I don't know where to begin but will say from the start, Wayne, made me feel at ease when calling for quote. I was worried how easy it would be to serve property managers that were avoiding being served, by even locking their office front doors during business hours after initial service was attempted for me by a friend. The next business day, Wayne, then personally called me, to confirm they were served. National Legal Services then filed the proof of service with the court and sent me a copy - date stamped by the court. Thank you for your professionalism, promptness and diligence. I hope I never have to have someone served again, but if I did, I would definitely return because I know NLS will get it done, and get it done right! Thank you!!! read more

UPDATE: FYI in response to Marks response to me, I did not request a 5 attempt service, this was simply what he quoted me for when I asked what the fee was. I told him that was too expensive and he said ok- never staying there was any sort of cheaper option available, so I would assume there is not one. Later when we reached back out, he stated he would begin serving the business on a weekend, which would have used up attempts unnecessarily, as the business was closed. I hired someone else and she easily did it in one attempt on a business day for a normal rate. Again- do your research. just because he's pushy doesn't mean he's right! ORIGINAL: Strange business model. Somehow this person gets information about small claims filings and solicits the plaintiffs to see if they will hire him to perform service. He just emailed me out of the blue asking me to hire him. He charges over $200 when others charge far less. He tries to get you to pay without an invoice so you have to ask for one. By the time I got it I had hired someone else at a much fairer price. I just ignored the invoice and moved on with my life. He then called me a few days later stating he hadn't received payment and had a little hissy fit (through email) asking why I asked for an invoice if I hired someone else. I chose not to respond as there was clearly no answer that would satisfy him and there was no reason to continue communication. Tell me why the next day he had checked up on my case again, and sent me an email "informing" me that no service had been filed in my case and that I was obligated to do so.... As if I didn't know.... I again didn't respond. This person needs to figure out a new way to reach customers and learn not to continue to reach out to clients who have hired someone else. This is borderline harassment and I don't really like that he can apparently see more info than I even can about my case. I say this because he mentioned the defendant was seeking a postponement but I have seen nothing about that. I would not recommend. Do your research and if you feel like someone is being pushy with you, don't hire them! read more

First time I ever tried to file for small claims court..... Trust me.... Its not for everyone. I just happened to run into National at their vehicle when I left discouraged. The gentleman was very helpful and explained tge process and gave me a very reasonable flat fee of the full service. I didn't want to go through the hassle and went with his services. It was quick and he gave constant communication throughout the process. In my opinion, Wayne is a high integrity individual. He assisted me in getting a wily individual served for a small claims matter.

On May 7, 2008 I went to the Small Claim Court in Los Gatos to file a lawsuit. The Court gave me a hearing date on July 2. I met with this person, Wayne, outside the Court. He solicited businesses for National Services, a legal serving service. (It was not clear to me if he was the owner or an employee of National Services). I asked to see his license and gave him the Court's document. He promised to start its delivery by the next morning. He cashed my payment check of $50 a week later. By the end of May, I called his office as I had not heard anything about the delivery of my paper. He/or another guy told me that they could not locate my case number until it would appear on his computer. By the second week of June, I called the Court who in turn told me that no proof of service had been filed yet. I called Wayne's office again to get the same answer. I waited for another week and called back. This time, I left a message on the answering machine telling National Services that I would report it to the District Attorney's office and the Court, if I did not hear anything about my papers with them. The truth was that I would need to know if my papers had been served properly before I could ask a witness to go to the Court with me. I think Wayne called back and was very angry with me. Of course, he could not give me any specific information about my case and told me this line "I HOPE YOU WOULD LOSE YOUR CASE". But he promised to have my papers delivered soon, though. I was so upset with his lack of professionalism and was ready to write a letter of complaint to the District Attorney's Office and the Court. The fact that he stood outside the Court building to solicit business might or might not be legal. The next workday he called me back, saying that my paper had been served and I would receive a copy of proof of service a week later. On June 30, I had called the National Services again as I had not received the proof of service. He told me that the copy had been mailed. I received it on July 1. I went to the Court on July 2. I won the case. I would like to post my comments here to alert other people: - National Services deserves ZERO STARS, in terms of quality service. As a plaintiff, you do need a lot of time after the proof of service to prepare for the case, especially when there is a witness involved. - Wishing a client that "I hope you would lose your case" does show that National Services has no professionalism. - Standing outside the Court building to solicit business might not be quite legal. - I am still thinking of writing to the Court and the District Attorney's office. So, my friends, don't fall into the trap of those guys standing outside the Court, after you file something with the Court. Good luck. read more

One star because that's the lowest you can go. This guy is a scammer. All he does is knock at door. If he is lucky the defendant answers. If the defendant is Wily this process server will try to charge to "stake out". He didn't listen to his client, me, after I had staked out Wily defendant and told this process server how and when to serve. Instead he knocked at the door again giving a heads up to Wily defendant. I hired another process server, Bay Area Process Services and Rui was the Bomb.!! So forget National. read more

NEVER HIRE WAYNE CIRAULO (National Services). He STOLE OUR MONEY ($170) !!!. Wayne solicited businesses for National Services outside San Jose Superior court wearing a red hat. He told us on the phone and email confirmed that he charged $85 per hour for stake out, no other server fee for each defendant. I double confirmed with him "is there any additional service fee for each defendant" and he said "NO". I also have email confirmation from him it is $85 per hour, no other additional fee. So he charged $340 (for 4 hour) cash using an online program . I asked him several times also and he confirmed it is 2 hour minimum, if he ended up only using 2 hour, then the rest of the money will be refunded to us. He delivered the paper using 2 hour, but then HE REFUSED TO RETURN US THE $170, after he took our money, he become rude, and he lied to us that he would need to charge additional serving defendants' fee ($85 first defendant and $50 second defendant). Then on his email, he said he will refund us $35 after all. Guess what, with so many of his rude emails back and forth, he now said that he WILL NOT REFUND $35 to us. His email said since we are good customer, he will give us a credit $50 if we give him business for collection service (because we won the case). HE IS A THIEF, HE WILL SAY WHATEVER HE NEEDS TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. We end up using another company "County Process Services" who is a lot cheaper and very professional, efficient and nice. When we check National Services business name, it is not on the CA registered business, Wayne might be using a DBA name to trick people also. He has a lot to hide. After he took our money, he only delivered the paper, but then his follow up is so slow and so poor and he is so rude. We are so upset that we met the wrong guy. Wayne is a very dishonest and rude guy who took our money. DO NOT USE HIS SERVICE OR YOU WILL REGRET. read more

I found Hana's review right _after_ I had engaged National under similar circumstances, and it had me worried. But these guys came through, with a 4-day turnaround, courteous phone confirmation, the whole transaction absolutely straightforward. I dock them one star only for the lack of website, the cheesy flyer, and the appearance of not having an actual office. But they delivered on the part that counted, which was serving the papers quickly to a defendant I'm pretty sure was attempting to evade process and quite experienced at it to boot. I will use National Services (aka AAA National Legal Services) again if I ever need a San Jose area process server. read more
