Love the new, much larger location at 3805 SW 117th, just a few blocks from the previous SW Broadway store which is now closed. They took over the old TJ Maxx location. Since the store is new, of course it is bright, clean and well stocked. hope it stays this way! Because they now have so much more room, the produce section has expanded and has lots of gorgeous veggies and fruit. The health and vitami department is also huge and has so many choices in every category. Thus is not my regular grocery store, but I'm in Beaverton frequently for manicures, Trader Joe runs and Petco visits, so I stop here if Im in need of anything. Lots of parking, easy access to SW Canyon and friendly service, too! read more

They moved to a different spot which seems smaller. I did appreciate the motorized cart though almost every aisle was pretty cramped to get down due to carts filled with things in each aisle. It was a bit frustrating at times. I was trying to ask a person with an apron on where the restroom was and she barked at me that she was not on the floor right now. I was confused since genuinely, asking another human being where the bathroom is seems like a question you do not need to be on the clock for. Thankfully another person, who WAS on the clock, walked by and responded kindly that it was right around the corner. I think rude lady did not maybe hear my question since by the time I parked the cart, got the cane ready and was trying to walk to the restroom she was right there and I think had just come from the restroom. But she was now near aggressively in my face asking how she could help me. My turn to be rude and say I need you to kindly allow me to go into the restroom which is where I have been trying to get to. Thankfully the other folks throughout the store were super super nice and so very helpful. They even asked that I pull my car up so they could load up my groceries. And I love that they load them up into boxes - especially that they are smaller boxes because glass jars and such get heavy very fast and bags aide them to clang around a great deal. After chatting with one of the lovely folks that work there I also 'get' any rudeness from the gal I suspect really needed to restroom. But the other person thanked me for being a person that reminds her she likes her job. She said most people who shop there genuinely treat the people who work there with abuse. People will march up, not even great them, thrust their phone on their face with the item they are searching for. I was also doing shopping for others but am I the only person saying please and thank you? That earned me a person finding me an out of stock item for my customer. I was shopping for a vegan and I will say I found a ton of great looking stuff next time I need to go to a vegan thing - and I have such a thing in a few weeks! read more

I'm a regular shopper at Natural Grocers. They have a unique product mix. Disappointed today that I got an offer for a free 16.9 bottle of Olive Oil. Turns out there weren't any left on the shelf. Told the checker and she said, "you have to come in early to get these offers". It was about 10:00 AM. Had no idea it was a competition with the other customers. Natural Grocers consistently, predictably practices false advertising. Their ads say items are on sale, but the stores don't have the items in stock. From the beginning of the sale to the end, the sale items are not available. To compound Natural Grocers' deceptive advertising, the company doesn't honor their sale prices when the items are finally in stock after the sale is over. Natural Grocers has been misleading their customers for many years. They don't care. Management lacks the decency and integrity to ensure their sale items are in stock when they go on sale or offer rain checks. There are some great natural foods here for an affordable price, but the produce section is constantly disgusting. I see rotten products here constantly and I am sick of seeing mold on my produce from this location after it's only been out for a day or two. Do better with your produce! We like to come for Bulk herbal tea oatmeal and nuts but every time I also bought so vitamins from them. They have awesome selections but no trained staff to ask any questions. Fine. Thought it's great to try many with locals. However return policy has been very unwelcome (even before Covid outbreak). Not only receipt like most stores, but you also need to give them your driver license with in 30 days and only one item allowed to return. Keep in mind if you buy many vitamins/supplements in one transaction and they don't work with your guts you have to decide which "1" to go back. As always love locals but they always have weird policy. Push consumer back to hand money to online corporates. Not to mention big player like Amazon sells most vitamins at least 5-10 dollars cheaper per bottle. read more

This is my main grocery store. The prices are a lot cheaper than the competitors. Staff are great at helping you find what you need and will even order bulk food for you at the size you want. You can find any supplement that exists. The skincare section has a great range of products. I feel safe knowing anything I buy from here won't harm my body. read more

After visiting three popular and common natural grocery stores this one is my winner!!!! PRICES AWESOME! After looking at all the other things at other stores that I buy on a regular basis the quantity and price is just awesome. I keep saying awesome because I don't have another word for awesome. This will be my regular! Not only that but the produce even though seems limited it's stellar quality! They also have these natural power bites and natural organic nuts knew and obviously sealed in the back in the refrigerated section... It's not a bunch of odds and ends nobody wants it's a bunch of really neat stuff and every time I take something I go back for more! Their power bites are amazing! We shop here occasionally. You can find some surprisingly good selections and prices on their organic bulk packaged grains and spices. They have some organic spices, grains, baking ingredients that are difficult to find elsewhere. Some of their organic produce is well priced, especially if on a weekly sale. Most of their canned and packaged pantry items are overpriced. You have to know what you're buying. read more

I'm a bit skeptical about Natural Grocers but for now since they just opened will give them the benefit of a doubt. First thing to know: They are a bag-less grocer. Bring your own bags. Otherwise if all else fails they do have recycled boxes you can use. Kinda like costco style. Staff - helpful, friendly. Produce - local, fresh. There was not a huge selection like many grocers but they had just enough and were stocking it frequently. Pet items - they have em! Vegan, GF, they have all these things of course. Good amount to choose from too. If you're looking for vitamins and supplements, this is your place. I feel like it's very similar to the Whole Foods/New Seasons just on a smaller scale. They didn't have a deli that I saw, nor could I find cheese oddly enough. It had only been a week or so since it had opened and it looked like they were still in the process of layout and setting a few last minute things up/socking shelves. Prices are alright. There were some items that were on sale for their grand opening ($1 avocados was a steal). I also enjoyed they had pre-packaged bulk items like spices, seasonings, teas, etc. There wasn't a serve-yourself bulk area but this sufficed. Natural grocers has all your main needs and I can appreciate putting in this type of store where there is not one around for several miles. However, with the store being just up the street from a Fred Meyer and Trader Joes....and a few miles from a New Seasons I'm wondering how it's going to do. I honestly can't see myself shopping here often as the selection is not as great in comparison. Perhaps if I just wanted to pick up a couple things. It will be interesting to see how and if it changes in a couple months. read more

There's a lot to like about this place. If you're looking for supplements and so forth, they're a powerful option because there are like 4-5 aisles with numerous options. As a grocery, they are somewhat limited in that they don't have much of the mass-market stuff, but what they have is of consistently good quality and not as expensive as you might imagine. Shelves have been a bit thin lately, but that's true of all grocery stores. They are serious about pandemic protocols, and in my experience all the other customers as well as staff are courteous and respectful. It is a No Karen Zone and a No Maskhole Zone, and that's something I appreciate very much these days. Cashiers and stockers look like they are glad to be working there. It's not our go-to grocery store because we do like some of the mass-market stuff like Monster energy drinks and such, but we respect them. It's nice to go into a store these days where no one is an idiot. read more

Great products and fair prices, but service is another topic. It's pretty obvious (as a person of color) to know when you're being followed and watched in a store. In this case, I was being observed by a manager or supervisor named Josh on 9/13/2020 at 1:30pm. This happens to me quite often, and since wearing masks became a requirement to shop, it's been happening more frequently. However, you surely can't say that I look "suspicious" because I'm wearing a mask because everyone is wearing one. So, I wonder what else it could be. This makes me not want to spend my money here, and I'm sure that won't make a difference to this company financially, but it's better than shopping uncomfortably. read more

This is my new favorite stop for everything organic and all my favorite foods. They have great selection and the prices are right in line with other grocery stores. I found some prices to be even lower than my regular stops. They have more options of the same products that I purchase everywhere else. I think that the prices on the organic produce were more in line with some produce markets and that I appreciated. However, the square feet devoted to the produce was slight in comparison to all the packaged goods that apparently this healthy grocer sells. It amazed me that there were more boxed, bagged and produced items in this store than there are in a 'regular' grocery store. I have no idea what the prices on those packaged items are as I try not to buy things that have been processed. Staff was pleasant, they had free organic pumpkins when I last went in mid October which was nice. Will I be back anytime? Not in a big hurry, but I might check it out again and see if they figure out their niche in the competitive 'natural' grocery wars that are going on around here. read more

This was our first visit to this store. I found it hard to navigate and find the things I was looking for. If I was huge into supplements, this would be the place to go. The fruit and vegetable section was small, but had quite a few offerings, and at a decent price. Some unique items as well, so that was nice. I wouldn't buy meat at this place, it seemed an after thought and quite expensive. The amount of gluten free products was quite impressive, and they even have special shelf markers to make it easy to find. Dairy and bulk foods were also a nice touch. The staff was SUPER friendly... Being a Colorado native, it was nice to see a 'small' place that I shopped at 20 years ago, expanded to a chain. read more

But it makes shopping a pleasure as you aren't fighting through a bunch of people. 5) They have great events that are free to all; recently they had their anniversary party w/ sundaes and fun events for example. 6) They have a large parking lot that you can always find a good parking spot in. 7) The store is kept very clean, even their restrooms. 8) Perhaps an unusual benefit to some, but they don't have alcohol for purchase in their store. So no beer, wine, or hard liquor. They do carry kombucha which has a trace amount of alcohol. I personally find that not having alcoholic products is great for recovering alcoholics, folks that just don't like alcohol, or those of a religious affiliation that avoid alcoholic beverages. The only potential downsides I could see would be there's poor lighting in their parking lot at night, their open/close hours are very atypical, they don't sell alcoholic beverages, they don't have paper/plastic bags available (bring your own or they have boxes you can use), and there's only 1 person on the register at a time so checkout can be slow until they call a backup person. I don't mind any of those things personally as I find the quality of their products to be as high or higher than surrounding stores for a much more affordable price. read more

I was harassed here by another customer- at the cash register and then after defending myself, the *Cashier* defended the harasser. So, not only was I harassed and made to feel unsafe in my own skin by this man while two other men watched- but I was also then told by an EMPLOYEE that it's ok because the man had been drinking that day. It's Not ok to sexually harass people, and then an employee who watched it happen further what you just went through. He (the harasser) only stopped when my best friend who is a man, walked up next to me. So he can sexually harass me when I'm ALONE but not when another man stands beside me? What would have happened if I had been alone? What would have happened if I had walked out alone to the parking lot, at 8:40pm. I'm a small woman. He is a fully grown " 40 year old man" , which I only know his age because he tried to excuse his behavior with claiming he's a 40 year old man and I'm just a kid. Telling me, "I was just kidding you're just a kid I'm a 40 year old man" and I told him his age doesn't have anything to do with harassing me. I will never shop here again now that I know not only would an employee degrade me by defending a harasser but also be sexually harassed. ARE THESE THE KIND OF STANDARDS NATURAL GROCERS ABIDE BY? I'm so happy I stopped in to meet the new kid in town! Natural Grocers is fantastic in so many ways. They have a huge vitamin, supplement, personal care, and bulk nuts & grains inventory. Most items I saw were anywhere from $1 to $3 cheaper than the other local natural foods stores. BONUS! They only have a tiny fresh food section; their focus is obviously on nutrition and staples. I didn't fully check out their cold section, but at a glance saw cheeses and meats in refrigerated cases. I'd expect you'd find savings there too. They also have a great demonstration room and offer classes in nutritional health. You can check out their website to see what's offered. Big, wide aisles, clean, friendly help... As a grown-ass man that doesn't like to shop, this is my favorite grocery store. I appreciate that they don't inundate you with selection. If you really feel like you need to chose between 4 different brands of the same bean, this place might not be for you. They typically have every thing I need in one stop, although the prices can be more expensive than say Winco, they are lower in many regards for exact same brand products as WF, NS, MoC. I commented in my other review of Market of Choice there's a specific brand of jelly I get here that's HFCS-free and it's nearly a whole dollar cheaper. The place has an open airy feel and very well lit and very clean. The staff is always super nice and chatty. In terms of product selection, it's fairly small, as most of the floor space is dedicated to the vitamins and supplements with a pet section for food and supplies, as well as a dry goods area with some large supply grains and packaged dry goods. This leaves a fairly small grocery section compared to the competitors, which I actually appreciate in a shopping experience from a man's perspective. I pretty much know off the bat that there's entire areas of the store I can avoid entirely, where the wife has to go up and down every isle. Theirs a good sized natural cosmetics section which I know nothing about aside that it's a large natural cosmetics section. They have a big glass room where apparently they do classes or gatherings, but I've never seen one in session while I've been there. Produce is pretty reasonably priced, some organic produce that's maybe slightly more expensive than what I'm used to paying for other traditionally grown or non-organic produce. The only difference is that it's all of higher than standard quality. You won't find hidden bruised fruit or over-ripe produce sitting out. They don't have a hot plate section, but they do have fresh sandwiches and other packaged foodstuffs out, like sandwiches which are delivered daily and other items like that if you need something to eat right then, while they don't have a place to eat inside. Grab a ginger and lemon Townshend kombucha and a vegan chicken salad sandwich, they're in the same section. Both myself and my toddler enjoy each, even though we don't know what the hell vegan chicken salad is. They don't have bags, like Costco, so bring your own. Or if you forget, like at Costco, they have boxes from their stash you can burrow up front. The cashier will give your toddler a sticker and your toddler will eat it. read more

To answer the question in Bob M.'s review -- no, Bob, you are NOT the only one that thinks this market is redundant and overpriced. For groceries, I also believe you could do better at Trader Joe's (within eye shot of Natural Grocers) or New Seasons. However, this is a great location for vitamins, supplements and health and beauty stuff. I think the selection here is better than New Seasons and is more on par with Whole Foods. I also like that rather than providing bags, you either 1) bring your own or 2) grab a box out of the bins at the front (just near the checkstands) so you are at least re-using. In a nutshell though, if I'm in the area and in need of produce, breads, really any groceries and especially pre-made/grab-and-go type items -- Trader Joes has far more to offer here in selection, freshness, and price. Natural Grocers would do well to up their game with more local offerings or something else to set them apart from the plentiful competition in the area, otherwise they are coming in around 3rd place as a natural grocery store. read more

A wonderful, refreshing change from the standard grocery store! Wife and I are vegan, so this place is especially awesome for us! For us, this is like a much cheaper, less pretentious New Seasons! The selection is much smaller, but it makes up for that with a much more health food tailored selection! Unlike most other grocers, they actually put health foods on sale! The produce is awesome!! All of it is organic and the prices are actually very competitive with the likes of New Seasons/WF! The vitamin/supplement section is also awesome! We are actually able to find a lot of vegan options there, that we'd otherwise have to order online. I hope with time, more people will discover this gem! read more

This is a great place with very reasonable prices. The gluten free selection is the best in all of West Portland. I'd rather go here than Trader Joe's or New Seasons just to give them my business, as they offer a variety of items not found elsewhere, and at reasonable prices. Natural Grocers is a chain based out of Colorado. They have been expanding into the Northwest of which there is always room for more stores like this. I come visit family in the area and was looking forward to the opening of this store, so I can check out all the goodies in side. It's very nicely set up where there's plenty of space in the aisles. No more having to ask someone else to move their cart so you can pass them by like you would get in an ordinary store. The store is easy to find right off SW Broadway and Lombard. You can't really miss it. The store name is pretty big on the front side of the building. There's plenty of spaces to park. It reminds a little bit of a Whole Foods and if you're from the Federal Way/Tacoma Washington area, a little bit like Marlene's Market. Plenty of healthy foods, organic or healthy skin care products, supplements etc. Prices might be higher on some items but they have lower prices in comparison to other stores of it's kind. Don't let the name scare you away. Go in and check it out. You might be pleasantly surprised. It's clean and bright inside and the staff are quite friendly. read more

Some of the things here are grossly over priced other things are like finding long lost treasure!!! they have a huge selection other than just fresh veggies. I walked around just to get a feel of what they had.... wow...just wow. they have a section of sunblocks that you can test out on your arm BEFORE you buy. Being a redhead allergic to the sun I am always on the hunt for new sunblocks since my skin gets used to one and then starts to reject it. I found several there that meshed well with my skin. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable about their products. As I was here just after opening I did not hold it against them when they were a little foggy on where something might be located.... that is to be expected when the store just opens. This is not someplace I would go to get coffee.... for I only saw 2 different types....that was it choice A or choice B. I was happy to see that they store their nuts and seeds in a freezer since they tend to go rancid quickly if they are not. so please check this place out, be careful of what you buy....some things like I said over priced some things under priced. oh and bring a bag....... they have no bags pack up your purchase. BRING A BAG PEOPLE REALLY........ 2 1/2. Vitamins up the wazoo here. The store seems very sparse upon entering, with really wide aisles and bright fluorescent lighting. The veg/fruit is one corner of the store, very small cheese section (seemed to only have a few brands) and small meat section. Nice wall of frozen items along the back. They also have bulk items and prepackaged bulk items (nuts, grains) as well. The supplement section is fairly extensive. I think this is a nice alternative to TJ and New Seasons, but you won't find as good of a selection (or specialty products like TJ) here. I go out of my way to hit this grocery store! The prices are awesome, best prices in town for kombucha, Hail merry treats, Jacksons honest chips, paleo snacks, supplements and badger sunscreen! The sale prices at whole foods are usually still higher than natural grocers prices! Bring your own bags because there are no bags but who cares with these deals. You will be making trips out here to save $50 a trip. They also have great deals on natural cleaning supplies, feminine products and supplements. I highly suggest hitting this place up and taking the time to walk down all of the isles. After reading a cooking magazine I decided to try a Mary's turkey after the rave reviews. That brought me here at thanksgiving time. Never been and it's a very interesting to just look around at. It's definitely catered to the all natural crowd and unique. Tried a couple products and everything is overpriced, bland, and ehhhhh tasting. Grabbed an all natural and grass fed beef pepperoni stick at cashier because I was starving and it was inedible. GROSS. I guess I'm a processed and preservatives kinda guy. By the way Mary's Turkey was one of the worst turkeys I've ever had. Tough and bland. Stick to a young butterball! Definitely will not be back. read more

I was very excited when I heard that Natural Grocers was going to open in Beaverton. I am a produce snob, and was very impressed with both the price and quality. Not to mention that all the produce organic! My wife is gluten intolerant so this a haven for her. I will be spending a lot less time at New Seasons! I really appreciate the no bag policy they have.
