Amanda was great with Elphie except Elphie growled at her which was completely the owners fault(me).

They don't upsell us on unnecessary products or procedures. They know us and our pups and their history. They make us feel like family when we visit. They always answer the phone and they always follow-up. Prices are reasonable too. We recommend our family and friends to them and they get the same treatment. We can't say enough good things about them. Highly recommended.

Cleo met Kevin today who took all her vitals and was so sweet to her. Dr. Norstrud came in very shortly there after to exam Cleo again. We agreed that blood tests were in order just to rule out any organ issues which could be happening. Cleo is a very chilled dog and Kevin was so sweet talking to her while Dr. N was taking her blood. Cleo did not flinch or winch or even growl. It was fast and done and she was a trooper. After the results came back, everything was normal which was a relief, so Dr.N suggested another medication and continued special diet for the next few days and then reconnect back on Monday if she is not doing better. The doctor felt confident that this is a severe gastrointestinal issue which will just take time to pass. Dr. Norstrud also discussed different dog nutrition and what might be best after we get past the tummy trouble. So the recommendations for getting well is Prescriptions, special food and lots of love. What else could my Cleo need to feel better! 5 star service from Dr. Norstrud and Taylor and Kevin are pawriffic in Cleopatras book! The ladies at the front desk are also awesome for ease of check out and service! Love this place!

All of the folks at 4 Paws gave Harley unprecedented attention and compassion over many years, with such gentleness and care. At no time did we ever feel that 4 Paws was suggesting care for Harley that was anything other than in his best interest. These people are truly animal lovers, all of whom genuinely care deeply and personally about every one of their patients. Everyone at 4 Paws definitely cared as much about Harley as I did. When it was discovered, very suddenly that Harley was ill, he was immediately scheduled by 4 Paws with Oak Creek Veterinary Hospital, and he was admitted for surgery within a couple of hours. Harley had Splenetic Cancer, which had metastasized to his other organs. This is an illness not uncommon, but even with today's technology, it still cannot pinpoint a cause. At 56 days old, Harley became accustomed to falling asleep in my arm, with his head on my shoulder. Every night the ritual of him laying on a shoulder with my arm around him, looking into my eyes as I told him a bedtime story, until he fell asleep never changed. I savored every night. Just 9 1/2 years old seems way too short. But, in that 9 1/2 years, we weren't apart for 72 hours total. Every day, he would lay under my desk as I got through the work that I needed to do, then it was walk time. Harley would scream and tear around the house at words like "walk," "ride in the truck," "go swimming," "rollerblading" and "frisbee." He would never start eating his breakfast or dinner alone. He would only eat after we also sat down to have a meal together. Afterword, the tradition was to sit stubbornly in front of his toy closet until one of us got him a chew toy. I have had the blessings of loving and being loved in my life, but nothing compares to the bond and companionship I had with this sweet little pal, Harley. This little guy will rest in my heart forever... Harley had one hard evening. By 3:00 AM, Harley was telling us that it was time. We drove through the early morning hours to arrive at 4 Paws at 7:00 AM. They immediately took him in, handled him with such gentleness and care, and provided him with such a peaceful and dignified cross over the Rainbow Bridge. There was not a dry eye at 4 Paws. They are so caring and such wonderful people. Thank you all at 4 Paws for helping us in our greatest time of need. We all will hold Harley in our hearts.

I called several vets to see if he could be seen the next day on emergency basis. This was a Thursday. CC of Fernandina checked with Doctor to see if the could squeeze me in between appointments, luckily YES , on Friday. That saw Max, did X-rays and found there was a hairball in the intestines. Gave fluids and anti-nausea shot. Sent us home with anti-nausea pills and instructions to get him to eat. Following Monday, he was doing better, but still not the same. They called to check on him and offered to see him that day. I deferred and they made time for him on Wednesday. They squeezed him in again and things were looking better, but doctor suggested I make an appointment in Jacksonville for 3D imaging if necessary and not pay emergency fee if required. Fortunately I got to cancel JAX appointment as Max is back to himself. CCF gave instructions on helping prevent hairballs. Very caring Doctor and staff!!!

We were referred to this facility by Exotic Bird Hospital when our bird had a medical emergency in…read morethe middle of the night and they were closed. We made the hour drive to Fernandina because we were told this was the best option for emergency care. Our bird was screaming in distress and clearly appeared to be in significant pain. When we arrived, they took her immediately, placed her in her small carrier inside an oxygen tank, and left her there. She continued screaming. We waited two hours before speaking with anyone. We were told she was "doing better" and had stopped screaming. I asked to see her, and when we were brought to the back, we could immediately hear her still screaming. When I got to her cage, she still appeared to be in pain. In total, she was screaming for a minimum of four hours without meaningful intervention beyond being placed in oxygen. We were told they would perform bloodwork and X-rays the next day. The following day, we were told bloodwork had not been done because she became agitated, which is understandable--but there was no communication about trying again later. Later, we were told X-rays were done and that bloodwork had also been completed. After 2.5 days, we were told she was doing much better and ready to go home on medication. While driving an hour and a half from Jacksonville to pick her up, I received a call saying there was now a new treatment plan that would cost an additional $1,000-$1,500 (bringing the total to around $3,000), and that she would need to stay longer--despite just being told she was ready to go home. When I asked about the results of the bloodwork and X-rays, they still did not have answers. We chose to pick her up anyway. After getting home, I received only the X-ray images--there was no written report--and no bloodwork results were ever provided, despite being told it had been done. Overall, it felt like very little was actually done for her during the 2.5 days she was there beyond being placed in a cage and minimally handled. We still have no clear diagnosis or answers, and she is not acting like herself. The medication has left her very sedated, and now we will have to seek care elsewhere and incur additional costs. Looking back, I wish I had taken her somewhere else sooner. This was a stressful, expensive experience that did not provide the care, communication, or follow-through we expected.

If you have any other option- do not go here…read more Goes without saying my dog needed medical attn for me to take him here. Our normal vet couldn't accommodate short notice. After waiting 4hrs - summary - they did nothing except give my dog a medicine that caused an adverse reaction, which only made his medical condition WORSE. When she told me this-- she even said- some dogs have the opposite reaction we expect. What?!?!? Then why are you still prescribing it!!!!! The "doc" onsite (turns out just a vet assistant) was incompetent at best, her only mission seemed to be to bring in as much revenue as possible-vs diagnosis or treating my dog. Then the Coup de grâce--- after telling me the medicine she gave my dog to help perform a required test didn't sedate him- it made him hyper- so they couldn't perform the test....... They hand me a bill that not only has trumped up charges but far worse----- says I "declined" the test!!!!! The INCOMPETENCE at this office is insurmountable and unfathomable. At the time of this post I still do not know if my dog will be ok- thanks to them. We still have 2more hours before the effect of their idiocy wears off (according to them), only to wait and determine safety of ORIGINAL issue.
