It was the most flavorful and seasoned food that I had in my entire trip to spain. However that's where the positives end. The place was packed! Multiple servers were overlapping in different sections and yet it took four attempts to get water, three attempts to get our check and uncounted attempts to get service. We asked one person for water. They wrote it down, said okay and then never came back. This happened four times. In the end, two individuals did end up bringing water to the table. One of them had the nerve to tell us that we should be asking the same server and not asking multiple people. I had to explain to him that the reason why we asked multiple people is because it took so incredibly long for it to come. And, we couldn't find our previous server because he disappeared to another section. They tried multiple times to use my card for payment. It kept saying error and the gentleman stated that it was due to issues with their wi-fi. When I asked him to just make sure that it didn't go through multiple times, he had such a nasty attitude. Two other tables experienced similar situations. One gentleman actually got into an argument with a staff member because he was waiting to pay his check for so long. I'm sure this place makes money. I'm sure the food has people coming back and it seems to be one of the better food options around. Perhaps they were overwhelmed that evening and this was an anomaly but based on my experience they do not know how to run an efficient restaurant when busy.

We're picky, new restaurants open and close every day in NYC. Mar a Vila should be in NYC!! Or at least they should open a location there or in Brooklyn. They definitely need to open more locations somewhere. This food is too good to be kept on such a tiny island, away from so many people!
