I showed up half an hour before the store opened (my fault because I misread the hours). The manager showed up earlier than the opening time and helped me immediately after he clocked in. tldr; David Howie remains the champ of customer service. There was an error made on their part. I asked for a given size of unit and they put me down as one smaller. When I came in today to sign the paper work, they notified me of this error and that the unit I had put my 20$ deposit on was sold out in that size. To remedy this and honor our verbal contract, I was given the next larger unit at half price which came out to be 40$ less than if I had paid for my sized unit. read more

I researched most of the local storage options based mainly on price and location. National Mini Warehouse was one of the cheapest options available and was easily accessible from I-74. The location appeared to be well maintained and secure. When I spoke with David, he was very respectful, professional, and accommodative to my situation. Things with this company are improving greatly. Money is now being credited back to me so that's a plus. The owner kindly explained how condensation sometimes pools at the bottom and that the storage units don't get ruined at all. They are actually elevated and I'm glad he explained it because I know nothing about construction. He also contacted me to explain the refund process and made sure I was aware of what to expect. I'm super happy at the fact that they care about their reviews because he kindly explained what I had posted before. This company is improving in my book. This experience was not a good one. I rented a student locker for my daughter to keep her things in because she was in between a dorm and an apartment. We only needed the unit for two weeks. The reservation process went very smoothly. I booked it online and then he called me to get my credit card info to put $20 down in order to hold the unit at the price we agreed upon. On the day of, I showed up with our car full of stuff and got in a very, very long line. I waited patiently for about a half hour, then people started talking in line. They started saying they were in line for hours! I ended up taking two and a half hours of just standing in line to get the unit. It was unbelievable. There was one guy.... one guy to do everything for every person in line. This includes taking payment, printing off 20 something pieces of paper that needed signatures and driving the clients out to their units. I timed it, each customer took over 15 minutes. I just spent the day packing up my daughter. We did not eat lunch and we were going to eat after dropping the stuff off at the locker. We had no idea it would take 2.5 hours. While waiting in line, a group of students had a problem with a unit because there were some pallets in their space. You would think when you rent a space, it would be empty. But they didn't know what to do with the stuff so they came in to ask. He told them to take them out. Well, that's rude because it's not their job to clear out a space. But anyway, they left and came back because I guess there were a lot of them and they found it concerning. He freaked out on them! He started telling them that it was their fault and everyone was going to have to wait longer because of them. He made a phone call to what seemed like a buddy and asked him about the stuff left in the locker and replied to him, "No really, it's not a problem, you didn't do anything wrong." Then he ran out of the place and declared loudly that he was so sorry he had to take some stuff out and it was all their fault. Again.. is it really their job to empty a space? It was a very uncomfortable exchange. It was an unpleasant experience overall. I would not go back again. read more

Very helpful and friendly management. Nice, clean, and secure facilities. Someone is actually on site during the day to help and the front gate is closed during off hours making it even more secure. It's also easy to access being right off the interstate. read more

We rented a storage shed for 5 weeks while we were between selling our home and buying our next home. We put our couches, bedroom set, reclines, clothes, etc. in 2 of these units. When we can back to get our things to move them just 5 weeks later the entire unit smelled of mouse urine and feces. There was mouse feces all over everything in just 5 weeks. They had gotten into our drawers and destroyed clothes, books, movies, etc. We found 3 live mice running through our things as we were moving out and mouse urine up the walls. Our couch, dining room set, and recliner were totally destroyed. When we called to ask about a refund and to get a claim for the insurance that we were forced to buy we were told we would get refunded for the amount we paid to rent the unit right away. We signed a release to remove the rest of our things that had been ruined. It has been over 4 weeks and we have not received a penny from this company. I have called and emailed multiple times and haven't received anything. I would never rent from this company again. I feel bad for the people who have left their things in there for long periods of time. read more
