Native Bagel is aesthetically pleasing. They offer great locally sourced food and coffee. Their staff members are kind. The building can get crowded and harder to navigate on busy mornings. [TLDR] I'm not super into bagels so when my friends suggested that we go to Native Bagel, I wasn't sure if I'd be a fan. But their bagels are soooooo much better than anything you can get at the store. I mostly get their seasonal cream cheeses like the strawberry and pumpkin. I wish they had more cream cheese options. It does seem like they've been experimenting with different flavors and menu items recently. I like their coffee more than any other coffee shop in the area. I prefer my coffee on the sweeter side. I get the iced raspberry (or blackberry) white mocha. It's perfect! I like that I can order online. When you place an online order, they will set your order at the end of the bar near the door when it is done. The staff members are pretty nice. If you order at the counter, they will bring your food out to you. You have to throw away your trash when you are finished. The aesthetic is so pretty. I love the vibes. There are two single stall gender neutral restrooms located to the left of the order counter. They are decent size restrooms. My one gripe is about the size of the venue. It's small and a little crammed, especially since they put in the bar. At times, the place is hard to navigate as an able bodied person, so I'd imagine a disabled person with mobility issues or even someone with a stroller would have a harder time. There is a ramp to get into the main entrance of the building, however, the door is not automatic. I figure there's not much they can really do to solve the issue unless they expanded the building which I understand isn't quite feasible. I only bring this up because I love Native Bagel and I feel like it kinda does impair the experience a little bit. A person with a mobility aid would probably have as easier time navigating Just Love Coffee Cafe down the street than Native Bagel. If you go on Saturday morning it is often crowded! Be prepared to wait in line, and know that there may not be a free table to sit inside. I know this because my friend group and I went every week when we were enrolled at Berea College. There are a few tables outside by the parking lot. Also keep in mind that toward the end of the day they can start to run out of bagels. In the evening, they use the same venue for Nightjar, a bar and dine in restaurant. read more

We were first time customers and Yelped this place on our way from Charlotte to Indy. It was still before noon and decided to give a local place a try. They offer a variety of bagels and bagel sandwiches. My husband and I both ordered breakfast sandwiches and a single serve coffee. They offer 'bottomless' cups of coffee or a single version. We opted for a single cup. We go to fill our coffee cups and they run out of coffee. She says she'll make some more which she does but doesn't come tell me she fills it. I find out because i see someone else go up to fill their cups. A few minutes later they bring our food out and we look at it and they switched up the meats on our sandwiches so i had to ask them to remake them. So our single cup of coffee was long gone before we even got our food. Not sure how long this place has been in business but i feel you could work a little on your communication. I was intrigued by their falafel sandwich and while it did not come with the pickled okra that I saw in some earlier documentation, the falafel itself plus the greens and pickled onions still made for an impressive flavor combination and a worthy breakfast. My chai latte was large and had a soft, warming spice combination. The bagels themselves offer a rich flavor with a hint of sourness and a well-boiled exterior. I had no trouble finishing off that half dozen, either plain or toasted with an appropriate spread, and the flavor mix included classics with a few innovations. To start, the food is so delicious! I recommend that everyone give this place a shot. The service is amazing. My negative comments are less about the food and more about the recent atmosphere shift. I used to love coming here to do computer work, but lately, the music has made it difficult to even eat in at all. The music recently took a turn and now it's not only too loud but disruptive because the song choices make no sense for a coffee shop. They're mixing up Disney tunes, 2000s hits, and a bunch of other random genres that don't really flow together. One moment you're jamming to "The Lion King," and the next they switch it up to Pentatonix. It's like they've got the same playlist on repeat every single time I go. The owner uses local foods so she can insure the quality of her ingredients, and it is evident in the food she serves. I had the most delicious mocha. It was so good that I ordered another to go. Probably the best bagels I've had outside of NYC. They source as many of their ingredients as they can from the Berea College Farm, which means they're about as fresh as they can be. The staff are all friendly and helpful, and even let my goddaughter try a flavored cream cheese to see if she liked it before she committed to it. Today, I ate a cinnamon-raisin bagel, plain cream cheese, and a chai latte. The bagels are fresh, chewy, and amazing. The cream cheese is whipped and comes in a reasonable quantity. Their cream cheese and food products are made from locally-sourced ingredients, and they have a wide variety of handmade bagels to choose from. The chipotle mayo gives it that extra hint of flavor. And their house coffee is great. Their Beekeeper Latte is made from local honey, and it is delicious. My husband isn't too fond of coffee or lattes, and he says this drink is amazing. This business does require masks and is following state and federal guidelines for COVID-19. You can place orders online for pick up, or you can eat there. There are signs in the building regarding seating, and there are a few outdoor seating options. Great little spot about three minutes off exit 76. The place is super cute and modern inside with lots of plants, and bright lighting.
