Hayley is very pleasant to talk to and have a laugh with whilst she professionally removes unwanted hair. Its only been an hour or so since having it done but i am already looking at my diary for when i can book in again (around 4-5 weeks time). Believe me any embarrassment has now gone and I'm assured that if I keep up with it then it will be easier, quicker and slightly less painful (Hayley didn't mind my swearing). I have been coming here for nearly 3 years now, A) because they are cheap (£3 for eyebrow…read morethreading, £2 for upper lip), B) they do a great job, and C) it's really quick. I used to go to a spa that did threading and they would give you the full spa experience. To be honest when I am having hair ripped out of my face I don't really care if there is music playing in the background or scented candles lit. Here there is no need for that terrible small talk that is involved in many beauty treatments. They ask what you want done, e.g. eyebrows, and no other input is needed. Sometimes you do need to wait for a while, probably the longest I have waited is 20 minutes, but that's usually on a Saturday afternoon. If you are looking up their hours online don't expect them to stick to them at the end of the day. I've been here at 6.40pm before when they say they close at 7pm and they sent me away but I won't dock them a star for that because fair enough that they are tired after a long day. Seriously, you will get better treatment here for the price than you will in central London for four times the price, but don't forget to bring cash!

Today, I was moved to a seat and ended up waiting 45 minutes just to have my eyebrows done. There were four staff members doing eyebrows at first, and then suddenly only two, even though there was clearly a long queue. No one seemed to care that I had been waiting so long, and there were no updates at all. I'm not usually someone who complains, as I know things can get busy, but this was ridiculous. Don't leave customers sitting for ages with no communication. One staff member was having long conversations with people, while another was busy arranging flowers--apparently that was more important than the waiting queue. What a joke!

They accept walk-ins and you can also book. They are open 7 days a week and close at 7pm in the evening weekdays. Great for post work visits for me and they are walking distance from Gants Hill Underground station or you can park outside and then grab a bagel from across the road after :) all in all fantastic. Tracey put me right at ease straight away, and made the full body massage and age smart facial treatment feel like it lasted a lot longer than 1hour 45 minutes!. As part of the massage, a hot stone was put on my back, while I had a foot and leg massage. Tracey then moved to my upper back, which I totally needed (with my stress levels!). Tracey really got to the stress knots in my muscles and this was my favourite part of the session. The Age Smart facial was also fab. I had a good consultation before and afterwards, where the therapist talked through my cleansing routine, noted concerns (I got to take home a copy of this) and also gave me advice and Dermalogica product samples to take home. I had my face steamed, cleaned, exfoliated, toned and moisturised, and afterwards my complexion genuinely looked miles better than it has in ages. I suffer from terrible upper back and neck tension, and I discovered alternating the Virginia Williams 1/2 hour massage with the deep tissue massage on a monthly basis reduced pain, helped me relax and gave me instant results. In addition, she was full of excellent tips for helping to reduce general stress and promote well being. I have also had the mini-facial, which was also incredible: Refreshing, cleansing and relaxing. Virginia Williams did a skin analysis of my face before recommending a course of Dermalogica treatments. I have become a devotee of this regime, and my skin has come on leaps and bounds!

Get to the back of the queue. She has no empathy, and discriminates against people with invisible disabilitities. My piercing got infected because she didn't change the bar to the correct size, put in one that was way too big, then she told me to find another piercer to change the bar, the other piercer put in the wrong size, had to spend more money paying another piercer to change it, then the piercing itself (twice), my cheek started to swallow the piercing and heal over it, waited 2 months for her to just sort it out, to the point where i now just want it removed. Which would've taken her 2 seconds, but as she doesn't care about her previous customers she treated me like trash. Anyone who has already waited an hour and half in a queue for the piercing, who has to come back due to an issue, should be given priority. If i was in the queue i would understand, and in sure everyone else would feel the same, as they may need to return too. But when you get an infection because of her aftercare she doesn't care, she's just rude. Don't come here if you want someone professional and wants to make sure that your piercing has healed correctly. I was told time and time again that her service was bad, and ignored it. Not again. Queues are ridiculously long and she only provides 3 chairs. There are 3 workers, but only one person who can actually deal with piercings, all she cares about is moving on to the next paying customer. Cheaper is not better. I literally went back and forth to her shop, waiting for it to open again, back and forth from the doctors for my infection. Multiple piercing shops trying to find someone who deals with cheeks and then had to have another piercer change the bar twice! And she didn't give a dam. Hopefully she learns from this and starts treating her loyal customers better. It has made such a huge difference to me and my self confidence . I think the difference is Gemma doesn't pluck the hairs like previous practitioners but they just slide out which means it is being done properly. You must persevere and go every week if possible .
