I'm an emerald club member. (National auto rental) Made a reservation and have a confirmation number. I get to this car rental company only to be told it was cancelled and they don't have any cars available. I didn't cancel this and I'm stuck at the airport. And no cancellation email either - No offer to help - honestly it was too bad so sad go away. I've been using National for more than 10 years with no problems except at the WB Scranton airport location. Good luck - buyer beware and have a backup plan. Btw I called customer service and all they did was say they don't have any other vehicles either. No attempt to help or at restitution. Looks like it's gonna be Hertz from now on. read more

This is a small airport and so there is no Emerald Aisle here. You'll have to go to the counter and show ID to get your car keys. Still, you will get a choice in vehicles if they have a few to choose from. I was offered such a choice and drove off the lot with a clean Chevy Impala that had about 4000 miles on it. There's only one person working the counter for the late arriving flights. The rental contracts were pre-printed and so I did have to wait behind five people who got there ahead of me, but the wait was less than two minutes. Cars are parked outside, a short walk. Returns are easy. Just get the mileage and remembe to top off the gas before arriving (there's a Petro very close). Drop the keys and head to security. A+. Pro tip: Skip past the baggage claim and go DIRECT to the counter first. You'll wait less. read more

Not impressed! No counter by-pass and though there is no shuttle because the cars are not that far away - it's still a walk outside which could be pretty bad in not so nice weather. Getting out of the airport in on your way isn't too bad, but they could do more with arrows guiding you out of the rental car parking lot. There were not many cars to pick from - I was given a choice of two - neither impressed me, but I decided on the Camry, which is a decent car, but it didn't even have power seats. First time in years that I have had to go to a desk to get my car keys. Pleasant guy at the desk. The car I got was awful. The interior was filthy and the tires were bald. Desk guy was great about it. Apologized and gave me another car. Still not as clean as I am used to from National but it worked. You can walk to the cars from the airport which was great. read more

Horrible service, they give you cars with the tank almost empty. Their excuse is they don't want to put their employees at risk by getting gas but it's ok to put their clients at risk. read more

No emerald aisle service but at least the cars are walking distance from the terminal; no need to ride an unnecessary shuttle bus.

I love renting from National for all my business travel because the general quality and cleanliness of the cars, but the Scranton location is definitely the exception. The car I was given was absolutely filthy. There was trash in the center console and the cup holders were sticky. The car also needed an oil change and sounded terrible. They definitely need to do better upkeep on the vehicles. read more

Car was dirty on the inside with raisins and other debris on the floor and dirty windshield on the inside. The first thing I noticed after starting the vehicle was that it needed an oil change. Perhaps the indication was never reset, but not a good impression of taking good care of the vehicles, nonetheless. read more

The only issue I had with 2 rentals over almost two months, were the facts that both cars were not clean - unlike other rental companies that I use. I actually took the last vehicle and cleaned it myself as the rear window was almost impossible to see out of when it rained, and the seats and floorboard were filthy. Second issue was having to pay almost $300 for a one day rental being taken to another city to catch a flight from a different airport that was only 60 miles away....staff was very helpful and that is why the high rating read more

No counter by-pass but the rep at the counter was very pleasant and gave me the choice out of three cars. You can walk to the car lot....a plus in one way (no shuttle) but in the snow and bad weather it was not much fun. Preferred if it was a covered lot. The car was very clean and ran fine. They even included a snow brush/scraper in the car knowing bad weather was in the forecast. One thing I wish they would have explained was how to return the car before they opened. My rental was scheduled to be returned before 7:30am. I called the national hotline and they did not have the information. They put me to the local phone and they did have the information on their voice message......all in all, very acceptable rental experience. read more

National is always my go to rental car provider. The ability to pick the car I want make it so much more enjoyable. The Scranton location was no exception. The attendant was very courteous and friendly and got me on my way in less than a minute. Will definitely use them again. read more

Over the last two months I have rented two vehicles from this location. Both times the interior were filthy. There were ashes near the console from someone who smoked in the car. Trash in the console and dirt on the floor. A simple vacuuming would of been nice. This was even a premium car. The other car needed windshield wiper blades it just smeared when used. I have rented from smaller places and the standards are much higher. I also had an inconvenience at the counter because someone hadn't updated my expirations on my drivers license and credit card from National in their database. I have rented several times with the current information before this was brought up. read more

I arrived late and had no problems at the counter. The attendant was very pleasant and ran down the list of vehicles to pick from. I was surprised at the choice I had at a small airport. Vehicle was clean and perfect for my needs. Upon return two very enthusiastic attendants met me and asked how everything went and if there was anything else that could have been done to enhance my rental experience. I left there feeling very good about my rental and look forward to renting from National in the future. . read more
