PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT: Cultural Care Au Pair Fraud & Federal Non-Compliance…read more Our experience with Cultural Care Au Pair in Ardsley, NY, has been a nightmare of document fraud, safety breaches, and corporate retaliation. If you are a parent who values the safety of your children, read this before signing a contract. 1. Vetting Fraud (Documented by Geico): The agency's profile for our au pair claimed she had been licensed since 2022. Our insurance carrier (Geico) ran a formal DMV check and proved she was not licensed until December 17, 2024. Cultural Care placed a novice driver with under 4 months of experience in our home. 2. Federal Non-Compliance (22 CFR § 62.31): Despite paying thousands in fees, the agency failed to meet basic U.S. Department of State regulations: Total Lack of Oversight: We were cycled through 5 different LCCs in 5 months. Safety Breaches: Our LCC failed to perform the mandatory in-person orientation and home visit. Unauthorized Strangers: We have Ring camera footage documenting our au pair bringing unvetted strangers into our home. When we reported this, the agency did nothing. Abandonment: The au pair abandoned her post mid-week, yet the agency (LCC) forced us to pay her a full weekly stipend for zero childcare. 3. Retaliation & The "Gag Order" Refund: When we demanded that the program function as advertised and follow federal laws, Director chose to terminate our family from the program rather than address the safety fraud. They are now withholding our refund for unused fees unless we sign a "Release of Claims"--a legal gag order designed to hide their negligence. We have refused to sign. 4. Corporate Hostility: Director and the corporate office have ignored our evidence of contract breach and are attempting to silence a family that caught them in a lie. They prioritize their "Matching Fees" over the life and safety of your children. DO NOT trust Cultural Care with your kids. They are not a childcare agency; they are a liability.

I only have great things to say about my experience working with Boston Collegiate Nannies. As a…read morefirst time mom, I had a hard time wrapping my head around letting someone else care for my child. The search process for a caregiver felt extremely overwhelming, and I was worried that despite my best efforts I would not find someone properly qualified to take care of my son. Thankfully, I found Boston Collegiate Nannies. My husband and I could not be happier with our nanny. She is wonderful and a tremendous help to our family. Our son lights up when she arrives in the morning, and she is clearly invested in his happiness and development. She is organized, engaged, and makes us feel confident that our child is in good hands. When we began our childcare search I found it to be extremely stressful; however, my first conversation with Lydia at BCN put my mind at ease. She clearly demonstrated industry knowledge, and she took a thoughtful, detailed inventory of the qualities that my husband and I were looking for in a nanny. Throughout the search process Lydia was extremely communicative and diligent, providing regular status updates and efficient follow up to any conversations we had with candidates. All of the candidates that Lydia recommended for interviews were excellent, and we could tell that she carefully considered the criteria that we discussed. I do not think that we would have had such a successful outcome in our childcare search without the help of Lydia and her team at BCN. Both my husband and I were extremely impressed by our experience working with BCN and would highly recommend them!!

My sister, who just started a position through BCN, referred me to them. I have been pleasantly surprised by the whole. Lydia and her team have been very helpful, professional and punctual. They respond to emails in a timely manner and are working very hard to keep the process as quick as possible. BCN takes the hard work out of the job search. From start to finish they assist you in finding a job. From interviewing you before they send your information to a family each time to checking in regularly to see how things are going. They even have a free training for each nanny called the "Savvy Sitter" training. It goes over the ins and outs of being a nanny. I am excited to finalize everything and start my new position soon. This is my first time working with an agency and I don't think I'll go back to looking for a job without one.

I recall visiting multiple daycares before enrolling our daughter. While the corporate daycares seemed fine, I couldn't escape the sense that most of the staff members we encountered saw their job as mostly just that: a job. The vibe from RCCC staff felt very different. The staff seemed engaged in their roles in a deeper way - they maintained a sense of high professionalism in parallel with an abiding affection for the children that transcended a paycheck. One shouldn't undersell their professionalism, though. The staff will happily discuss the philosophy behind their tactics for stimulating the children's development - a goal that they ceaselessly pursue. People say that no one will ever care for your child the way that you (as a parent do). Maybe so, but the RCCC team comes awfully close.

Both my kids attend RCCC and it is about as special a place as you can get; so much so that I…read morecontinue to schlep my kids there after moving from Cambridge to Brookline. There is a core group of teachers who have been here for 5, 10, 15 years, even, and there is a real effort to build community and do right by every child, every family, and every staff member. Professional development and pedagogy inspired by the Reggio Emilia tradition is a central value; teachers are encouraged and at times sponsored to attend workshops and conferences to stay current and engaged, and they take consensus very seriously even when it comes to teaching -- teachers take cues from the children's interests and shape curriculum accordingly. RCCC invests in its teachers and it absolutely shows. It's a pretty diverse group of families - lots of other languages flying around. The site has its own spacious playground (with two large play structures and a huge sandbox) so the kids have a safe space to place outdoors, including trikes, ball games, building forts, and gardening. A small "jumping room" for kids to get active even in inclement weather. They make frequent use of the Harvard campus, with whom they are affiliated, so you'll often see RCCC kids playing in the courtyards and grassy spaces around the college dorms. They're right by the Charles, so expect your kid to come back obsessed with Canadian geese for a while. And curriculum is enriched by regular visitors who play music, teach hip-hop, and bring new experiences to the kids (firemen, policemen, farm animals). For the older classrooms, swimming, soccer, and dance are also incorporated, pulling together a really rich and diverse experience. Boring stuff: it's competitively priced with the bigger corporate daycares, 12 month contracts, enrollment is in the Fall, so kids stay together the whole school year and generally move up together, something that contributes to the community feel and strong relationships. Teacher ratio goes well above Mass regs (e.g. 4 teachers to 7 infants) and teams work real well together. RCCC will take kids from 4 months up through pre-K. Hours are 8:15am to 5:30pm. Small parking lot for pick-up and drop-off...sometimes it does get crowded, but Harvard Sq. real estate is what it is. The one minor frustration is that it's linked to the Harvard system, so whenever Harvard has its holidays on top of the regular Mass. holidays, RCCC is also closed, so you're talking one week in March, two weeks in the summer, and one week in the winter where you're scrambling for alternate care if you have to work. Snacks are provided, but you pack your own (nut-free) lunch for the kids. Progress reports and parent-teacher meetings scheduled 2x a year. But it all comes back to the amazing teachers. I can't say good enough things about them -- they'll work with you and whatever parenting concerns and phases you're going through at home. The director is a steady presence and is accessible and responsive to parent concerns when they arise. Ultimately, this feels like a community, not a business, and I'm going to be real sad when it comes time to leave.

It is a cooperative so parents head the various committees and get to set the various policies but there is a director and teachers so nit parent run. The teachers are wonderful, creative, loving, I cant say enough good things really. They create many opportunities for children to explore and discover. Also, parents can volunteer to spend time in the classroom which is super fun. The classrooms are spacious and inviting with lots of windows and there is a giant playroom in the center of school for those days that outside play isn't an option. The school has a very large fenced yard that has trees, giant sand pit with water pump, track for biking/scooting/push alongs, and garden. It is truly a gem.
