The party guests, ages 4-9, all had a great time. I'm sure many of the parents will be fielding inquiries about a repeat visit to try out some of the other race tracks. The proprietor, Richard, was super chill with all the children. He clearly enjoys sharing his love for slot car racing with others.

Even Beyoncé has sampled Donna Summer several times including her latest album which features the track Summer Renaissance which samples I Feel Love. This is a FREE OUTDOOR EVENT that they have every year in Boston - the city where she grew up. Lots of people were dressed up in vintage 70's clothing for this special occasion. Some of the outfits were Amazing! The DJ was pumping out all the dance grooves of the 70's & 80's including The Bee Gee's, The Trammps, KC & The Sunshine Band, Michael Jackson, Chic, The O'Jays, Tavares, Abba, & of course Donna & many others. They had a very energetic crowd. There were even some Roller Skaters & Roller Bladders here as well. Back in the day, Donna Summer's music was featured on the Soul Train TV program for many years. Donna herself even appeared on Soul Train as a musical artist. Well they brought back an Old School Dance - The Original Classic Soul Train Line Dance in honor of Donna Summer. They had the whole place boogieing down the aisle showing all the crowd their best dance moves to the Funky Beats of the DJ. All the people were Dancing & singing along to all the 70's songs including Donna's music to Dancing Queen by Abba. There were people here of all ages from Kids to Adults. Donna Summer's sister Mary provided the Live Entertainment & covered a few of Donna's songs. She sounds very much like her sister Donna. What a Fun Event & they have this 70's Donna Summer Retro Party going on every year in Boston. What a Fun Time! If you missed it mark it on your calendar for June of next year! I went in not expecting much and left absolutely amazed. There is so much movement and expressivity in his sculptures. They remind me of early Rodin. In short, this guy created the Paul Revere statue in the North End, the Native American Statue in front of the MFA, and the trumpeting angel of the Mormon church, among others. He could easily be the best American sculptor of the 20th century but, due to political conflict and possibly his own obstinacy/arrogance, he has virtually no legacy. Poor guy, it took him 60 years to erect the Paul Revere statue in the North End and his name isn't even engraved on the pedestal! Boston politicians apparently didn't care for him much at all. He died penniless and all he gets is four rooms in a tiny house in Arlington to showcase his masterpieces. It's a nice little museum though, and the curators are very knowledgeable and dedicated. You can walk through the place on your own, but it's small enough that having a docent guide you through a detailed tour wouldn't take more than 40 minutes. As I said before, everything is free, though donations are greatly appreciated. If you are hosting visitors or just have an hour to kill on a weekend afternoon, this local treasure is well worth the trip.

If you're into historical sites and museums, this might be worth a look. Otherwise, you might just want to go to one of the many higher-profile museums in the area, like the Adams Historical Site the town next door. You have to reserve a spot in one of the scheduled tours to enter the museum. I went for a 1 pm tour and the next one was at 3. Trust me, the tour is really 2 hours long. The positive of this museum is that while the house is not that large in terms of square feet, you do get your bang for your buck. The tour guide was generally polite and rather informative. However, she always seemed to ask historical questions every time we entered a room and wanted us to answer - really got irritating as the tour went along. If I wanted to answer historical questions, I would've gone to a bar for stump trivia. Lastly, if you're not into this stuff, you will be bored out of your mind and will resort to utilizing the futuristic item called a smartphone. The Forbes family was involved in various historical events/periods and some of those rooms each had a theme from a time period. The family was involved in the China trade, so there's a decent collection of old Chinese furniture in the parlor. It doesn't compare to the Peabody Essex Museum, granted, but it's something. There is a room for the Forbes involvement in the Civil War and Abolition. Another room described the Forbes charitable endeavors during the Great Famine in Ireland during the mid-1800's. So you'll get some learnin' from various periods. Compared to other historical spots around the area, this one doesn't seem to be maintained well and needs better restoration. There was significant water damage in a few rooms and exhibit pieces (like beds, plates, etc.) seemed to be arranged worse than a 5-year old. The house needs a paint job in the worst way. Also compared to other historical sites, this one was rather dirty. There is a "gift shop", and by "gift shop", I mean a small glass case in the foyer containing books for sale. p.s. - you'll likely have older folks in your tour group that think "oriental" is still an acceptable way to describe Asians. p.p.s. - there's a nice Chinese junk model. It's in a glass case, and not in some sort luggage storage box or something. So you can't say there's junk in the trunk. *rim shot* :-P

Also, one of the previous owners was an avid collector of Abraham Lincoln memorabilia. The museum is set up more like a home and objects are easy to see and some can even be handled (kitchen area). The architecture inside and out is beautiful and the grounds keep with the feel of the home. The tour can be done on your own or guided. Great place to relax and take your time admiring the collection.

It took us about half an hour to drive the mile of lights. Lights were spaced out for a driving experience. They have holiday music piped in an FM signal. Overall I was pleased with the experience. Got to watch from the comfort of my car with my heated seat. We were able to bring our own food and beverage. The show was just long enough to keep us entertained, yet short enough that we were not bored.

This VA used to be outstanding and filled with amazing individuals who went to great lengths to…read morehelp Veterans but now it's fallen far from grace and trying to get the help thats needed is a cumbersome mess. We've tried every approach but after reaching a boiling point and after trying to find out who the director of this hospital is, it turns out there isn't one. The current acting director is no longer managing this hospital. They've gone through 3 or 4 acting directors within a year and none have stayed. In the free for all and anarchy that remains, the poorly qualified supervisors who are in charge are not training staff to use phones or computers properly. The people on the phones are very hard to understand, and for elderly veterans it's an outright nightmare. Staff hang up on patients while working with their supervisors, no one knows what department is which, people entering appointment data will often make conflicting appointment times based on location so you miss 2 or 3 appointments since logically you can't take a telehealth call, be in Bedford and Boston within 15mins all at the same time. If you do get transfered correctly most departments go straight to voicemail and often wont call back unless you're lucky that the qualified person, whether it be a nurse,doctor or specialist gets to the message first. They even forget to set up travel for patients who need it, this isn't the fault of the travel department. This is not the fault of the doctors, or the nurses, or the specialists, they have to deal with this madness of staff in between who are neither qualified nor trained to be where they are. The qualified people have to live in fear of backlash for complaining about these unqualified hires who makes things a terror for both Veterans and the people there to help them. From the complete apathy of the staff, they clearly aren't hiring veterans anymore. It makes me sad to know this location has completely fallen apart and the Veterans who fought for this country have to struggle with such extremes in order to get basic treatment.

I've worked here and I've been a patient here for 10 years. Everything takes so long to do here. Wastes people's time. Want to pick up medication? Better plan at least an hour or longer of your day. Something always goes wrong at this hospital. A small caveate is that there are a few good people that work here and understand, but there is nothing they can do. The good ones dont stay long. The other hospitals in the area dont want to be associated with Bedford cause its so bad.
