    Merch at Catfest 2024

Welp, okay I finally made it the National Western Complex for an event and the event was Catfest 2024! Depressed and on the fence about it, I made it to the last 2hrs of the event literally based on everyone's positive comments about previous years on Nextdoor app. I'm glad I did not drive there. However the uber ride on the way back was frustrating. I waited for 20min for the first one to get there and cancel on me because roads were blocked or something. Meanwhile cars were pulling up everywhere‍‍. I was hoping the second one wouldn't cancel. He didn't but he got there and I still had to wait 15min and had to go find him. So I guess if you're going to drive OR ride share, prepare yourself with patience. The space inside was huge! I actually got lost. But it was a very creative event and I enjoyed the cat competition and learning a little bit about how that works. Enjoyed seeing tables for specific breeds of cats. Enjoyed meeting other cat-sitters and chatting them up! Enjoyed learning about pet services like cat boarding and behavior therapists. Enjoyed the Egyptian cat section where you could connect to a past cat and such! I really love that I was not traumatized. I had not been to a Catfest before so I did not know how I would feel about it! I would definitely go again next year and spend a little more time. The cat merch was so silly. It was a fun time!

The Brick Fest was housed at the Western Complex. This was my first time going and I had my nephews with me so I thought it would be a great place to entertain them. They had a blast looking at the exhibits and they even had a Lego pit for them to explore, build and play.

I give the event four (4) stars, but the complex itself I get five stars I don't care for the security that they choose here they want to travel through all your personals when it is not necessary, I feel that it's an invasion of my privacy and my rights more to come....

There are various types of events I've gone to here. This weekend I went to ETH Denver! It is a huge space and excellent for holding a large event like this. The place was pretty clean including the bathrooms which there are plenty of. Lots of other venues sometimes don't have enough but that problem didn't exist here. It is also located in a nice area located in the heart of denver close to lots of other places with plenty of parking available all around this event including it's own event parking. It does smell in some parts of the building particularly the lower levels but that comes with the fact that it's normally often used for horses and animals and events like that. This is a great event space.

Lunch at the COMPLEX offers lots of different venues. We opted for A Bacon Cheese Burger and Fries along with a Chili Dog and Fries. Let me tell you the serving portions are as BIG as the NWSS itself. They do not gyp you. I still had bacon left over after I finished my perfectly prepared Burger. The fries were BIG and plentiful as well. Just a dang good lunchbb

I came here for Jurassic World and it was an awesome venue. It has great space, and I love that the location is close to a big parking lot. Although it seems strange that they charge for parking during special events. Overall, nice venue.

Yee haw! Those are always the first words I think of when I get to the Complex. Growing up, all I ever knew about this venue was the association to the stock show. Ok, and maybe the occasional gem and jewelry show. This venue hosts so many expos its great to see this place put to good use. I've been to many health expos here for (marathon) packet pickup and this time i enjoyed the Gluten and Allergy Free Expo. This is one event that was well organized and so many wonderful vendors on hand both local and from neighboring states. Its wonderful to have so much information and acess to company offerings under one roof. From the moment attendees walked in, we were greeted by helpful guides, provided a welcome bag and treated to many samplings, literature and classes. The only downside was the parking situation. With poor weather we were hoping to park in the lot ($10 buckaroos!). There were spots available but we were directed to park in the larger lot northwest of Elmyra. At that point we were just as happy to go further out and walk. Great event and hope to see again in the near future!

Lots of bouncy castle type of small kiddie attractions.

THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH NATIONAL WESTERN COMPLEX ITSELF! We are here at Jurassic Quest. Very disappointing especially for the amount of money paid. Go to the museum instead or take your kids to jump street. Either way much cheaper.

I'm usually there when it's covered in animal poop for the Stock Show, but even then it's a great time.

The staff are amazing, and go out of their way to ensure that everything is explained and you are set up to have a good time. It was very busy the night we went, but that wasn't an issue since you reserve your space ahead of time. We did both axe throwing and a bay rental for an hour. Renting a golf bay is incredibly cost effective since the cost does not change based on how many people you have (you can have up to 8). And even though I called it a golf bay there are TONS of options to play. The food and drinks (which you can order through a QR code) are also great. We had some wings and they were delicious. TL:DR - an awesome option for a night out with built in activities

It's a great little rooftop deck/bar. - The indoor lounge space is cozy and inviting. - The two cocktails I had there were well balanced and delicious. Not overpriced, considering location and vibe. Cons: - The very first bartender we went to (shorter, older guy with a beard) was pretty rude. I understand they were extremely busy and this was probably one of their first services, but at one point while he was making drinks I asked him a question about one of the cocktails and he barked at me to please stop talking to him because he was trying to remember the ingredients and he would be with me in a minute. My friends and I were all kind of taken aback by that. I wasn't being annoying, I was very friendly... and it would've been my first drink of the night so it wasn't a great experience to start out. - This is definitely a bougier place. Unfortunately the overall experience was not great. My friend made a reservation for the pool and expressed that we were interested in swimming and cooling off. After enjoying a round of drink and food, we got into the pool and lounged around the sides. We were approached by the only other person at the pool and were harshly told what we can and cannot be doing. This person was a resident and told us that we couldn't even touch a lounge chair. It was very rude and unnecessary considering the 30 empty chairs all around. This person then contacted the waitress and manager and made a huge deal of it. We were eventually asked to get out of the pool. This seemed like a huge miscommunication handled very terribly. This was not a great look for the building as it is still leasing unit out.

We loved the ambiance, feeling like we'd really discovered a gem off the beaten track, pun intended. By joining the club, it was a monthly excuse to plan a special night out to what became one of our favorite places for date night. It's been a couple of years now, but we had occassion to meet the owners, when we mistook their closing time for an hour later. The lights were still on, so we didn't realize our mistake, until they'd already invited us in to exchange our monthly growler with such warmth. Super nice people, reflecting the vibe we always felt on our other visits. The staff echoes that disposition, always friendly and knowledgeable. Though the winery isn't on-site, I've always been impressed with their tasting experience. I've now been a member for over 5 years, going in at least once a month, and they still suggest trying seasonal options and have broadened my palette... Though my ex and I have parted ways for a long while now and he moved away, he's kept our membership current, calling it my "alimony," and a nod to remembering the good times we had together. I recommend Bigsby's for all the good memories for all the folks, be it a lazy summer afternoon on the patio or a cozy evening in the lounge area with a glass of red when it's cold outside!

Then when he did acknowledge me and I stated I would sit at the bar, it took several minutes for the bartender to acknowledge me. The staff was busy speaking to each other and doing side work. Once I was acknowledged, things started getting a little better. When I arrived during breakfast/brunch, I was informed they were in the middle of a menu change, so my choices were limited. Breakfast items include bacon and burritos. I started off with a charcuterie board (though I had asked for a fromage board). This was not only because I wanted some tasty cheese, but I was trying to kill time until the lunch/dinner menu started. The board was a great board, two different meats, three cheeses, a loaf of bread, some nuts and jellies. But it was 40 dollars! I had a few small plates (which was still a lot of food). I had a melon and cucumber salad, which was a good palate cleanser. I also had the roasted king mushrooms, which were underwhelming with no seasoning, and they were a little chewy. The best thing was the wild boar meatballs, which were seasoned really well and in a savory, delicious marinara sauce. All the cocktails were fruity (but not sweet) and refreshing. I had one that was carrot based (Kiss my Carrot with tequila, cointreau, carrot, orange, and ginger), one that had pineapple flavor (paper boat with rum, falernum, aperol, lemon, pineapple), and the smoky smoke and flower (hibiscus mezcal, cointreau, pama, rose water). This spot is a winery, so they have a large wine list. They have handhelds like burgers and flatbreads. Starters like artichoke dip and bruschetta. Some of the current entrees, which might change, are hanger steak, chilean salmon, cauliflower steak. They had a gnocchi dish I was interested in, but it's already been removed from the menu. The restaurant is classy and just like a winery is expected to be. The food is pretty good. But the service was really subpar.

The Denver F1 bar has several areas that are sectioned, making it easy to host a group without overlapping with other customers. The food was really good! I loved the ahi tuna bites, the flat bread and the vegan quinoa bites. Staff was SO KIND and very attentive- even in the peak of multiple holiday parties. Everything is electronic, and your ball has a microchip in it, so it tracks your score. This was awesome for me, as sometimes it didn't record my strokes and gave me a slight advantage, although I still lost.
