Although this salon is listed as natural hair care it may be mainly because of the products not because of knowledge related to hair texture or styles. I went in for a consultation two weeks before my actual appointment the stylist appeared knowledgeable but my results were less than desirable. I can say well after my appointment the dye job was perfect it has lasted longer than most applications. However, I showed a photo of the style I desired and I understand upfront my hair texture may not be the same as the person in the photo. But when you're chopping off your hair the cut should be close to the photo. It was a 'good' cut but, the thinning area on my sides were not considered when 'fading'. During my initial consultation the stylist said washing my hair will help to see the curl pattern it will help determine if I need twist or product for the desired look. None of that happened! My experience is really hard to explain I didn't get what I asked for but I was able to come home and work it out for myself. In the end I got a decent haircut and a good dye job so it wasn't a total bust. Would I go back or suggest this salon of 'natural hair care'? NOPE! read more

I don't let everyone do my brows, and have reluctantly floated around to different nail salons in the city trying to achieve a certain look. Unfortunately, most places are prone to over-plucking my thick brows, when most of the time I just want a subtle shaping or clean-up. Unfortunately, my requests most often get lost in translation. So, I was happy to see this place pop up in my Groupon search, and happier when I realized they are black-owned. I arrived on time, and waited in the car to be texted on when to come in. I appreciated them doing this for safety during this pandemic. Masks were worn and my temperature was also taken. I waited a bit long to be texted, but based on hearing her tell another customer they were running behind, I let that go. Everyone is adjusting to this new normal. Cortney did my brows and I think they came out looking great. I didn't even have to tell her to just do a soft arch and not overpluck them. I think she did one of the best jobs I have seen in years on these brows. I really can't overstate enough how frustrating it is how some of these salons just immediately go to taking off too much of my brow. Cortney was really pleasant, and I didn't have an issue getting an appt right away (no one answered the phone originally - so maybe they were overwhelmed). I think I'll return. I went for a dip powder mani and it was the WORST experience of my life. My nail tech was clearly not trained/licensed- she literally had no idea what she was doing. She kept stopping to finish her lunch, she used a filing board to manually file down my nails which resulted in it looking thick and lumpy and my skin bleeding by how rough she filed it... each nail was shaped differently.. and she didn't even bother to do my cuticles. I reach out to the salon multiple times to ask if they could fix/redo them because after 24 hours, all of my nails were chipping on the sides and the polish peeling off- this should never happen with dip powder. The salon never responded to me so I just removed them myself after three days because I was so embarrassed for anyone to see how my nails looked. On top of the subpar service, it took over 3+ hours to do and the salon wasn't even busy. Going to this salon was a complete waste of time and money. I'm pretty disappointed that this is a black owned business too, they should strive to do much better. read more

This salon is awesome!!! As soon as I stepped up to the door, I knew that I would like it because the state mandated safety precautions were posting in plain sight. My temperature was taken as soon as I stepped in. I filled out the necessary paperwork and was seated immediately. Maylasia braided my hair and I love it!!! She was quick and very neat with her work. If I could give this salon 0 stars, I would. I received passion twists from this studio and the entire process was rushed and the twists were even worse. My hair wasn't tucked at all and the braids ended up slipping within a few days. When I reached out to the owner asking for either some sort of refund or way to fix the poorly done hair her response was "passion twists aren't for everyone". I believe this salon would work for someone who does not care about their money or how their hair is done. It is unfortunate because the reviews seemed to be pretty good. Services I received: Silk Hair Wrap + Deep Conditioning + Trim on all natural hair. Total cost was $80 (with a special). The normal price is $85. Time of Appointment: 9:00AM Time I sat in chair to get hair washed: Almost 10 AM Time I left shop with services completed: Roughly 12:40PM The owner (Courtney- stylist who did my hair) was nice and for the most part professional. For a salon who promotes their natural hair services, I felt like she was extremely rough and not careful when blow-drying my hair. Being natural I am accustomed with my hair being sectioned and detangled patiently with a wide-tooth comb to avoid breakage. This was addressed but the stylist insisted the denman brush was better suited. I was not happy about that. I think the trim I received was fair. I wouldn't say she was "scissor happy". I have not washed my hair yet but I do not believe I have any heat damage from this visit. She did not go overboard with heat during the straightening process which is a big pro! I do not think the deep conditioning was worth the extra expense (for my hair anyway). The stylist arrived late and did not apologize nor address this. Although I understand things may happen but customer service is important and it would've been nice to hear this from her, especially with it being my first time at the salon. Overall I felt like I've received better results when getting my natural hair pressed. For example, shortly after leaving the salon I couldn't run my fingers thru my hair which was disappointing. It has been now 2 weeks and my hair isn't as straight as I would like. And yes, I wrap my hair every night. In my honest opinion I personally would not go back for any natural hair services because I was not fully satisfied, but perhaps for a protective hair style such as individual braids. I schedule an appointment for Wednesday at 12:45 online for a simple silk wrap with junior stylist. I got there around 12:40. Was told to have a seat she would be with me. Like 25 minutes later the stylist comes over ask me questions and tells me she finishing up with client. I said ok. That was the point I should have left. So let me first say my hair is probably not what she deals with regularly. It's fine, fluffy, and frizzy and it's unruly as ever. I'm going on vacation and since it's tropical the last thing I want to do is deal with that curly frizz mess. I asked her for two feed in braids and I got just that and more. Having been to another Delco brading shop that just went straight to braiding and sending me on my way; I was amazed that they took their time to shampoo me, massage my scalp with homemade oils (Cortney makes her own & they are the bomb!) And let my hair sit in the dryer to absorb all that moisture before starting my braids. They actually took care of my scalp and showed my hair some much needed love. Now for my braids... I won't ever be going anywhere else. She was meticulous and gentle. I don't have a sensitive scalp so pulling doesn't bother me but she really took her time to avoid yanking and getting the feed in hair tangled (I've experienced this at other places way too much). I wanted a few gold beads in the mix as well which they provide - they also provide the hair! Booking online is easy which is a lifesaver for a busy schedule. The whole staff is great. This review is way overdue! Last month, I visited Cortney to do my hair. I was going on a business trip to Houston, TX immediately before my vacation to the Bahamas (my life just sounded more fabulous than it actually is, lol...call it a fluke.) ANYWAY, Cortney did a great job. At first I thought she only did twists and locks but it turns out she does treated hair too. I'm the type of person who typically does there own hair and avoids heat so I'm always sceptical. Cortney pressed out my hair, but only went through each section of hair once and quickly. I was nervous because my hair is SUPER thick and I definitley didn't want puffy roots (hate that!!). However, when I looked in the mirror I was pleasently suprised that my roots were pressed straight and minimal heat was used!!! I also got pin curls and those held up all the way until the last day in the Bahamas. I was shocked and happy they held up in the Houston humidity so lasting throughout the Bahamas was an extra bonus. I had a groupon but did not experience any "groupon-shade." My only complaint is at the end she charged me $15 for a trim that I never requested nor did she ask if I wanted one. Clients heads were hanging in the basin for over thirty minutes. It was insane. I tried to explain to the owner that what she was doing was unprofessional but then realized that I was speaking with an idiot. I stopped my stylist because the work was terrible. Owner was very irate. The ignorance was pouring out of her mouth and shown through her demeanor. I called my bank and got my money back. Been here a few times. Shocked by the lack of professionalism in this place for the price they charge. It looks nice on the inside, but the stylists are usually late. I can be at the front for a while before anyone even greets me, if they do at all. Sometimes it takes as much as an hour before someone washes my hair even when I've made an appointment. They have wine sometimes, which is nice. But overall the environment is lacking. The quality of the services is okay. I will ask for a style in one color and they'll call me the day of and say they don't have that color. Don't trust the service times on their website either.
