I researched and prepped everything online to make it go smoothly and they still treated me like an annoyance. The plus side is that you will get in and out quickly here because not many people think to go to this location. Seen in a very timely manner, we were helped by a lovely lady. She also offered to handle another matter for us- again another employee going above and beyond their duties!! I was already there and waiting, it made 0 sense why they couldn't do both, but I was kind, I listened, I made my appointment. Tell me why I'm waiting just as long with an appointment than without right now? They cannot give me any clarity on when I will be called or how appointments are honored. I'd rather we have no appointments and everyone roughs it out on a first come first served basis than have appointments that aren't even real. What an absolute failure.

If I ever feel like I'm not getting financially hosed at an RMV, I always feel like somethings not quite right. ( i.e. I forgot to fill out a certain form, didn't enter whatever I'm supposed to on my phone, etc. and I am doing something illegal.) My love of the RMV aside, this location is bright and clean and more spacious than their old spot in the mall. After waiting 45 minutes in line, I finally got to see someone. His name was Ben and he was actually such a nice, patient, helpful guy. I really appreciated his kindness while I was trying not to have a total Tuna Melt down while trying to get what I needed done. Long story short, I got what I needed done. I just appreciated Ben. And I feel I am 100% in the right to be angry, confused and annoyed whenever I go there. Long lines and you have to overpay whatever the heck you need. But every once in a while, you get a really nice guy who has a tough job yet was nice to me and I really appreciated that. Everyone that worked there seemed nice for whatever that's worth.

Alright, we had some ups and downs here. Context: I just moved to Mass from Florida and needed a…read morenew DL and to register my car. When you walk in, there are two lines: one for people with an appointment and one for people without. There's two stations for two workers to help with those lines. First time I went, I just asked a couple questions (what do I need to bring for my appointment in a couple days, etc.). Was about 45 minutes until close so I waiting maybe 10 minutes in a short line to speak with someone (very nice and knowledgeable) Second time I went, my husband and I both had appointments. We got there about 30 minutes early to our appointment and waited those 30 minutes in the "ready to go" line. The customer service line was already to the door (it was about 11 in the morning) and there was only 1 worker at the counter and they only pulled from the customer service line. Once we finally got processed by the customer service counter and got our numbers, we waited for about 30 minutes each to be called to a counter. The worker I had was FANTASTIC. We chatted and laughed and she was so sweet. Turned out a form from my insurance agency for my car was incorrect so she let me step away to the computers and get it fixed so I didn't have to make another appointment and said to come back to her once I had it right. MEANWHILE, my husband was getting yelled at by a different worker on the other side of the counters. She told him he couldn't get anything done that day and he had all the wrong stuff. THANKFULLY the manager heard her yelling at him and started helping him. Not sure if I have advice for anyone who needs to go to this RMV, except bring a book or something to do while you wait around. Advice for the Watertown RMV: Maybe don't let people who yell at others to work there? Didn't seem like that person got reprimanded at all for going at it towards my husband. (Side note: the manager did see him getting yelled at by this worker, so maybe there were consequences later on? But I did continue to see her walking around after he was done.)

Just moved back to MA and had to drive almost 2 hours to the Pittsfield RMV to get my license…read more Because of my home address not being recognized by the town, there were issues that we're going to result in my leaving there without my MA license. The RMV employee, Caryssa, went above and beyond to assist me. She spent at least 45 minutes with me to get it resolved. Caryssa is an asset to the Pittsfield RMV office and should be commended. I don't know if I would have made it home safely if I left without the license, I was that upset. Thank you Caryssa!!

OK I was a dope and ran out of gas on I-93N last night. It…read morewas not my fault really, as my low gas light did not come on. Anyways, I felt like a fool. I felt unsafe, as cars and huge trucks flew past me at speeds well over 75MPH. I called 911 and the state Police dispatched the MAPFRE/ Commerce Insurance (current sponsor) Highway Assistance - which is basically a tow truck that helps with these kind of situations. The arrived in about 15inutes, gave me 1 gallon of gas, free of charge, and made sure that I safely pulled out back onto the highway. The guy was super nice, friendly, and cool. I tipped him as he really helped me out of a unpleasant situation. A wonderful service and valued program.

For instance, why don't they allow appointments for new vehicle registration? I guess they figure same day service is needed? I think they should have a better system. Also, why don't they do that on Saturdays? Evidence of how badly their systems function is the length of the lines outside before the RMV even opens. People know they need to take many hours off to do this. Anyway, I do want to give credit to the person I presume was supervisor when I went this morning. He was helpfully checking people's paperwork who were in line. It's incredibly frustrating to stand in line and be told you don't have the needed info so I very much appreciate this courtesy. He also gave a clear announcement and warned that not everyone was likely to be seen due to staffing levels. While extremely frustrating for those waiting, I still commend supervisors for clear communication. It's so rarely done and ultimately reduces mistrust and anxiety. So thank you, sir, for treating people like humans. So lacking these days!
