It's nice this organic store is close by and has some hard to find items. The only complaint is that they don't train the cashiers to take the next person in line. Many times I will be the next person to be checked out and they take the last person standing in line of 5 or 6 people. I use to cashier in Highschool and this absolutely irks me! I think it's just a fair consideration. Especially when you have arthritis or a hidden disability holding a heavy bag does cause discomfort. read more

This was only my second or third time at Natural Grocers and I was totally excited to come 1. I'm going to my Friendsgiving tomorrow and my 2 BFFs pretty much only shop here 2. They have so many cool items I do not normally see. 3. Unexpected Bonus - I was hit on by a very kind man but sorry I'm taken ‍ 4. It's COVID 24/7 and it's the most adventurous place that was open They did not disappoint! Everything is so organized and clean and not where I think it should be so I have to look at everything to find what I want. Of course I picked up a few items not on my shopping list but that's to be expected- their cheese selection was the most fun for me I WANT SAMPLES... but of course not ... COVID boo So why not 5 stars? Well, they lack basic customer service or basic customer awareness - maybe it's not a thing in the natural world or maybe I looked like I knew what I was looking at ‍ not one word was spoke to me but their was several staff milling around arranging and cleaning... last hope was the cashier not a word from him either. Mid-January 2025 updated review: We are happier with Natural Grocers in 2025 than in 2023. We now spend more time in the store looking for specials and reading labels. As a result, we spend more locally and are happier with the things we buy. Very pleased Las Cruces NG now sells high quality reusable and insulated bags. (Attractive, strong, good price, as good as Trader Joes in Albuquerque.) Fewer boxes to recycle. The organic produce, GF items and supplements remain special. The selection of items for pets is acceptable for our medium dogs. The store-branded and hard-to-find items keep getting better. (Banzos chickpea pasta is great GF!) Especially love the brioche, eggs, salsa, and local foods. Most important, customer service is better. The staff are pleasant and we get help packing groceries. Our bags are not too heavy to lift and carry. We can get help to the car. To us also important: Several stores push customers toward self-checkout. But NG does not pressure us to become cashiers and rapid baggers, stressful roles better done by a paid workforce. Also, at NG we have NOT been surprised to get DIFFERENT prices at the register than displayed on the shelves. We would love another NG closer to downtown and the historic districts where many people appreciate quality in everything from goods and services to housing. read more

Update: Having recently experienced medication induced (temporary) celiac disease, and not really a fan of gluten free products I'd had in the past, I found that Natural Grocers has an excellent selection of Amy's brand GF foods, as well as several other brands. In fact, NG had the best selection of GF foods in town. So not having visited this location in years, I put my reservations aside and indulged in all that they have to offer. read more

Super helpful staff - helped me to find some probiotics and relaxation herbs. They had a great variety of liquid and refrigerated probiotics. They had lots of different products to choose from so you could find what might work best for you and the staff we knowledgeable about the products and could help you understand the differences and pros/cons. This grocery store is OK. Promotions on some items you get a discount on trusted brands. The staff was not very helpful when it came to my customer account they call "N-Power"where you can get savings on in store purchases. So I so far got no credit through N-power although I had an N-power account with Natural grocers, the staff could do nothing since my account was registered in an old telephone number, not my current number. Then all I could do was ask a store representative on the phone later how I might "fix"my N-power account to my current number and also get credit for my $105 purchase that day, hopefully. I had to ask twice, finally getting a company phone number where I just got a recording who said she would return my call within five business days. Still waiting for the return call. read more

Love Natural Grocers because it's an independent store that carries a lot of organic groceries. Lot of the food are also refrigerated, so patrons know they are getting the natural ingredients. Highly recommend this supermarket. read more

Had a terrible experience of bait and switch today. I asked for help finding an item and the clerk was very polite and showed me to the item which happened to be on sale. When I got to the register I was informed that the sale was only for "members". I had to pay 8 times the sale price because I was not a member. I WILL NOT RETURN TO NATURAL GROCERS and wanted to warn potential customers of this very sneaky way to gouge customers. BUYER BEWARE!!! read more

My wife and I were in the area for a couple months for work and as soon as I heard about this place I went to check it out and fell in love instantly. Produce section is amazing with mostly if not all organic options. Found the type of bread and herbs we prefer all at the same time. Truly a one stop shop. Happy Happy Joy Joy!!!! I can't tell you how happy I am to have this store nearby! It's like walking into a Trader Joe's...where everyone is Happy! Not only does it have a great selection of Vegetarian options, they have options I haven't seen before like Field Roast Sausages & Burgers. SO GOOD! I ALWAYS have these on hand now! They taste better than any Veg option I've had. They have an amazing Vitamin supply and offer so many non-gelatin options! No more mail order Vitamins for me! Nuts and Trailmix galore kept in refrigerators. All types of nut milks. Just about every dry herb in bulk that you can think of. Coconut Chocolate Chip Gelato! WHAT?! YUM! Vegan ice cream options. And if they are out of something, they are only too happy to run in back and see if they have it in stock. The only downfall for me is that I expected more organic produce and what they do have doesn't last very long. :( I also love that they care about the meats they carry. If you follow the "Step Scale" they carry Step 4 Beef and organic free range Mary's chicken (look them up..I did!). They really care about how the animals were treated prior to ending up on their shelves and everything on their shelves bears a humanely treated label. Bring your own bags or use a box they have for you to fill. So any review is going to be colored by the writer, and in this case that is not a good thing for Natural Grocers. I enjoy gourmet food, but have no food allergies or ethical qualms about eating animals. What this means, in the end, is that Natural Grocers is not meant for a consumer such as myself. While they do have a number of gourmet options, most of what I saw in the aisles was meant for folks with dietary restrictions, and I left the store feeling bad for how much those folks are forced to pay for food. All in all, I did not find many items that I would purchase, and none that I would purchase on a regular basis; therefore, I cannot suggest this store. Although, I imagine if you have restrictions in what you can eat, Natural Grocers could be a lot more interesting. read more

We just moved here from Oregon and I was truly concerned if I could find a grocery store that dealt in health food like I was use to. After having employees at Mountain View Market scold my 23 month old daughter for picking things up, which we put back exactly where things belonged before the scolding, we came here. Very relieved to be welcomed by wonderful employees. The lady in the vitamin aisle was extremely helpful and very nice. Rude cashier. Produce variety is not great--for instance, the sweet potatoes are tasteless--yet they have only one kind. Bought 3 cantaloupe and all were rock hard and tasteless. Expensive sliced turkey--goes bad and fast! Cheese is EXTREMELY expensive and there is no variety. Coffee, however, is good, much better than other stores here in LC. Inconsistent: one day you can find an item you like; next time you go, they don't have it. Inconsistency is Las Cruces' biggest problem. read more

This review is not for the whole store as I shop daily there and mostly happy. The one star is for their uncured corned beef. I bought it for St Patrick's day and it was horrible! Theysaid cook it for 4 hrs. And at 7 hrs it was like shoe leather and tasteless. Healthy is one thing but I only cook corned beef once a year. Couldn't it be good????? I love this store and do glad it moved into town. The reason I love it is because they only purchase and supply items that have met their strict standards. Go to there webpage to see how much care they give to selecting what they sell--like dairy products from pastured cows to humanely raised animal products to all organic produce. Love this store! They have great customer service. When I asked where an item was, instead of being told an aisle number, I was actually escorted to the location by the associate. They also offer a wide selection of products, and they seem to have better sales and more inexpensive prices when compared with Mountainview Market and Toucan. read more

We were so happy to find that this store had chestnuts, which seem impossible to find in Las Cruces. We bought only half a pound as they were $10/lb (which I think is outrageous to start with), but the big disappointment was that they were all completely dry. This was obvious already when I was preparing/cutting them. I wanted to remain optimistic until they were roasted and cooked (I split the small amount into two sets as I wanted my wife to try them both ways), but there was not one that was digestible. As for service, the manager was very kind and eager to help us find the chestnuts (though now it makes me think that he was glad he was getting rid of them for such a good price), while the cashier was rude and arrogant. read more
