My husband and I recently underwent our first major interstate move and I'm extremely happy with the service Twin City Movers provided. We got estimates from a few other big name moving companies but decided to go with the local guys because they were the only ones who guaranteed our belongings would make it to our destination without a long delay or stopovers in warehouses. Twin City was also the only mover who was willing to give us a binding estimate, in writing, at no extra charge. Randy visited our home, called us the same day with an estimate, and that's EXACTLY what we were charged at the end of the move. He was also very willing to work with us until we were satisfied with all the paperwork before going ahead. The movers were on time for both loading and unloading, were polite, professional, and respectful of our belongings, and didn't damage, lose, or break a single item. However, we did have to pack everything ourselves and purchased boxes and other supplies from Twin City for a reasonable price (much cheaper than the same items cost at the UPS store). The entire move was perhaps a bit more expensive than it might have been had we gone with one of the big name companies, but the personalized attention, flexibility, and service were well worth it. read more

We have used Twin City Movers several times and have always been very happy with their service. Randy and his guys have helped us to move parents into and out of assisted living facilities in various cities and always did a great job, always did what they said they would do, and were on time, careful, courteous, and kind. They did a very professional job. Then when we needed to move out of our own house, Randy and his team did a great job of moving all of our stuff into storage, and then a year later helping us figure out the most cost-effective way of moving it across the country. It ended up that they packed it all into "pod" like containers. They packed it very carefully and we didn't have any damage or broken items. Randy always came up with great ideas to help us do what we needed to do in the most cost-effective manner. He put a lot of thought into helping us come up with a plan and worked with us a lot over the phone to make sure every detail was worked out. He was very courteous and patient any time we called with questions or concerns. We have known Randy for a long time, as he used to be our neighbor. Wow. I can not recommend these guys enough. From start to finish. Beginning with the owner Randy who assessed the situation and came in at such a great price. We were moving my dad from Champaign to Oak Park and needed to also drop off furniture at my sisters house since my dad is moving to an apartment near my sister. On move out day Randy showed up to introduce us to the team. His brother Dan was in charge and his two assistants Nate and Matt. These three worked cheerfully to help pack glass shelves and art, wraps a glass table top, and take down a big desk and shelf unit. Matt who is a carpenter and does moves part time was a great help with the desk. And each of the team performed in heat without a complaint. Especially Dan who was out on the truck all day! Then the second day they drove up and unloaded. Dealing with an elevator and all our issues with where to put things. Again handling it all with pleasantness and helpfulness. I cannot imagine a better experience. And being such a stressful time for our family. And a big change for my dad. They were so gracious to him. Respectful all the time. My sister and I were looking for movers to move our furniture and belongs from one home to another which we had purchased. A friend recommended Twin City Movers and we decide to try them out. Not only did they get things out of the home quickly and moved into our new place efficiently but they were also very friendly, talked and joked with us and by the time they were finished we felt like they were family. This team moved me yesterday but before that they moved my storage space (10x20) which was FULL to my house so I could sort through the stuff in peace. They are professional, fast, careful and fun to be around during a long stressful day. VERY AFFORDABLE for a local move! The total cost of TWO local moves in 10 days was $500 less than what I was quoted by 2 other companies! Do NOT use these company ever. Here is why: Poor technology-they do not send any confirmation once you schedule a move. No call center-you are stuck with Randy and the possibility of answering the phone. We had Randy come out and agreed upon a date and logistics after going to our home and storage unit. He did not show up the day of the move. We finally found is cell, and he said he had us scheduled for the month after, after initially saying he could not remember talking to us. This company is DIRTY and will drop you unexpectedly for a more profitable move. Stay away. Stay far away. read more

The team showed up exactly when they said they would, they were careful with our stuff, and everyone on the team was a pleasure to be around.
