So I found Dandy auto on kijiji. They were running a special on $49 out of province inspections. I…read moremade an appt over the phone and they fit me in really fast. They got our business for two reasons - 1. They were very reasonably priced. . 2. They were the only company I called that actually picked up their phone. ( Cassandra goes above and beyond to make sure all calls are picked up, shes super woman) I got my truck in, it took about 4 hours but they were really through. I got a small list of things that needed to repaired to pass inspection and they gave me a reasonable quote. My husband however used this as an excuse to try out a different shop that is run by a family member. So we came back to our re inspection. I was quoted 30-1 hour. About 15 minutes into it, I was pulled into the service bay to have a talk. The shop we had just taken our truck to botched our rear breaks and then tried to cover it up. Bryan the service technician carefully and in great detail showed me the damage. He explained what the other mechanic did and what he tried to do to 'fix' it. If you want to call it that. The break was a ticking time bomb and eventually I would have lost my breaks. I am so thankful to Bryan that he caught this and repaired it. So we ordered all the parts and he went away to work. Unfortunately the caliper bracket didnt make it to us on time and I had to wait (at no fault to them) for 7 hours with a toddler. Cassandra did everything in her power to make sure I had supplies to entertain my daughter. Everyone was so nice and forgiving that my tiny terror was running around and occasionally screaming. At the end of the day it became obvious that the part wasn't coming in time. Cassandra called around to get me a rental, but everyone was booked out. And do you know what? I was stranded. Bryan the tech DROVE US HOME. He totally went out of his way to help us, we didn't have very many options to get home. So they got the part this morning and fixed up the truck. It cost us nearly double what Dandy quoted us when it was all said and done. In hindsight we should of just let them do it. I'm so thankful for Cassandra, Bryan and the entire Dandy crew. Bryan will be the only person working on our truck from here on out.

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had dealing with a mechanic shop…read more I took my car in for a clutch replacement b/c my disk was slipping and when I got my vehicle back the clutch was extremely sensitive making it difficult to drive without stalling. I called the shop and asked to speak to the owner (who I believe is Adam) to discuss the matter. I was very polite and calm and yet Adam became immediately defensive and was very belligerent/rude. I was basically told it wasn't their issue anymore and that if I wanted to I could bring the car back in and have them do another 'service' on it - for an additional fee. This is not a reputable shop. They say they guarantee their work with a warranty but they didn't with me. They are very polite when you bring your car in and when you're making payment but not if you have to deal with them afterwards for any warranty issues. The only good thing I can say about them is that they 'seem' to have cheaper prices compared to some of their competitors I called but then apparently so is their work! If you're looking for cheap prices and cheap workmanship then use this company otherwise do your research and find a more reputable company.

Due to…read moresome bad luck, our car broke down in the mountains and we decided to tow it back to Calgary rather than Canmore... the tow truck driver suggested Cochrane to minimize the distance, so I looked up this place and we decided to try it based on a good review. Normally I'm pretty cynical when it comes to mechanics, because I've had my share of issues with them, but the mechanic we dealt with deserves some kind of award for great service. Not just for a mechanic, but by any standard. He proved that he had exceptional troubleshooting ability with our car, and he was extremely patient in taking the time to explain to us (on the phone and in person) the nature of the problem, what he felt needed to be done, and why. Would I recommend this shop? Well, let me put it this way... we live in the SE of Calgary, but the next time I need major work done we'll be headed back out to Cochrane.

When we picked up the truck he only replaced the spark plugs and somehow the engine light started flashing after he replaced them. The vehicle quit running all together when we got it home. Out bill was several hundred dollars. When we asked Deep why he didn't fix the way the truck was running, his response was the Timing needed to be worked on. We had to take the truck somewhere else to get repaired. Walk don't run away from this company; I realize some customers may be happy with his work but this wasn't our experience. Deep's communication skills leave a lot to be desired and we are two seniors who couldn't afford to throw our money away for a non-repair.
