Rosado Jr, who is the registered president for this company, finalized a contract with us on 3/14/17 for a new "Standard" kitchen remodel. The new kitchen remodel was to include white wood cabinets, granite counter tops, handles and hardware, 50/50 sink, crown moldings, old kitchen removal, labor, and delivery & install. Mr. Rosado presented himself professionally with a Mercedes work van that included a cabinet and granite showroom internally. He led us to believe we were receiving outstanding customer service, however, after several months of issues and lack of communication from the business, Mr. Rosado's manners and customer service have proven to be the complete opposite. Mr. Rosado personally installed our kitchen approximately on 3/29/17. The kitchen was finalized shortly after. On 4/6/17, we contacted Mr. Rosado, as 7 cabinets doors began to crack where the handles/internal hardware were attached. Mr. Rosado was always hard to get a hold of, but at this point he was simply not answering. After numerous attempts, I called him from a different number and he agreed to come. On 5/19/17, Mr. Rosado and an associate removed the 7 cabinet doors and took them for repainting and repair. He promised us that they would be repaired, repainted, and returned to us on Saturday 5/26/17. He was also going to "re-caulk" some areas where the caulking came undone. Once again after numerous attempts to contact Humberto and his associates, he sent a new entity (Cesar Ruben Rodriguez Reyes) that we had never dealt with on 6/4/17, one door was missing and all of the other doors had the existing issues and new issues. The doors were now dented and damaged in several locations, along with signs of a bad paint job. We refused the doors and the associate told us that he would resubmit the doors for repaint and repair. As of 6/9/17, we were still missing the 7 doors, the "re-caulking", the covers for all of the screws that hold the cabinets, and door handles. This is a huge safety hazard for our family, as we have small children and all of the glass, utensils, medicines, etc. are all exposed. On 6/12/17, Cesar returned with 5 doors that we reluctantly accepted, as they were not perfect, but we feared that we would not have any doors at this point. He was missing 2 doors, hardware, etc. Upon his arrival, he installed 1 door above our brand-new stove. Upon his installation, he stepped on the glass top cover and shattered the glass. I've tried to reach out to Humberto Rosado Jr. about this, who told me he wished I would never call him again and hung up on me. As of today, 6/29/17, I'm missing 2 doors, caps to cover screws, handles, caulking job, and a broken glass stove top.

I still wake up thankful for him and his team. Gary was very hand-on and patient with me. I asked for significant changes; taking down structural wall, sealing original back door, adding large patio doors, re-building and enlarging the entire kitchen. Every inspection passed on the first try! I love the crew. They showed up promptly every day. They did wonderful work and left each day cleaned up because we were still living in the home. Everyone was so respectful and talented: Michelle, Chuck, Nick, Gus, Maurizio, David, Randy and so many others worked on my home. I will always be grateful for how much care they put into re-building my home. The payment method was different than I expected, but we saved so much money because Gary was so respectful of our budget. I am so happy with GLK. I'm want to hire them again for a garage addition one day. It's funny to say that I hate construction, but I'm looking forward to working with GLK again.

Review for BKR General Construction…read more I truly wish I had known about the lack of experience at BKR General Construction before hiring them. The owner, Sergio Avila, is very green and it shows in every aspect of how this company operates. Throughout the project, Sergio led me to believe that all inspections had passed, even though major work was left incomplete or poorly done. Despite these issues, he repeatedly requested final payment. The quality of work was extremely disappointing. His father, Francisco, oversaw most of the project, even though I was charged $600. a week for a "supervisor" who was supposed to be on-site -- a supervisor who simply did not exist. This project started on November 15, 2023, and although we moved back into our home in November 2024, it is now six months later and the project is still not completed. The poor workmanship includes things like a pocket door installed with no drywall in between (you can literally see paint dripping off the wall), and many other serious issues that would make this review far too long if I listed them all. Additionally, BKR mishandled my appliances, leaving them outside uncovered and damaged. They pressured me into signing a second contract to shift responsibility away from them -- something I deeply regret doing, but at the time I was desperate to get back into my home. Later, they even attempted to get me to sign a third contract to finish the same work originally promised. Out of principle, I refused. To this day, Sergio still has not fulfilled his contractual obligations, and there are still open permits that have not been closed, even though he claimed everything had been taken care of. If you are looking for a nightmare project, BKR General Construction is the company to hire. Otherwise, I strongly warn you to stay away.

They came and did what should have been a cartridge replacement on a shower faucet for my mother (a…read morewidow). When the guy got there, he said that he needed to change out the whole mixing valve because he has never seen anything like the cartridge that needed to be replaced. He told my mom that the brand was "UPC." Well, UPC stands for "Unified Plumbing Code," which isn't a brand. The actual brand ended up being American Standard. I had my mom text me pictures of the mixing valve once she got it out. After about 10 minutes of searching, I found the cartridge she would've needed online.
