Another 5 star visit to Sactown Vet. Brought Jack in for goopy eye. Arrived a few minutes early, was checked in, Hack weighed then ushered to a room. A staff member asked medical info, reason for visit and confirmed our records were up to date. Maria Q popped in to say hello to us and encouraged him with a couple treats. She's always great with us! Next a young Asian tech came in reconfirmed the purpose of our visit, followed by Dr Cole coming in for exam. More treats, a kind approach where she got on the floor with Jack; he is super shy. Good exam, prognosis, eye drops for a week and a reasonable bill. Everyone is always kind, gentle, caring and friendly to owners and pets, Thank you all for a great visit!

After a year of searching for a veterinary clinic for my pup. I was delighted to be referred to SacTown Vet. I was impressed by how quickly they were able to schedule an appointment. From the moment we arrived, the experience was outstanding. Cami greeted us with warmth, making us feel at ease right away. Soon after, the team--Tyler, Cylysce, Sophie, and Dr. DiNinni--introduced themselves, creating a welcoming atmosphere that felt like family. Throughout the visit and procedure, they provided exceptional care and attention, making both Artaois and I feel valued. Discovering a place that treats us with such kindness truly enhances the joy of caring for a pet. Thank you!!!

Great front & back staff and Dr Cole was so nice, calm and thorough. Clinic is clean, organized and quiet. Everyone was so polite and helpful. It's easy to schedule via phone or their website. All the techs were kind and gentle with my cat. I like that they are transparent with the costs and everything was reasonably priced. My cat needs more care and testing so I will be back when I can manage it.

When I first got my kitten she was really young and had a leaky squinty eye so I needed to find a vet ASAP and glad we found Sactown vet! - Office is bright and clean. - Communication has never been an issue EVER. They had to reschedule my first appointment and they were apologetic and were able to get me in the next day. They have always been so transparent about estimates when other places may decline giving a quote over the phone. They have always asked for confirmation from me the pet owner before doing any tests, or exams. Very easy to contact them via calls and or texts and their app is user friendly. - They have their own parking lot and plentiful parking on the street. -They really take their "fear free" title seriously and take so much pride in it. You will see it displayed when you walk in to check in. They take those steps to keep your pet calm with either waiting outside or in your car, warmed blanket for my kitten and those feliway diffusers in the room for the "cat room". They also are always asking if there are other dogs in the waiting room before letting another dog out of the office. If you don't hold those same standards I would go somewhere else. - So helpful and willing to give so much information. Kim who works in the front sent me information regarding car rides for my cats, the office sent tips on how to get my cat ready for the appointment. Thank you to Dr. Thornton, Dr. Cole and their team especially Presley, Wendy, Gina, Kim, Monse, Paulin, Kendall, Kaley and Siana for their help. My poor kitten has been to the vet more than she wanted in her short life but each time in the office has been amazing despite some circumstances.

I stumbled upon this veterinary clinic about a year ago after my small dog suddenly lost all feeling in his lower body. He was completely paralyzed, and another vet had advised me to put him down. Desperate for another option, I came here seeking acupuncture and I'm so glad I did. Under their care, my dog made a full and remarkable recovery. It's been nearly 10 months now with no recurring issues. He's back to being his mischievous and feisty self. Since then, I've brought two other pets here and consistently received outstanding care. The entire staff--from the front desk to the veterinary assistants--is not only friendly but refreshingly calm and welcoming compared to other clinics I've visited. The thoughtful touches don't go unnoticed either: drinks for pet parents, special treats for pets, and even pheromone-infused blankets to help keep cats at ease. It's all very lovely. I've recommended this clinic to several of our lovely neighbors, and every one of them has come back with glowing reviews. I highly recommend Sactown Vet!

I definitely recommend SacTown Vet, the staff is very kind and caring. I took my beloved 18 year old chihuahua there for treatments a few times and had to unfortunately put her down with the assistance of SacTown vet. Dr. Nunes and medical assistant Winona are saints, they were so caring and empathetic and handled everything with grace allowing me to mourn my sweet baby in peace. To me they were reasonably priced and let you know beforehand what the costs of everything will be before proceeding forward with anything if it wasn't emergent. Very clean and cute little office. I like how personable the staff is. I will definitely be bringing my future fur babies here for care. Thank you SacTown Vet!

Such a cute idea! I love this place.

Sactown Vet has been the best recommendation for my family. We have many animals that have been under excellent care. We have had some bad situations at other places so being able to feel comfortable and as if they are being transparent is a big deal for us. 10/10 recommend!

2 visits with the new doctor... that's one good-looking foot. I can tell it will heal fast.

I recently took my puppy to them with a terrible foot infection (I still believe it was caused by my previous vet for numerous reasons) and fell in love with this place. When I took my dog to my initial vet for a broken toe, he came out with red blood throughout the whites of his eyes, as if he was "restrained" rather roughly. Not here! I was with him the entire time. This place is even cheaper than my longtime vet as well. I love that they have private rooms and do their best to do what they can in there. My tech tried to get my pups bandages off but he was having none of it. She had the patience of a saint. I, was over it. We tried lick mats, snacks...you name it. I finally said he could be sedated. It wasn't worth the battle and stress. Sedation was done in the room and they moved us back to the treatment area. They comfy up the metal tables and lightly cover their eyes with a towel. What took my vet 7+ hours to destroy took them about 3 hours to fix. For oir second follow up, Dr. increased his meds and no sedation was needed. We are heading soon to our 3rd follow up, his wound looks AMAZING . Now to get that darn broken toe healed, which they are also working on. We love the vets office. I'm all for being with my dogs when they need me most. Not to mention they do Happy Visits... you bring your pet in and they get treats from the staff, not services. Just to show that it's not always a scary place.

Amazing vets and staff. Everyone is so kind and I absolutely love their texting system. With three pets and a toddler the ease of communication is such a huge help. Definitely a pricey vet but worth the cost if you want your pets to work with a team that really cares about them and you!

I've taken my young dog here to get his standard shots/exams, but this last week I took him in for a leg issue that turned out to need surgical intervention. Scary, and expensive news. But the team was so great. Got us in for a same day, after hours appointment, and scheduled his surgery within a week of calling in. Doctor Baum called me personally to explain what was happening, why he recommended the surgery, a video of how the surgery works, and a detailed estimate. Gave me time to process because it can be overwhelming mentally and financially. Staff all loved on my boy both visits - it's a good sign when your dog wags his tail entering the vets office. Day of the surgery doctor called me before and after surgery to check in, and reviewed the results with me. Private Equity firms are buying up practices and hospitals all over the country. Unfortunately, our dog's recent dental procedure was extremely disappointing. Our dog is a healthy, active 6-year-old who had been seen just two months earlier for his annual exam. We dropped him off for a dental cleaning at 8:00 a.m. and were told he was one of several dogs scheduled that day. We were told we would receive an update around 1:00 p.m. At 1:30 p.m. we received a call that he was ready to be picked up. When we arrived, the veterinarian spoke with us briefly in the crowded lobby and mentioned, almost in passing, that they had removed all four of his upper front teeth. We were shocked and had to ask her to repeat what she had said. What upset us most was not necessarily the decision itself, but the lack of communication. We were never contacted during the procedure to discuss the findings or the recommendation to remove four teeth. Although not required because we did sign the waiver, most dog owners I spoke to said their vets routinely did this. Afterward, there was little explanation of why the extractions were necessary, what the long-term implications might be, or what to expect during recovery. We were then given medications and told to administer them for 7 or 14 days. When we asked follow-up questions later by email, we were unable to get direct answers. Instead, we repeatedly received responses that did not address the specific questions we had asked. Even after speaking with a second veterinarian, our concerns remained unanswered. The experience left us feeling unheard and uninformed at a time when we were worried about our dog. A simple phone call during the procedure, a private conversation after the surgery, and clear answers to our follow-up questions would have made a tremendous difference. One thing the clinic communicated very thoroughly was the cost of the procedure. We received multiple reminders and explanations about fees before, during, and after the appointment. I only wish the same level of communication had been applied to explaining the treatment our dog received and the medications he was prescribed.

When I arrived, there were already multiple pets in the waiting area, including two small dogs that were growling at mine. My dog handled it well and stayed calm. However, when two men walked in, my dog barked out of discomfort. Instead of handling the situation professionally, the receptionist.. without even making eye contact.. said in a very dismissive/fake tone, "does your dog want to wait outside?" I waited outside, while the two men who came in after me got serviced before me? While waiting, the front desk staff also made an awkward joke about my dog "not being blue, but red," and then doubled down on it when no one laughed. It came across as unprofessional and uncomfortable rather than friendly. The bigger issue came during our appointment. When we were finally brought back, the nurse had completely incorrect information and thought we were there for a prescription related to incontinence. Something my dog has never had or been treated for. I had to re-explain that we were simply there for updated shots and an exam, which should have been clearly communicated beforehand but the front desk got that wrong too. I don't blame the nurse or the vet as they were nice as could be. Overall, the experience felt disorganized and dismissive. From the front desk interaction to the lack of accurate information, it didn't give me confidence in their communication or care. I hope they take steps to improve how the front desk interacts with both pets and owners.

Sunday a.m. 11 16 25 called Veterinary Medical Center for appt to learn to express dog's urine until her vet was in, got appt @ 3 pm, repeated same issue above to receptionist & Dr. Umar Khan. I expected Dr. to express urine but he never did. He said, "You are only going to be back." Then he talked about xray/labs & surgery that he could do-I couldn't afford that. His next statement completely threw me for a loop."He said she was in severe pn, needed to be euthanized."I had been up 32 hrs, my brain just shut off. Instead of seeing she was not in pn, I took his word for it. The only exam Dr. did was flick her hips w/his finger, her skin quivered. I have had many animals euthanized and never experienced the trauma I was subjected to w/Dr. Kahn. I feel Dr. is incompetent, heartless. I feel he murdered my dog for $648 euthanasia fee. She did not need to be euthanized IF he had followed my request, & the exam/doctor responsibility protocol I had researched after the euthanasia. (his vet tech could have taught me to express urine since since Dr. was in a hurry to get to surgery) He knew her abdomen was distended so he should have expressed the urine, given me Tramadol for pn/Methocarbamal to relax her muscles to express her urine. Research said dogs don't always need surgery, dogs live paralyzed. I had both of my dogs w/me, in my lap, when it was time for the euthanasia. Dr. came @ my dogs like he was on a mission, they began to freak out to the point I was trying to keep them from falling on the floor. Dr. did not stop so I could calm dogs. The dog supposedly in severe pn was fighting like she was fighting for her life she was so scared. It was such a struggle I couldn't even make my mouth say stop. Her head flopped over my arm & her tongue was hanging out. I then realized how the heck did this happen, I came to learn how to express urine. My little girl was so loving, she was my pain support dog, got me thru several life threatening surgeries for blood clots. I take blood thinners for blood clots, aspirin to protect from having a heart attack & stroke & Tramadol for severe nerve pn/severe c-spine pn.. Since I experienced Dr. Khans calloused, incompetent, & what I believe money grubbing behavior, I have had anxiety, HA's, agitation, CP, heart pounding & elevated BP because what happened just plays over & over in my head. My little girl took care of me & I froze, did not protect her from a money grubbing, incompetent barbarian. I keep asking myself why he refused to teach me to express my little girl's bladder, how could he predict I would have to come back when he didn't even do an exam or try to express her urine in front of me? Knowing what I know about human medicine, there is never a way to know what will/won't work. I got a copy of my little girls records, there are many lies, ie: Dr Kahn said he talked to me about vet college in Davis-he didn't. I had a hard time getting the records because Dr. Kahn wanted to go over them, he wanted to email the records to my vet w/out having me sign a release form. The notes say the bladder was hard to express, Dr. told me he didn't express her bladder since she was being euthanized. Dr. states "owner want to know how to express bladder. Pet is unable to walk on hind legs per owner and her regular vet won't be back until Wednesday." he also said he offered more meds, he never offered any meds. Why would I agree to euthanasia if he offered me meds to take home until I could see my vet? There is more in his notes that leads me to believe when he reviewed his notes he also changed his notes. Look @ picture below, taken in Dr. Kahn's exam room, tell me which dog is in severe pain & needs to be euthanized. I have taken my cats there when they needed regular appointments for many years, as well as emergency care and they used to be good. I do expect to wait when you take them in for emergency care because there are other patients ahead of you, some more critical. I get it. So when I needed to take my cat in because she was not eating or drinking for the past few days, and her regular vet said to take her to an emergency vet, I called Mueller and was put on the "Virtual Waitlist." This was new to me, they had not had this when I had visited in the past and sounded like a great option since she was not critical, we could wait at home until they had time to see her that day. This is a lot less stressful for her and me. We were placed on the Virtual Waitlist at 11 am. At 5 pm I was sent a text that said they were ready for us and to come into the hospital. So I rushed down there and checked her in at 5:41 pm. We sat in the lobby waiting until 10:45 pm before we got into an exam room and saw a doctor. And then I was told that they could not help us and that they would see if there are other emergency vets in the area that could hospitalize my cat and provide an ultrasound the next day. I sat in the exam room for more than an hour before the Dr came back and let me know that she had found 1 place that we could possibly get into that night. I do appreciate her finding another ER hospital that was very helpful. She was doing the best she could. But I spent $178 and waited 6 hours to just go somewhere else. Which we did at midnight-I drove up to an ER Vet in Roseville. So my poor sick cat had to be in a carrier for 6 hours at Mueller and then the 45-minute drive and then 3 hours at the new ER vet. This was beyond stressful for her and me. From what I experienced, the "Virtual Waitlist" is not for their patients- it is for them to control how many people are coming in at one time and waiting in their lobby. You will still wait 5-8 hours to see a doctor after you arrive and check-in with reception. I wish they would communicate that fact more clearly. I don't think I will be using their services again after this nightmare.

Follow up: Appt: May 4th This was my first time at this VCA location. Gemma was the Vet Tech who took care of my baby, Penny. Penny has arthritis. Recently her back leg has caused her not to be able to stand for very long. She also developed east west feet. Which means the paws go outward. Gema was so gentle and compassionate to her. Penny was seen by Dr. Cavanaugh, one of the best Doctors I've ever had for my pets. I asked her a million questions because I was beside myself not knowing if I was going to have to put Penny down. My experience with previous doctors as they appear annoyed by all the questions and do not show any compassion. She was the complete opposite. She welcomed the questions. Thank God she prescribed me some medication, and we decided to see if it would help her with the pain. I felt like they were both my guardian angels. June 17th Penny woke up 2 nights ago and made a horrible sound as if she was in serious pain. First thing in the morning the next day, I called the office. I spoke to Julia, and Beloved through out the day. Both as sweet, kind and patient as they were when we came in previously. I also spoke to Alina and she was super nice. They both left Dr. Cavanaugh message ls regarding different medicines that we could try. Thank you so much Dr. Cavanaughfor following up with me after hours. That is rare. A typical Dr. who had a busy day and with other patients and all the updating charts etc would have called the next day. Beloved, you went above and beyond and thank you for allowing me to get my medications yesterday. The entire staff at this location are amazing individuals. FYI: Penny was able to get up to go to the bathroom and I almost passed out it! It was like a miracle right before my eyes.
