They were able to get Max in for a same-day appointment last week for his chronic cough, and when he wasn't improving and his appetite decreased, they quickly scheduled him for the very next day when I called. WTF less than 5lb dog for an unfortunate euthanasia, end of life procedure on my dog and they charged me $450 to get it done. The cost is outrageous. I could see it being between $80-$250 for the whole process. A quick Google search set the costs around $100-$300. Expect to wait even if you have an appointment. Total an hour length waiting for the inevitable to happen. Side note the vet assistance/vet tech and Doctor were very nice, caring and respectful. read more

Of the various vets I've been to since 2008, this one is by far the very best I've been to - in all of Solano, Sac, and YOLO counties! I've had bulldogs, English and French, both known for their numerous issues. I was able to schedule and be seen almost immediately and the staff is amazing. To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally document concerns regarding my recent experience with Natomas Veterinary Clinic while seeking care for my service dog. During my initial visit, I paid for required services, including a fecal test and influenza vaccinations, in preparation for my dog's neuter procedure. At no time during that visit was I informed that these services would need to be repeated within a 30-day window in order to proceed with the procedure. I was later told that this information had been communicated via email, however after reviewing my email records I was unable to find any message notifying me of a 30-day requirement. Because this information was not clearly communicated to me, I was surprised to learn that I was being charged again for the same fecal test and influenza vaccinations that I had already paid for. This lack of communication created confusion and resulted in additional charges that I did not believe were appropriate. When I attempted to explain that I had already paid for these services and that I had not been informed of the 30-day requirement, the situation escalated and I became understandably upset. I also felt that I was treated unfairly during this interaction. My dog will be a service animal that I rely on due to my health conditions, and the neuter procedure was scheduled within a specific timeframe. I respectfully asked the clinic to continue with the appointment and explained that I was willing to address the billing concerns separately if necessary. Despite this request, the clinic declined to proceed with the scheduled service and denied further treatment. Additionally, they failed to allow me to communicate directly with the owner, which I had intended to do in good faith. Given that this situation involved a service animal and medical reliance, the denial of care under these circumstances is deeply concerning and may raise potential issues related to ADA protections. My intention in submitting this complaint is to document the lack of communication regarding required timelines, the duplicate charges for services I had already paid for, and the subsequent denial of veterinary services. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and that clarification be provided regarding the clinic's policies on communication of medical requirements, billing practices, and denial of services. I noticed that my cat's litter smelled strange and had an abnormal color, and I thought my cat had a urinary tract infection. Previous hospital tests were unprofessional and failed to detect a urinary tract infection. When I bring my cat came to this hospital, the vet quickly detected a urinary tract infection and gave my cat antibiotics on the second day. Everyone here is friendly. This has taken me awhile to write. I chose Natomas Veterinary from reviews-my experience was awful. I will not name doctors because that's not my style, however the doctor I got to look at my sick kitty gave her a 5 minute check and did not look in her mouth which was the problem I brought her in for. The 2nd doctor had a kind manner and was able to examine my cats mouth and discovered the problem right away-however he did not explain the side effects of the drug he prescribed so I was very upset that was not told to me beforehand. $1,000 later neither doctor has ever followed up with me on how my cat is doing. I took my Cuddlefish here for an overall checkup because the previous owner never took it. My cat was given to me because the previous owner was going to ditch it at the shelter after 5 years of neglecting him. Dr. Tate was really patient and kind to me as a first time owner. She answered all of my questions regarding eating habits, scratching posts, and pet insurance. The front desk was so nice and accommodating as well. My experience there the first time was freifjteni g because the doctor walked in not knowing my dogs condition and immediately excused herself and I left it at that. Second time, the front office is unprofessional and promised to mail me my dogs rabies tags and I still have not recieved them. I sent them an email and they responded that the county does not require tags in Sacramento. I looked into this and that was a false statement. In Sacramento County, if you receive a citation for not having a current dog license or rabies vaccination tag, you need to purchase the license and rabies vaccination, and then visit the shelter to have the citation cleared within 7 days, or it will be sent to court. Now, who wants to go through that ordeal when they were paid and I was promised to pick up. read more

I was very disappointed during my recent visit. First off, I don't appreciate being told you require a heart worm test when my dog takes Heartgard on a monthly basis. This is an attempt by you to charge me more money. And when I oppose the test I'm told this is the last time you will allow me to waive the test and the next time we come back I will be required to do it. You know what my thought was when I was told this, "ok I won't come back." Is that the customer experience you're aiming for? Let me remind you, I've been a customer at this office for over 20 years and Dr. Kirsch would never have placed such an ultimatum on a customer. All you're going to do is lose a customer. Make no mistake about it, there are half a dozen other vert offices in Natomas alone. You need me a lot more than I need you. Secondly, I asked for a 1 year prescription for Heartgard and what you provided me was a 6 month prescription with one refill. But what you fail to realize is you are costing the customer more money by doing this. I can only buy a 6-month supply, which cost more per dose that a 12-month supply AND I have to pay shipping twice AND it's an inconvenience to me having to place another order 6 months later. Think...use your brain...is that is in the best interest of the customer? Of course not, doing such a thing just tells me how clueless you guys are. You clearly do not have your customer's best interest in mind. You're self-serving and your reputation under the new ownership shows it. I've read numerous posts on NextDoor about their poor experiences at this office. I get the feeling the new owner of this practice has no idea how to run a business. Unless I see a drastic change to your operations I will never come back again. read more

I had just had a TERRIBLE experience at Banfield Hospital in Natomas so I did not know what to expect but the staff from front to back was so incredibly kind, helpful and respectful to me and my pet. I used to work at a vet office years ago and the vet I used to work for did detailed exams, even when someone would just come in with a specific issue. If you're paying for an exam, the vet should honestly check every nook and cranny. I've wanted to find a vet like that for my dogs' care. Before moving to Natomas in 2018, I lived in Citrus Heights and that's where I commuted all these years for my dogs' vet care. However, their regular vet office could never get us on the books in a timely manner. So I've been looking for a new vet. Earlier this year, I finally tried another vet in Natomas but when I tried to book another appt, they had a three-week wait. No thanks. Earlier this week, I called several vets to see my dog for a skin and ear infection. Natomas Veterinary Hospital was able to fit my dog in as a new patient. I didn't go in with high expectations bc of my last experience. Well, Dr. Lin really went above and beyond. He did a detailed exam, checked my dog fully -- just like the vet I used to work for did -- he didn't rush the appt, answered all my questions and explained everything to me. He did tests on my dog's skin and ears that no vet has ever offered. Ever! My dog is 9. Why didn't I find Dr. Lin sooner? He also said my dog needed stronger dosage of antibiotics that he was prescribed in the past and longer duration. All these years and I finally have answers and my dog can finally be treated the right way. I'm definitely sticking with this vet. And I'm also switching my other dog to this vet. read more

Great vet experience. They take a $69 deposit for new clients, which is totally fine by me as they apply it to the vet exam fees when you show up. The vet and staff were super friendly and kind. I felt heard and understood. My dog received royal treatment and was thrilled that they checked his temperature via his ear. The vet was low pressure and didn't try to up sale me. I picked this vet because it was a good location for work and home. I planned on bringing my new puppy here for the span of her life. Unfortunately that will not be the case. I made a new puppy appointment to get her vaccinated. I arrived for my appointment and was seen by a tech, then a vet and they explained what vaccines she needed. Then the tech came back and said they were out of one of the vaccines and would have it later that day. They would give her one, and call me in the afternoon to come back for the other. They did not explain that she HAD TO have it the same day. They did not call me that afternoon and called the next day for a "follow up" not mentioning the vaccine at all. I called back and set up the time to bring her back for the shot. They called me 20 minutes before the appointment to say she needs to wait 2 weeks now. I am furious. That pushes everything back for her to go the park with me and my kids and to be protected. If I had been notified that they were out of the vaccine earlier, I would have gone somewhere else. If I had been informed that she needed to get it the same day or it would push everything back, I would have called that afternoon to get her back in. This vet has dropped the ball and I would like the owners to know why they are losing customers. Now I have to go to another vet IN 2 WEEKS and pay another visit fee because this place doesn't know how to operate. read more

We have been taking Lola here for a little over 41/2 years, since we moved to Sacramento. Dr. Pate and Dr. Amend are excellent vets. Lola is almost 15 years old and they have been very good at managing her pain and her cancer. They love her and it shows. Ashley is vet tech, also excellent and kind.
