So, I asked around to some of my native Polish friends what was the best place to get the best kielbasa in Greenpoint Brooklyn and this place came highly recommended. I live in Queens, so I took a ride over. First off- parking is a real pain, but that's my only complaint here lol Once I found a spot, there was a line that actually was out the door. I knew once I saw that- this place HAS to be good. Anyway, the line moved fairly quickly. They have multiple employees working fast behind the counter. It's not a very large place so I understand the line haha Once inside- my gosh- it smells amazing in there. Fresh smoked kielbasa rings everywhere. They also have tons of Polish pastries and breads all aligned around the store. All employees were very knowledgeable as to what I was looking for. I wasn't aware of how many different types of kielbasa there was! They also speak fluent Polish and English. I go to Greenpoint, Brooklyn when I want to have traditional Polish meals. I accidentally stumbled upon this shop a few years ago when, during the holidays, the shop a block away had a very long line. I have been a customer of this place ever since. They offer a variety of kielbasa and other delicious meats. Although most of the staff and customers spoke in Polish, they immediately sent someone who spoke English to help with my selections. But it is especially crazy around Easter and Christmas. The Poles love their bakeries and meats for the holidays. This is one of the many great markets in Greenpoint. It is extremely tight inside, so chances are if you show up here around any holiday, you will be standing outside. Upon entering you will be able to purchase such delicacies as the delicious smoked ham or the Canadian style bacon. People in the tri-state area come here and order food for the holidays. Originally born in Poland, it doesn't get better than here. If you like smoked sausage you get the darker one, if not go for the lighter in color Podlaska and sky is the option. The best sausage for grilling and camping. Perfect for pierogis and onions, or just eggs and sausage on the side, or diced and bits and pieces with whatever you choose. Everything is always fresh, try the raw smoked bacon in thick slices and throw that on the grill you won't regret it. Also a favorite is the blood sausage ( kaszanka ). Slice it open, add onions garlic spicy bbq seasoning, wrap it in aluminum foil and give it about 20 minutes with a few turns. The trick around the holidays and long lines is that you call and place an order. Instead of waiting online around the ridiculous lines you go inside and pick up your order. Also this establishment closed down for a period of time. Owner wanted to sell. It is now opened again and functioning as it was ever since I arrived to NY from Poland. read more

This place is all about the ham and cheese. The butchers here are mostly polish speaking and are very friendly, the lines can get very long as this is a popular meat market as they have very high quality locally made products. They do carry some fresh meats but their specialty is the cured stuff. They have probably 50 varieties of bacon, hams, and sausages. My recommendation is each a half pound of smoked Polish cheese(I wish i knew it's real name), black forest ham, and boczik (pressed, salted & cooked bacon), a loaf of light rye bread, a jar of spicy mustard, and a jar of pickles. If you like kilbasa you would also be in luck here as they have a delicious assortment of hunters sausage, traditional blood sausages, perfect frankfuters, and double smoked wedding sausages. The double smoked are my favorite. They are perfect for flavoring pea soups or gently scored and grilled over coals. read more
