They also happened to have a great jewelry sale, and I browsed through the earrings --- ended up purchasing a fantastic pair of earrings and also a bracelet, both gifts. They were 20 percent off! Interior ambience was cheerful and welcoming, and service was great. I was so happy with my purchases---great finds, excellent value. Highly recommended, and I am looking forward to going back again. Do you like impolite, crabby store owners? Me neither. The proprietor of Native Boutique... Oof. Ay Caramba! In my estimation, the only thing she is native to -- is being extremely unpleasant. It's amazing how this woman has destroyed any good energy that her store used to have. Just massacred it. It seems that ever since she got rid of her employees, maybe about a year ago, she's in the store all the time and she is just such a pill. I've stopped shopping there because, in my experience, she finds every opportunity to be nasty and unwelcoming. My girlfriends feel the exact same way. We used to love that store -- when her employees were working there -- because they were all super sweet. But then, when Madame Minotaur started working at Native Boutique each day, she took every ounce of joy out of that place. I mean, come on...even hell greets you at the gate. I finally wrote this review because my daughter happened to wander into that store recently, not knowing that my girlfriends and I had boycotted it, and she experienced the exact same treatment from the owner. My daughter is a very sweet, timid girl, but Baba Yaga's true colors slid right out of her orifices and she made my daughter feel like she was imposing on her. It's really is astounding how horrible this woman was to all of us, and on several occasions to boot! I just can't believe it. The first time I encountered her, I just figured she ran out of medication - but then I realized that she might be this miserable everyday. Hope she gets better soon. Oy Vey. Maybe she's lonely. Maybe she's depressed. I don't know. But there are other shops nearby, my lovelies. Native won't be missed. Happy hunting, ladies! read more

I was at a loss for something to buy for my daughter-in-law's birthday. Then, I remembered that Native was her favorite place to shop when she lived in LA. I'm far away in Colorado, and had no way to shop the store, but I called and spoke to Michelle. She not only remembered my daughter-in-law, she literally tried on clothes for me over the phone in order to help me pick sizes and colors. Love this place! It's one of those places that make Eagle Rock such a wonderful community. Michelle, the owner, is always so welcoming and supportive. She always helps me find something that makes me feel beautiful and stylish. Such a different experience than a big corporate store. They have a $20-$25 rack, where I've gotten a bunch of fun cheap finds, and I alwaysstock up during their end of season 1/2 off sales (one of which is happening now, hint hint..) I love that I can shop there for myself and my teen daughter, and we can both find great clothes that fit our style. I have also gotten many gifts there - great modern (inexpensive!) jewelry, candles, purses, and other fun goodies when you want to treat yourself or find something special for someone else.
