Today I went and I'm beyond thrilled with the result. Lindsey isn't just a stylist. She's a chemist. She knew about every step and why she was doing it. She explained it all to me as this was a huge change. She gave me a lot of info and feedback about care, maintenance, and how to repair some hair damage I had. FINALLY a guy in PA (or heck, I drove 50min from Jersey) who can style/cut Asian hair!! As mentioned in previous reviews, Norio is a MASTER at cutting hair. I'm used to having a shoulder length cut, layered, and thinned out sort of style (if you watch anime, think Sakura from Naruto). I've had awesome haircuts from Japan-trained stylists in Hawaii... And thank goodness I've finally found one in PA!! Norio was trained in Japan (their stylist schools are way more rigorous than those in the states) and he is an EXPERT with using an old school ultra sharp barber razor to cut/shape/thin-out hair. Norio took his time with my cut, studying my hair, observing the waves/parts/tendencies of my hair, noting my facial features and bone structure in order to decide how to best cut my hair. He kept telling me that he was trying hard to give me a nice style that would also be very easy to take care of - wash and wear, even without having to blow-dry it! He said if I was not satisfied, that I should feel free to come back and he will fix it (though I am LOVING the cut and I doubt I'll have to go back for any fixes). It just shows he cares about customer satisfaction and he wants you to leave happy with awesome hair! Norio's salon is NEWLY RENOVATED and is very attractive and clean! The staff and other hair stylists working with him are VERY FRIENDLY and remember a lot about their customers, their families, etc. It was really nice to feel a sort of community while sitting in the salon! Overall, a great experience!! Norios is a sure-thing for me and worth a 50min commute from NJ to Philly!

I completely understood when they had to cancel my appointment due to my tardiness and apologized several times. However, when I went online to rebook, I discovered that I had been blacklisted. While I fully understand that late arrivals, cancellations, and no-shows are difficult for any business, being blacklisted on a first offense seems bizarre and unfair. I would have completely understood if this were a second offense or a recurring issue, but things happen, and this was an unavoidable situation. I guess my name didn't fit with their salon aesthetic enough to give me a one-time warning as a first-time client. Unfortunately, I understand that it is still within their rights to refuse service.
