I deal with a lot of vendors and I knew my same-day request (on a Saturday no less) would probably be met with cranky "not possible in the timeline" responses. Instead, I met Jolene on the other end of the phone. What a warm and positive person! She immediately took on my problems with grace and alacrity. She not only solved the heaters and blanket asks but also added so many details that I would never have thought of. Baskets to hold the blankets. Blankets tied with twine. Additional black napkins in case someone was wearing a dark outfit. Found local wines and beers. Just extremely thoughtful in everything she did. My event was not big or expensive. I'm from out of town so I'm probably not a repeat client (wish I could be!). And I had a very last minute weekend request. And Jolene pulled through 110%. We were an unlucky June 2020 couple and Carly helped us reschedule our wedding and contact vendors to navigate the tough times. We finally had our special day in May 2021 and it was perfection. Carly helped us make decisions about flowers and decor, even meeting us at Event Rents multiple times over the long planning process (2 years with the covid delay!). Our wedding was 135 people in Granby, CO, and Carly helped make it spectacular. Carly is incredibly knowledgable about the industry and Denver-vendors. She never led us astray with her recommendations, and gave us sound advice regarding selection of vendors based in Denver (vs mountain vendors). When we were looking into a caterer she had never worked with, she made the effort to reach out to several wedding planner friends to check in with them and get their opinions. She also kept us organized and on a timeline, and even reviewed all of our vendor contracts which is above and beyond a typical day-of planner. We communicated with her regularly starting from our engagement 1 1/2 years out from the wedding, and she was always quick to respond to emails and happy to answer any of our questions. This is very different from the policies of many of the other day-of planners we looked into, who really wouldn't get involved until 1-3 months out from the wedding. She also didn't have any rules about not responding to emails on Sundays of after-hours, which I've seen friends run into with their planners. Carly did a lot o behind-the-scenes communication with our vendors, often times without me realizing, which spared us from dealing with lots of logistical questions etc. She even sent an email out the week of our wedding, insisting that vendors use her as a primary point person from then until the wedding, so the we wouldn't be dealing with questions during the pre-wedding festivities. On the day of, she (and her assistant Ceecee!) was critical in doing everything from organizing the ceremony, directing people to where they needed to be, doing my bustle when my mother was occupied with something else, and corralled our guests to the appropriate locations as needed. You can tell that she came from New York since she is so organized, direct and efficient, which is exactly what we were looking for in a planner. She later mentioned that she had given me options for the entrance just moments before I was due to walk down. Why should such a critical decision be left until the most nerve-wracking moment? Lastly, we had a flower girl and her mother who arrived late to the rehearsal, meaning we couldn't practice their roles. Lilli failed to communicate the necessary instructions to them after they entered, leading to the flower girl becoming upset and wandering aimlessly during the ceremony. Before we arrived around 5:00 p.m. there was a hail storm that covered the ground with white. We were also a bit nervous because rain was in the forecast and the wedding ceremony was outside. Of course all the seats were wet, but the wedding venue or planner had umbrellas for everyone. One of my other cousins brought a wrap and she let many of us use that to dry off our seats. It basically started pouring right when the ceremony began and we all got pretty wet even with umbrellas, but my uncle who was officiating cut the ceremony pretty short which was funny. The house was beautiful and there was a big bar area on one side that everyone congregated at after the ceremony. Then a double rainbow appeared and everyone, including the wedding party went outside to take photos. The ballroom where the reception was held was really nice with a dance floor on one side in the middle.

Lauren was nice and communicated well at first when I was searching for a hair/makeup. She was a bit more reasonably priced considering the going rate and I decided to go with her. Unfortunately, as it got closer to my wedding I emailed her more than once and it took her a very long time to respond. When she finally did we talked about how she was going to need more hands then anticipated because we couldn't get into the venue until later in the day. I thought we had settled on what was needed but as the weeks got closer I contacted her again and she ghosted me. I sent several emails directly through her link with NO response at all. I finally reached her by phone. We talked briefly and I told her I understood how busy she was. We were supposed to reconnect via email later that day but it was a days later. I tried to confirm what we discussed but she responded as if we had never talked about her need for an extra set of hands. I reminded her of our previous discussions and I couldn't afford to pay more when we were already set to go. She felt doing me. I was thankful for the understanding although, there was a communication break down on her part. It was only weeks away from my wedding but I had a gut feeling that sent me on a search for a new stylist. However, being so late in the game there really wasn't much availability and I didn't have the energy to keep searching. Fast forward my wedding day and I was already stressed about the time crunch and the morning didn't go smoothly and I ended up being 20 minutes late...it was my bad because I lost the 20 minutes for my hair and makeup. As I got to the room I was very apologetic for being late and shouted up the stairs "sorry, are you going to kill me?" Trying to make light of it as well as apologizing for my tardiness. The first thing out of her mouth in a very nasty tone was "well I'm going to charge you!!" The way I see it if she was desent human with good customer service she would have helped to relieve some stress rather than add to the stress. That didn't happen at all! I was frustrated with her approach and she was upset that I was late to the service I paid for. She told me I disrespected her on my wedding daydisrespected her. Now mind you I did apologize for being late. We continued to have a heated discussion which included her assistant chiming in while excusing Lauren's behavior. That's when my family walked into a disaster. My sister and mom asked her numerous times to see if we could please make this work. My mom even offered to skip hers ALL together to get everyone else done and not cause stress for Lauren. My mom's tone was very apologetic although she did nothing wrong. Lauren wasn't having it and wasn't listening. She was caught up on making it about herself and how she couldn't work in these conditions. I told her more than once she could leave but everyone pleaded with her to stay. She finally left as more heated words were exchanged. She caused a great deal of stress and disappointment. However, all said and done we managed beautifully without her. After my wedding I contacted her to get my money back knowing I lost the deposit. She responded very shortly with how this will be her last communication and I could contact her through a lawyer. I simply reminded her that she provided NO service and needed to send my payment back but I decided to stop reaching out so I was no longer consumed by the thought of her. I contacted my bank to dispute the charge. It is sad to put these words down about someone and their business but I'd hate to see anyone go through what I did on their very special day
