Went to 101 Mobility thinking it was a drugstore or place that sold items and did repairs. It is in…read moreFarmingdale. It is not this kind of place. Company which has new owner as of about 3 years ago, sells chair lifts, ramps and the like. They have an office in the business area which is very hard to find. They are on a street behind Farmingdale College and closer to the Farmingdale school of Aviation as I saw small craft plane flying over. GPS took me to a Deli at 55 and said, you have arrived. Goodfella Deli personnel told me to drive to back where eventually I found the door to their office. I did look at the chair lift currently quoted 3700.00 installed. No insurance taken and depending on what insurance one has they could check for any amount of coverage. I did have rep come over to see if stairs were wide enough for this device. 28 inches is what is needed for minimum space. This device works on a plug 12v battery charger with 2 gel pack batteries enclosed in unit that apparently are not a simple take out put in replace and "unless very mechanically handy would need a service person to replace when needed". The batteries and unit are long ware and expected to last for years. The chair folds so that when not in use one can have a bit more access to the space of the stairs. It does have a swivel seat to move to side to get in. It moves down and up stairs at a fairly quick rate (not like the "Farmers Daughter" version) and has said safety features if for any reason the foot got caught it would stop. There are manufacturer warrantees and certain coverages noted. I am aware of two other companies that also sell such types of devices and would need to shop around as well as to see if it warrants purchase of a chair lift at this time.

He sent someone the very next day to check it. The motors were fine, so he swapped out the remote control for a new one. Walla it now works great! He explained the entire process and his team was excellent in evaluating the type of stairlift that would be suitable for my dad. I also want to thank Eddie. Eddie installed the outside stairlift.
