Quick Lane provided a ride for him to retrieve his car when it was ready. That was really nice because my son works within a couple of miles from there, but I it is a 30 minute drive for me. My son was very satisfied with the promptness and professionalism of both the work done and the service. There are several Quick Lane locations. This one is part of the Boggus Ford dealership and service center in McAllen. It is located on Hwy 83 Frontage Road on the west side of the complex. The waiting room was nice with seating for at least a dozen people. While I was there there were only three people. There was a TV which was, of course, showing the soccer world cup which is happening in Qatar. They had some coffee available for those who want it. I had never been there but was impressed. They have hiked the prices form $54 to now $91 which is ridiculous. They have removed the prices from the wall and you now only find out the prices when you pay. You pay almost double the price for half the service. I was flat out told that they wouldn't rotate my tires because per the tech it would take too long as it had swollen lug nuts. Ford knows they have a lug nut issue and this quick lane has already removed one with their tool. The tech in this case just didn't want to do the work as per what he said it would take too long. This location is in it for the money not customer service. No other fluids were topped off besides the oil change, the tag inside was written out in pen which will eventually fade. Well they're just trying to make commission and get money. At ADC Repair, Pete doesn't do that. I have always gone to Pete for my car needs. He's been a mechanic since the 1980's and has only grown as one with the change in cars over the decades. He is ASE certified (among the many other certifications he has) and believes in providing people with an honest and quality service. He actually has dealers and other mechanics around the Valley send him their cars because they simply cannot diagnose it. He has the tools and the knowledge to find out what is wrong with your car, and will fix it right the first time. If you do have to go back (for whatever reason), he will gladly fix it. Pete is also a very respectful man and is very cordial on the phone. When you drop off your car he'll get to it, diagnose it and call you to tell you what the problem is and provide you with an estimate of what the parts and labor will cost you. He charges a general diagnosis fee of $87.50, but honestly, it's worth the money. He actually finds out what is wrong with your car and DOESN'T charge you for things that you don't even need. He looks at what is causing your car's problem and will tell you what needs to be fixed in order to deal with that. Of course, if you ask about other things, he'll tell you about an air filter or something that needs to get replaced, but he won't make some story that makes you feel like you NEED to get it done and spend the money when you don't. He does, however, provide you with plenty of warning and caution about how some things should take priority in getting fixed as soon as they can. He's an honest man and he knows how hard times can be, so he isn't going to make you pay for extra services that simply aren't necessary. He also knows how to do basic stuff. He started out specializing in air conditioning repair and he certainly knows how to change your oil. So if you just need something as small as that, he can do it. He also does things as large as, obviously, diagnosing your car. He programs them too. Now that cars are practically all computers, he has equipped his business with the technology that can help find out what the problem is. ADC Repair is definitely my first stop when I feel my car shaking or if my brakes start to squeak. Pete and his associate, Juan, have been working together since the 1990's and they do fantastic work. I simply cannot stop raving about this place because honestly, they do the best work. Sure it's expensive, but wouldn't you rather have it done right the first time than have to go back and eventually pay the same price you would have paid if you had just gone to see Pete in the first place? ¡Pete también habla perfectamente el español!
