Emily is a godsend! I am visiting from out of town. I was researching a place because my shoulders were screaming for a massage. I came across this place and read multiple reviews about Emily. Y'all... she utilizes that hour amazingly. She worked a good amount of time on my shoulders yet she got to my arms, legs, feet, scalp, all of it. The hot stone was a nice added touch as well! She also gave me water at the end which was nice after an hour long massage. Note: They don't take Amex. Also, you pay up front first. This place is so close by, and the prices are very reasonable, I had to check it out! Got the 60 minute Deep Tissue Massage and 30 Minute foot massage, and I loved every minute. This is the first massage joint I've been to that can actually press down hard enough to get the ache out of my tired joints and muscles. Every elbow and squeeze and stretch I could feel my body was deeply craving. The music was pleasant, and I enjoyed that the oil was unscented, so I don't smell like tea tree all day. The massage I received left me very unhappy. The massage felt rushed. The movements from the masseuse was too quick and left me feeling itchy and irritated rather than relaxed like I was hoping for. To start, the masseuse didn't ask what kind of massage I wanted and just started doing whatever she wanted. The pressure was good for me (medium pressure). Though, the has zero skill. She used the same 3-4 movements throughout the hour massage. It felt more like poking and prodding instead of a smooth relaxing massage. Another aspect of the massage that I didn't like is that she didn't use oil until 20 minutes into the massage. She was massaging through the blanket for too long, where I was questioning whether she was going to use oil at all. Normal massages that do this for 2-3 minutes at most to relax you first and start the massage with oil. This 20 minutes felt like a waste of the massage. It wasn't relaxing at all. She left the room 2 times to attend to other customers coming in the front door or to answer a call. She did not make up the time for her leaving the room. I will say, the hot stones were nice but it only lasted 2 minutes at most which was disappointing since it was the only good part of the massage. The masseuse kept chatting with the other masseuse, whispering and a few times at regular volume throughout the entire massage. Also to note, you need to pay upfront for your massage. From the outside, it doesn't seem like much. However, once you go in, totally different story. Really nice and quaint. I was in a couples room with a friend. It was lit perfectly and had nice soft music. The masseuse was fantastic! She used just the right amount of pressure and checked in a few times to check how it was. Came here on the day I was leaving North Charleston, as I'd passed by a couple of times when visiting the outlets. I've received plenty of foot reflexology massages before, so I figured it would be a nice way to close out my long weekend of traveling. Upon entering the spa, it appeared to be empty of customers and there was a lady at the front desk. She greeted me and asked how she could help (she never put her phone down and only looked up to answer me, but she was pleasant). I informed her that I wanted to receive a foot reflexology massage, she immediately informed me that it would be $55. I corrected her and pointed out that a 30 minute foot massage should only be $40. She agreed and told me that it would be $40. In most cases, you pay AFTER you've received the services. Nope, she insisted I pay upfront. Only after I paid and was taken back to a couples room was I informed that the massage therapist would be 5 minutes. I waited in that room for 15 minutes before the therapist showed up (star #1). I had already made up in my mind that wasn't going to receive less than 30 minutes, so I wasn't too worried. The therapist finally arrived and was pleasant. I received an 'OK' massage but nothing over the top. Here's the part that gets me... Once I was prepared to leave, the therapist greeted me at the front desk with a small bottle of water. The FIRST and ONLY thing he said was "Tip". Had I not paid already, I would have left him something. I guess he was reading my mind, as he searched for my receipt and handed it to me, instructing me to change the tip line. Not only does that not make me want to leave a tip, but that also allows me to believe that a tip is somehow required for service... regardless if the therapist is prompt or not (star #2). The establishment is clean, the zen music is relaxing and the prices are reasonable for the area. However, I'm good with not trying them out again. But go visit and see for yourself, your trip can be very much different than mine. read more

I booked a Couples Massage for our Anniversary and I have mixed feelings with our experience. I like a deep tissue and my wife likes Swedish. Those two terms were not in the vocabulary. Hard or soft were what was offered. My hard massage seemed to be more of a therapeutic sports massage than I was expecting. My wife asking for soft still got one more firm than her liking. But our biggest displeasure was the two masseuses carrying on a conversation between themselves, not my idea of relaxing couples time. Plus, we started around 15 minutes late with masseuses starting at different times. If you need to get the kinks out it a great place but if looking more of a spa environment it's not for you. read more

I was able to book same day- so that is why I would give a few stars. When I got there they brought me back to a room, but didn't say anything, just left me there- not "hey take your clothes off, and face down" nothing. The lady from the front desk walked back in, pointed and my stomach and said "you are pregnant, I ask or is that regular?" ...I said I am not and she apologized for thinking so...That put me in a pretty uncomfortable mood. I waited until the masseuse came in to ask if I can undress and how to lay, and she waited outside with the door cracked until I did so... She never asked what pressure I wanted, I attempted to tell her light but I don't think she heard as it was not light. She kept laughing and telling me to relax which made me less relaxed as I was trying. She also left when the doorbell rang to go help someone at the desk, for almost 5 minutes in the middle of my massage. I don't think I would come back because the whole experience was not relaxing for me, which is why I get massages. If you are going for hard pressure then I think you could still enjoy this place if you need that kind of thing. read more

This place is off the beaten path and hole in the wall location- if you are looking for a "spa" with fancy amenities- keep looking, but if you are looking for a quality massage, it hits the mark. We had two massages in the couples room by Bella and Billy (I think his name was Billy) - both my husband and I have had massages all over the country and thought they were some of the best ever. Relaxing but the right touch of deep tissue/therapeutic where needed. I felt amazing after. Definitely do 90 minutes to get the full experience!!! For the traveler staying close to airport looking for a deep pressure massage- ask for Tony. Very very reasonably priced, at $100 for 90 minutes! Open 7 days a week and open late even for walk-ins! I stayed in area five days for work and visited them 3 times. Was perfect therapy for my back injury after a long flight. Don't be confused when they ask you to run card first and then add tip when you leave, it's just how they run things. Very kind and sweet owners and worth every penny. Let me start by saying I get hour long foot massages in my home town frequently. This place is priced the same as others in the area, but still twice what I'm used to paying, however, on a business trip and needed a foot massage. You start in your own room with your feet soaking in a bucket, while sitting on an unprotected fabric chair. Not very sanitary in my opinion. There's a robe and men's sized sandals in the room, which makes me even more grossed out. She asked what pressure, soft, medium or hard. I said hard. She started and it was hard... for a minute. Then it was soft the rest of the time. There was no rhyme or reason to what she was doing. It was literally a foot massage where they just rub and stroke your feet so don't expect any type of reflexology. 10 mins on my left, 10 mins on my right, then 10 on the left again, and 10 on the right again. She had to keep getting up to get more lotion which was distracting, and all I could hear was the squeal of the stool she sat on and the clock going tick tock. No music could be heard so it was a little awkward. She did my back which was pretty decent. I wouldn't return and would pay the extra $10 and drive somewhere else. read more

Completely professional, friendly and helpful, she was able to answer all my questions, and put my mind and sore muscles at ease. She's a fire cupping ninja. Told me what to expect, and not to be disappointed my back looked like I'd fought off a large octopus and lived to tell the tale. She also knows how to throw down on the massage table when you ask for DEEP tissue. I mean there were muscles that my muscles didn't know they had, and those muscles had "knots" that they didn't even know existed until she found them and turned them into chopped liver. We accidentally booked our Valentines Couples massage at their sister location, Angel Spa on James Island and they STILL accommodated us and took us at the North Charleston location (which was convenient since it's 5 minutes away from home) even though they were very busy. My wife and I had a great experience with both masseuses, they focus on your problem areas and we both walked out feeling super refreshed and relaxed. The massage was very professional and quiet, not like some places where they have a conversation over you with their co-worker which can be very annoying. My partner was quoted a price for his massage and then during the massage was told he had to pay $10 more. At one point someone walked in, and the woman working on my partner simply left the room and started a conversation outside for about five minutes. Then she came back and resumed the work. I was asked if I wanted a 15 minute neck and back massage with a 45 minute foot massage rather than a one hour foot massage and I said yes. After working on my feet, the male service person working on me left, and the woman working on my partner said that we were done. I told her that I did not get my back and shoulder massage, which she should have figured out since she was in the same room. At first she was surprised, and asked me if I was sure. It's fairly easy to know when someone has massaged your back and shoulders and when he has not. Her next reply to me was that maybe I needed more work on my feet, and then she left the room. We generally tip very well. It was extremely difficult to leave even a 15% tip. But we did. I am hoping to save others from this very unprofessional business. If you do decide to go, you will pay upfront, which maybe should have been our first clue. There are so many other foot massage and reflexologists in the area. I would choose anyone of them but this one. In addition, I own a business. So what should've happened is that this business should have honored their first quote for the massage, and should have immediately offered me a back and shoulder massage for 15 minutes. Without a rental car, this place was walking distance from the hotel so we gave it a shot. We are now VERY happy we did!
