We've shopped here thrice in recent years including a few weeks ago and have always found very…read moreattractive, well-made woolen products. This year we purchased a pair of hand-made wool sweaters, both really handsome in two different styles. The prices were about $200 Canadian, which we don't believe to be overly expensive given their high quality and durability (sweaters we purchased previously have held up well and still look almost like new). The shop also carries a lot of knitting skeins, which do appear on the pricey side, but we're told that similar supplies simply aren't in big supply anywhere on the island. We've chatted with the owner and found her delightful and knowledgeable about the origins of the wool in the shop. They also carry a number of other items including Scottish/Irish kilts, hats, shawls, capes, mittens, slippers and blankets. The shop seems to us a wonderful showcase for local artisans and knitters, and we look forward to many more return visits and sweater purchases.

The gentleman in the kilt also showed me their tartan store hidden away next door and helped me learn a little more about my clan and Scottish heritage! It is a wonderful store and I would recommend it to anyone visiting PEI and Charlottetown.

I took my sewing machine there for repair...went over a month late rto pick it up, Paid over $100…read more for repair. And when I tried the machine, it was worse. I phoned and was told to send it back again. That was early May 2024. After many calls to see if it was ready yet, I asked her, "Who does your repairs? I was told she had no one to repair machines, and she was trying to repair them herself, but she has been way too busy. So I had my son pick up my sewing machine for me while I had Med appt across the street( May 2005 ). Over one year later..still not repaired. Noting all the new sewing machines there at Quilting Bee and More...at very high prices...I'm questioning who will fix any of these machines if they are in need of repair. I would be very careful purchasing a machibe at thia shop !

This was a great quilting shop - not too big, not too small. There were gorgeous examples of quilts and quilted wall-hangings, etc. hanging all around the the shop for inspiration. There was lots of fabric to choose from, whether off the bolt or precut into fat quarters, jelly rolls, etc. As well, there were many books, patterns and some neat accessories that I haven't necessarily seen in other quilting shops that I've visited in the Maritimes. For those looking for a deal, I found there were a number of fabrics on sale. The staff were all lovely and there was lots of parking. If you're a quilter visiting PEI and want to make a special memento, they even have Anne of Green Gables fabric for sale! Definitely a shop to check out!

I just happened to see this shop and stopped in while visiting Tatamagouche - great find!…read more The shop is in a gorgeous big building (looked like an old house) with a wrap around veranda. There are tables and chairs on the veranda so that you can sit out and knit or have a cup of tea while enjoying the breeze. While I was there a felting workshop being offered by a local artisan outside! Inside there were two big rooms full of yarn, patterns and cute little knitting accessories. (E.g. I got a cute small project bag to hold odds & ends.) At the back of one of the rooms is the cash and the counter to order tea. There is also a third room that had some tables and chairs as well as all of their needles and main knitting accessories. I think they might offer classes in that space too. The two ladies who were working while I was there were lovely and very helpful! They were happy to chat about some of the yarns that they were offering and asked if I had any specific needs. I was happy to see different local yarns available, including some from Give it a Whorl (Janine Guinan) from Truro! By the end of the day I had already recommended this place to two more crafters I ran into! This shop is definitely worth a visit! Drive up from Halifax and make a day of it!

Not only is this little shop a source of beautiful, quality yarn - it's also a great place to knit!…read more You can knit in the bright and breezy cafe, or out on the patio. Be sure to sign up for the workshops, too! The owners Beth and Vivian really foster the love of knitting and will warmly welcome you!
