definitely a solid place to go in the area. It's kind of medium sized in there but there is plenty of seating if you're with a party no bigger than 3 or 4 people. I think most people come in here for a grab and go situation. But it's cool to hang around to watch the kitchen at work and hear the music.

They seemed really…read morebusy so I stepped away for 20min and when I came back the guy at the register had forgotten my order and made it on the spot. When I had gotten home, I realized he had given me the wrong order. I had to walk back to the restaurant. When I explained the mistake, the employee at the register (wearing black square glasses) became defensive and repeatedly insisted that the error was my fault. Instead of handling the situation professionally, he spoke to me in a demeaning and confrontational manner. I have an auto immune disease where I am limited to what I can eat. He didn't want to redo my order because "it was my fault" and I told him what he gave me I cannot eat, so he finally agreed. I was done arguing with him so I stood their silently. The whole entire time as they were re-making the order he repeatedly tells me that this was my mistake and not his. I get that the misunderstanding may have been partly my fault because I wasn't specific in which chicken option I wanted, and I acknowledged that to him. However, that does not justify speaking to a customer in a belittling or disrespectful manner. Mistakes happen, but the way this situation was handled was completely unprofessional. Because of this experience, I will not be returning, and I would not recommend this restaurant to others in the Bushwick community.

The menu changes constantly and you can find the latest menu on their Instagram stories which they update daily. As a rule of thumb, plan to get dessert. The dark chocolate tiramisu slice we were served was healthy in size, rich in flavor and perfect to split between the two of us. I tend to order 3 dishes (one protein and two side dishes) when coming in with a friend. The dishes are always a reminder of how simple ingredients can be combined to create fantastic flavors. As a note, the Chicken Cutlet was perfectly crisp and now I feel inclined to stop in for lunch and grab a sandwich. The wines are definitely selected by someone who has a preference for funky I almost want to say musky flavors. Never really found something there that I liked which is the only drawback to this place. Get a reservation, this place can be packed very quickly. It's also good for small groups, I've seen many a birthday dinner take place here.

Very disappointed with this spot and was rudely accused of not paying the bill!…read more Came here extremely excited to try out their birthday cake tiramisu and check out the restaurant in general since it had been on my list for a while. While the place is pretty cute aesthetically, the service was awful. I had made a reservation since that's what's recommended by the establishment and everyone we interacted with was pretty unpleasant. In addition, the cake tasted old and so freezer burnt that we had one bite and discarded the rest. Nothing about it was appealing. Worst of all no one seemed to want to wait on us so we spent the whole time trying to flag someone down so we left cash on the table for everything and left. Dispute all this we decided to still tip 30% since our order was so small and we wanted to be courteous. 15 mins later I get an extremely rude phone call from the restaurant immediately accusing me of leaving without paying! They didn't even have the decency to check the table without immediately assuming and being unbelievable disrespectful. Still in disbelief about the entire experience, would not recommend this establishment to anyone.

Being Angelenos, it's VERY hard to find ANYTHING that is open IN-STORE after 10 or 11pm...even on the weekend!! We were so happy to find this establishment while walking between bars and starting to feel very hungry! Also, it doesn't hurt that the pizza here is also EXCELLENT! Having visited L'Industrie earlier in the week, which I absolutely LOVED, I was very pleasantly surprised to find the pizza slices here to be quite comparable in taste, quality, and size. It's also a very bright, open, warm, and welcoming space within. Service was prompt and efficient, if not a tad bit curt...although I give them grace...considering the fact we were visiting late at night around 2am. Anyways...if it was THAT good when we went in the middle of the night...I feel I can confidently recommend this spot as great for grabbing pizza slices. It's definitely worth a visit, in my book!
