On Sunday I revisited the same Albertsons store and checked out through a checkout counter that had a person working it. I asked about my bad experience on Friday and was taken very seriously with great attention and understanding. I asked if there were official times the checkout counters were not open and only the self checkout was available so elderly people could avoid shopping. I was told "Not really" but I could always go to the main desk and request someone to assist me with checkout. Because it's the beginning of the school year, traffic patterns are changing and occasionally they get short staffed. I felt very reassured that a staff member working there truly cared about what had happened to me, was willing to apologize and could suggest a work around for next time. I would revise my rating of the store upward based on today's encounter. It was nice to be seen as a human being and a familiar customer and not just a cog in the money machine that wouldn't fit. read more

Just went to Albertsons in Las Cruces - on the corner of Lohman. I did not have a nice experience and will not be back. The checker was rude and not helpful at all. As stated in another review, you have to have your phone in hand while shopping in order to get the digital coupons. I don't know how older people do it. I know its my responsibility to learn how to do this but when I've asked for help, I was told they couldn't help me and that to go to customer service. Today, I stated to the checker I was not sure how to put the digital coupons in the app. Reading the app upside down on my phone, the checker started to click on an item for me. I started to turn my phone around so he could see better and he said - NOPE! I was very embarrassed. During the week, the checkers are much more nicer. The ones on the weekend are usually very rude - talking to their colleagues, no thank you etc. read more

While the prices are high in comparison to Walmart they always have amazing deals on the app so make sure you get an account! Staff: 5 What makes this a 5 star Albertsons is that the staff are always helpful. For example, one time a lady was looking for envy apples for her husband and when she asked the staff they went to the back to pull out a box just for her. They've also done the same for me when I was looking for an item that wasn't in the aisles, The only down side is that the lines get long on Fridays due to the Friday specials. Usually a great place to shop for groceries. Sometimes they are out of sale items if not there early or the items don't make it on the truck. But the product makes it there eventually, usually. Just call and hope that someone will look for what you want to purchase. read more

The selection and service is second to none. Everyone is super friendly and easy to have a conversation with. Clay's smile will melt any ladies Heart. Clay goes out of his way to help any customer. He'll grab a cart for you when he sees you need one. The manager Tim is full of smiles as well as supporting his whole team. I enjoy when the meat department cut my steaks really Thick. Floral arrangements are absolutely gorgeous and the plants enjoy TLC from the employees. The bakery deliverers tasty dinner rolls and colorful delicious desserts. The weekly sales on the liquor department makes them comparable to Walmart. My favorite day to shop are the first Wednesday of the month for our veterans discount and everyone loves FIVE dollar Fridays...! Las Cruces community Rocks read more

I'm just reviewing on service and service alone because I believe just about every grocery store carries the same products just in different brands. This Albertsons gets 1 star because a cashier on register 4 named Rachel seemed to hate her job and displayed that to us in our experience. As my S/O and I approached the register I had a question regarding alcohol so I politely asked my question to which I was rudely and abruptly answered. I didn't think much of it as I was having a great day getting chores done so I was going to ask why the rules were framed that way but before I could finish the "why" she quickly cut me off again with the same answer. I then looked to my S/O to discuss the peculiarity in the rule when she once again gave us the same answer! Unprompted and not even in our conversation! Did I mention she didn't smile once when we got up there? I looked at her after she had cut me off and proceeded to state she wasn't fit for customer service, quickly checked out & went home. In my years of customer service I've never once acted like that and I would be so embarrassed if I did. This is my usual to go spot. This store is clean, the aisles are wide and the produce seem good. I tend to grab the salads and a chicken for lunch when I'm running around. The staff has always been nice and helpful and generally there hadn't been crazy lines. read more

Please open more registers! Trying to stay 6 feet apart puts those waiting all the way into aisles where others ate trying to shop.

They have good weekly sales but their every day prices are quite high. Of course I just moved here from Houston Texas, so grocery prices here in New Mexico seem higher to me in general. But even accounting for that I think Albertson's is towards the top as far as cost. But if you use their coupons and sign up for the loyalty card or download the app you can get some real steals. For example this week they had detergent for $.64 and last week they had refrigerated Coffee creamer also for $.64. And at least with the app, you will be offered freebies on a regular basis. I have gotten free ice cream and free sausage in the last couple of weeks. The lines tend to be crowded because they don't open enough registers for any given time but so far All the cashiers I've had have been polite and friendly. read more

Other than Walmart, this grocery chain is the only game in town. Their prices are high and the quality of the merchandise they sell is subpar. You need to pay attention to your receipt as the advertised sales price is frequently not updated in their database. Today I found out that they are no longer carrying one of my favorite items. We ordered a cake around 6 pm Monday night asked the girl at the counter for a 10 " cake and she mentioned there was only an 8" all while I am looking at a sign that said a 10". She didn't say anything. I continued to order the cake asked for red white colors for decoration which should have been flowers on top of the cake and I received it plain. I asked for fresh strawberries and glaze in the middle of the cake and again received the cake with just strawberries no glaze. I called Albertsons talked to one of the front managers he said the bakery was closed but he would leave a note for the bakery manager to call me the next day. I have not received a phone call from the bakery manager. I am very upset that out of everything the only thing right that was applied to the cake was the colors. We couldn't even get the word MoM written on the cake. Poor service and I will not order another cake from this Albertsons. read more

Bought and paid for 2 T-Bone steaks with my groceries. Got home and had 1 steak. Called and talked to manager who said come back in and we will give you a refund or I guess another steak. Live 20 miles from store not driving back now. Not sure how well sharing a t-bone with my husband is going to go over for dinner but that's what we got. Not the first time this has happened. Not going back to this store again. Since remodel prices are up, bakery service and skill is sub-par, canned goods are dented and about the only thing you can find on the shelves is the Signature brand. read more

My Original Review gave this Albertson's 2-Stars..since my first few visits, the store has been updated, upgraded and is SO much nicer! But the employees in the bakery, at least the one I encountered, need work. I went in on the morning of 8/22 to pick up a Tiramisu cake for a birthday. The youngish woman saw me walking towards the case and went off to the left away from the counter but where she was still visible..just standing and talking to a co-worker. I stood and stood and stood. She would glance over but kept up her conversation. So I stood..I waited. She FINALLY blessed me with her almighty presence..no smile. In fact, she looked like she wanted to hurt me for interrupting her conversation by wanting something from the bakery. Oh wait! It's YOUR JOB to provide this service to store Customers..isn't it? The Tuxedo Cake & Tiramisu looked like they were flip-flopped in the case and I told her I would like the Tiramisu and she cut me off and I swear..she looked like she wanted to cut me! Why the attitude? Sheesh! It's cake! Anyway, Ms. "Chip on my Shoulder" took the cake I selected and walked off..I was a little concerned as to what was happening to it..but then she turned, plopped it out the counter and in a monotone voice "is that all?". No "thank you", no "enjoy your cake!"..NOTHING! She may as well have grunted at me..lol! I hope that the Manager sees this and uses this as a training opportunity to let staff know that it's okay to smile..it's okay to enjoy your Customers..what's NOT okay is to treat them like crap and like they are putting you out for asking you to do your job! If I was being difficult or rude, I would ALMOST understand her crappy attitude. But I was smiling and happy upon arrival and ya know..I'm not going to let someone with a bad attitude ruin my day! But clearly, this gal needs an attitude adjustment if she's going to work with people. read more

Albertson's carries a good deal of groceries but the prices are high compared to the rest of the supermarkets in Las Cruces. Customer service is terrible! For example, once I order a specific piece of Salmon from their fresh fish display, and the guy told me "fish is fish" - in other words I will give you another one. At a different time, one of the cashiers was loudly talking to another crew member using inappropriate language. I have two more experiences like these. It is the closest supermarket to my home, and still I only shop there for one or two products that I can't find anywhere else. read more

I normally love this Albertsons, however I'm usually there in the afternoon or evening. Today I stopped on my way back from Phoenix at 6am, when they opened, to redeem 2 free donut or bagel monopoly coupons and a 2 free monopoly tickets coupon. I had to wait over 5 minutes for the only cashier to stop reading her newspaper at customer service to come check me out. Then she refused to accept the coupons, THEIR OWN COUPONS!, stating that the cinnamon rolls (the only ones they had) are not donuts, but pastries. Seriously?! Donuts ARE pastries! And she didn't honor the 2 free monopoly tickets one either. Perhaps she should spend more time educating herself, in matters pertaining to her job, instead of reading the newspaper when she's supposed to be working. I went elsewhere. Just what I wanted to do after making a round trip to Phoenix in one day. read more

Went there this morning at 930 AM 1/4/17-all the baked goods were day old or older except the rye bread. I was looking for bolilos and checked the items twice over 30 minutes, even looked back in the bakery area-No bolilos or other breads on the cooling racks: everything was 1-2 days old. Managers were present, checking out the area so I guess this is their decision to sell day old breads as new(you can see it on the labels). BIG disappointment! Albertson's used to be good. I think Albertsons in Las Cruces sucks. They have little competition aside from Walmart (which also sucks) and it shows in their selections and pricing. Drive 40 miles south to El Paso and Albertsons magically improves. I can't wait for the new Pros Ranch market to open. 1. This is probably the LAST Albertson's that does not have the saving card. 2. This store is in MUCH need of a remodel to bring it to at least the early 2000s. 3. On the last several occasions I have been there, the store has been dirty, cashiers were slower than molasses, 3 cashiers with 6-8 people in each line. On my most recent trip I placed an order for 36 cupcakes for my sister's bridal shower. I placed the order Friday morning... My order was simple 18 white cupcakes, 18 chocolate cupcakes, all the same design on top, all whipped frosting. On Sunday, the day of the shower, I received 2 phone calls. The first was at 9am. The female caller was looking at my order form and was asking questions about the design on top, the color teal, and something about rings as the decorations. I told her that the color wasn't teal and there were no ring decorations. She was VERY RUDE! I offered to come down to the store so I could show her the picture in the book. She stated that wasn't necessary, but I needed to explain what I wanted... I did. Again, my order was very simple... 36 cupcakes, 1/2 white cake, 1/2 chocolate cake, whipped white frosting with flowers on top. The color of the flowers were, pastel similar pink, purple and white with green leaves, (We found this design in the cake book at the bakery. Maggie, who took our order, checked with her manager to make sure we could do 1/2 and 1/2, and if they had someone who could do the rose like flowers). Second call of the day came at 11:30a, 2 1/2 hours after the first call, where the female caller and I went over the order on the phone including the 1/2 white and 1/2 chocolate cake. The female caller stated they did not have ANY white cake mix and asked if all the cupcakes could be chocolate? I was absolutely flabbergasted at this point. We were scheduled to pick up the cupcakes at 12pm and they were just now calling to say they did not have white cake mix?? They are in a grocery store, she could not have gone to the baking aisle and grabbed 2 boxes or white cake mix?? I let the caller know that all chocolate cupcakes was not what I ordered Friday, was not what I had said at 9a that morning, and did she give any indication the order couldn't be completely to our satisfaction... Okay, here's where I really got mad! I went in to pick up the cupcakes at 1:30p. In speaking with Maggie, who had taken my order Friday, I was informed that the female caller had approached Maggie after the 11:30a call and bit her (Maggie's) head off, stating the order wasn't taken correctly, and that the female caller had to call me twice for instructions and why is she taking orders they can't fill, etc... I felt awful for Maggie, who had done her job! She took our order, spoke with her manager about the details to ensure they could fulfill the order, and wrote out the specifics on the order form. The female caller was the one who did not do her job, plus she was rude!! She did not pull the bakery cake book first before calling me, she did not ensure they had the proper items i.e. white cake mix to fill my order, and she did not start my order until the absurdly time of 3 hours prior to pick up. read more
