Called spurlock and they will not take responsibility since I authorized the company that was already here to fix it. I guess they expected me and my family to potentially spend another night with no heat waiting for them to possibly get out here when I had someone already here who could fix it. I do not trust any of the electrical work done on my house now. Edit in Response to chad: this was not an issue that could wait. It's Not like I had an outlet that didnt work, this was our heat. It was 40 degrees last night. I have a 5 year old. It had to be fixed immediately. So of course I used someone who was already here. So they lied to us for days for about 5 different phone calls for them to just call on Monday and admit they were lying. No one was going to come help us and they knew that. He said he "thought" I had flipped the breaker, although I gave no indication of that. And he was a total spaz case. Earlier, I had a good experience with Mr Knepper who helped me get a real antique running good as new. He couldn't have been nicer or more knowledgeable and has been an instructor in HVAC. He was well spoken, neat in appearance and took time to answer my questions. The diagnostic fee of $95 is about $20 higher than in the Atlanta metro area (my recent experience with my home there) but Shawn had to travel a bit to get to me. Overall, a good experience.

I'd like to think that I already had compassion and empathy for my residents whenever this would occur. Now that I've gone through it I definitely have an extra soft spot in my heart for what they go through. ServiceMaster by Bailey probably wouldn't have been my top choice for remedying this problem. ServiceMaster has a great reputation for cleaning fire damage, flood issues, and mold problems. They're also known for being expensive. You truly do pay for the expertise (and for the employees). Our property manager called them (this is a condo, not an apartment, so that makes a difference because we're the ones paying) to expedite a resolution. Two techs came out after the vice-president of something evaluated the damage wearing a very expensive suit. That's the first sign that this isn't going to be cheap. Subsequent evaluations had them recommending two dehumidifiers and about ten blowers. The dehumidifiers cost $101/day and the blowers $27/day. They estimated that it would take about 3 days to dry everything. I didn't think all of that was necessary and recommended that they pull out all the wet carpet padding to speed up the drying process. Flash forward 12 hours later. One dehumidifier was placed in the room with the wet carpet along with three blowers. Two more blowers were in the living room drying the hardwoods. What's the result? The carpet and padding is still sopping wet and they never removed it. They're coming back today to evaluate and I'm sure their recommendation will be to add more equipment. What they need to do is take out the wet padding and blow air under the carpet. It will dry in just a few hours. I hope I'll be able to update this with a 5-star review.
