These guides are highly trained and specialized and insanely knowledgeable- we had excellent discussion and so much in depth learning about the battlefield as we trotted along. The carriage is Victorian style and very comfortable- and ours was pulled by two gorgeous Percheron mares, Kate and Trina - sisters!! They were so beautiful and so sweet! Sarah and Bogey (sp??) were our our drivers and they were so great to the horses and very skilled at handling anything that came up. Our guide was Chris and he was just incredible- I'd be shocked if there was anything he didn't know about Gettysburg lol!! Even his ancestors were part of the battle! Not only did he provide tons of info about the ins and outs of the battle, but he also dropped fun little pearls of trivia along the way - things like how the shapes of certain monument bases have different meanings and how the "avenues" were put in for tourists lol!! The guides have to pass a rigorous learning/testing regime to even be able to do the tours so you know they know their stuff! The tour is totally fun - but also treated with the utmost respect for the gravity of the subject - so many lives lost - such a tragic and heavy piece of history. I strongly urge anyone to take a guided tour on your visit - interacting with such knowledgeable guides really helps get a better understanding of the battle and the core issues etc. The tour starts in town at the Gettysburg Heritage Center - very easy to find and plenty of parking. They pick you up in the carriage right out front and off you go! The tour lasts around 2 hours and they let you interact with the horses afterwards if you want! Can't recommend it enough!!

I believe if we had more people like him giving history tours the generations now would be more interested in learning. Well done sir! The carriage company pricing was fair, the carriage itself was beautiful, and the two ladies driving were very kind. Would definitely recommend!

I checked out the website and was surprised how affordable the tour was. When we got there, Ed took us in and got us signed up. The tour lasted about 2.5 hours (close to three with the breaks). It was very informative and we hit all the highlights of the town and the battlefields. There is only maybe one or two stops where you can get out and take pictures....but you get familiar with the area so you can drive back through at your leisure and take all the photos you like wherever you choose. Would I recommend this tour company? Absolutely! There are also other ways to see Gettysburg (horseback, mini motorcycle/carts)....but a bus tour I think is the best way to go!

We did stop at a McDonalds so we could get food, refreshments and use the restroom. I thought this was a great idea as the tour was 3 hours. You don't stop and get at the attractions but it's so helpful knowing where all the roads lead and exactly what happened and where. Audio recording was used VERY briefly. Maybe 15 minutes total. Other than that it was Glen talking Thank you for a fantastic ride!!

The tour is accompanied by a tour guide, using an earbud and receiver to talk about the battles and the different stages of the tour as you go along. They also have 2 additional employees that ride along to deal with any rowdy horses, to stop traffic, or really handle anything that comes up along the way. This is nice as I have only rode a horse once before, and it's helpful to have someone to assist if your horse doesn't want to listen (mine was actually pretty good). Overall, we had a great time and would like to do it again with my son next time.

Their hospitality leading up to the ride was fantastic, the weather was a bit 'iffy' so we ended up pushing back to later in the afternoon. It was still a bit cold and overcast when we arrived and we ended up being the only couple to join them. Blankets were in the carriage waiting for us and we were greeted as soon as we pulled up, the ride was enjoyable and informative... we learned about the farm and a bit about the battle, both Bill and Bonnie were super friendly and it was a pleasure to meet them! After the ride was over we had the opportunity to go back to the barn and meet all the horses. We learned more about each of them and got to feed them carrots, absolutely worth the price and a ride we would definitely do again, hopefully under better weather next time!

I was very happy with my son in law's recommendation. My son in law recommended the value pack of tickets and it was well worth the price. I believe it was 62.50 per person. That entitled us to the battlefield tour in an air conditioned bus, and visits to three other tours-museums. I thought the price was great. Paul Bausermann was our tour guide and in a word- PHENOMENAL!! He was likable, entertaining, engaging, incredibly smart, had a great sense of humor and his timing was impeccable. I don't think anyone could hold a candle to his enthusiasm, vigor, and story telling. I learned so much about cannons, the battle, and those who fought. So many interesting facts- interesting that The Military Academy used to have seniors spend three weeks on the battlefield in order to graduate. Now they don't- what a stupid decision on their part!! Unfortunately I can't recall the name of our bus driver but he was excellent too! He did walk with a crutch and looked ultra professional in uniform- thank you!! He had been a driver for I think he said 50 years or so starting in the 1970's. They made a great team!!! As someone in the safety department, I appreciated his very safe driving! It's not easy maneuvering a bus that size into parking areas or along the road, but he made it seem pretty easy. I highly recommend this touring company. They are wonderful. I especially appreciate the abundant FREE parking!! It is nothing like the mess we have in Jim Thorpe, the money grab, congestion and parking nightmares in Jim Thorpe thankfully are not the case in lovely Gettysburg. I would definitely go on another tour with this company. They don't ask for tips but please do tip if you enjoyed the tour- I tipped both and they really appreciated it.
