Only give a 1 star because it's needed to write a review. Took my car to these guys because my a/c…read morewent out in my car. It was close to my house and thought I might give them a try. I had a buddy at work "shade tree mechanic" type who works on cars tell me what he thought was wrong with it and he even printed out a list of parts that are the likely suspects and their cost. Everything my friend gave me was relatively simple to fix and the cost of the parts were very inexpensive. Well, these guys called me up and said it's the main computer component of the auto (nissan maxima) and will be between $880 - $1100 to fix. Thinking my friend must have been wrong I told them to go ahead and fix the a/c, it was HOT in late July. Went to pick up my car and into the small office on the lot and the person, I assume was the owner of the place, tell me how they only use parts that have 100,000 mile warranty, etc, etc, etc. At the end of his speech I asked to see the part they had to replace. Turns out, the part was listed on my buddy's sheet for $189 but they charged me around $800 for it. I don't mind paying for parts and labor but geez, I could have replaced it several times in the "100,000" mile warranty for less than what I was charged. Wouldn't recommend these guys to anyone. To be fair, the a/c is still working and I get that everybody has to make a couple of bucks for their cost but buyer beware for this shop....

I got my vehicle back in mid November of 2013 and for 3 months it ran fine how ever in early February of this year I began having noticeable problems with performance on the free way,. it ran extremely rough and there was a noticeable oil leak which I later found out after taking my truck to the Chevrolet dealership was due to the seals in the oil pan and behind the transmission being bad. Arkansas Engine and automotive failed to replace them when they put the new engine in they also failed to properly service the radiator which also was leaking fluid. Now they are waiting on their warranty company to give them the ok to fix what they should have done right the first time, I am very upset with Shawn and the crack head he has for a mechanic because now I am with out a vehicle yet again. Do not use this company you are better served in going to Benton Transmission and Automotive just down the road they do good work and won't fuck you over...

On that note, I wish you well in life, and encourage all to seek the help one needs to do our very best. That said; I would not recommend this business. I was charged for services never actually performed. The owner arrived unprepared and did not have any of the tools necessary to complete the diagnostic. I paid $153 for me myself to crank my own car for him twice. He did not perform "any" physical labor. As the technician who was there to diagnose the car, he himself never even touched the car keys, and never once got into the vehicle to crank it himself. He had no means to perform the diagnostic and knew that before he "impromptu made time in his schedule" same day, to complete the diagnostic. Though ironically he made time to create & submit an updated $1029 invoice for "potential" parts and labor prior to arriving to perform the initial diagnostic. Claimed to have ordered the parts for what was "suspected" to be the issue, yet the commercial parts department listed on the invoice could not find the part number listed on the invoice to match any in their system and confirmed there had been NO ORDERS PLACED USING HIS COMMERCIAL ACCOUNT SINCE DEC 20th, based on the business account listed on the invoice, and NO Orders has been placed that day for the specific part listed on the invoice. All this I confirmed within 2 hours of the owner leaving my residence with $153 for basically showing up on foot. He attempted to require that I "relinquish the keys to my vehicle" to him because he had so-called "began the service", I refused, as I had already paid him the $153 he said was required for him to merely show up and perform a diagnostic of which he knew he was unable to perform. When I refused to give him my key, he then attempted to "leave the hood unlatched"... Unlatched overnight for what? He then said it was customary for technicians to leave their tools behind at the work site, as an act of good faith to insure they would return to complete the job; as he stated some techs get paid for jobs and don't return to complete them. Again, no, I will be securing MY vehicle on MY property, though I allowed him to place his ratchet set inside my locked vehicle. He then stated he needed me to pay $400 for him to pick up the parts before 7 pm so that he would come back the following morning to install. After he left, knowing I paid him $153 for something he didn't actually do, plus other peculiar behavior on-site, as well as during the phone consult with the vehicle owners while on-site, I simply was not going to pay him directly for the parts, so I offered to pay for & pick up the parts with him. He texted that he was across town doing a brake job, but had already ordered the parts, and would contact me as soon as he completed that job. I never heard back from him until the following day at 1:30 pm. He was unaware when he sent the text claiming to have already ordered the parts that I had already contacted the parts store, submitted his invoice to the store, located his account and confirmed NO ORDERS had been placed. I checked 3 different locations including the location he holds a commercial account. Needless to say when he had not contacted me first thing in the morning the following day as stated during his first visit, after I contacted the parts store once again to see if possibly order had been placed that morning, and still nothing. I canceled the service with him via text at 10:30 am- and recieved no response from him until 1:30 pm, with a text riddled with verifiable untruths. This is yet again a disappointing unfortunate lost opportunity to keep local businesses thriving with local customers... and for potential customers an expensive lesson, that kindness and trust in 2026 will need to be earned, and no longer simply given.
