Since then all of this has happened: 1. I've been told they've just "lost" my prescription on TWO separate occasions when I arrived to pick them up. No "sorry we can't find it" just "it's lost come back in a few days" in the absolute rudest tone and manner possible. 3. I went to pick up another prescription because it was supposed to be ready and she told me it wasn't in the computer and that "I DIDN'T EVEN TAKE THAT MEDICATION"!!! I said "yes I do, and it's supposed to be ready." She said "well then clearly you sent it to the wrong location" so then I checked the website and showed her it was the right location. So then she looks at the computer again and says "well it's not here you'll have to come back." I promptly received a text from Walgreens that the prescription was cancelled. 3. When I went back to pick up the same prescription after what happened in #2 above, she told me my order had been put back because I waited too long to pick it up. It had been 5 days since SHE cancelled it and told me I needed to come back (this was Xmas and I was out of town for a few days). She said that it had now been past time since the FIRST TIME I filled it and that's the date they went by. I was told I needed to come back AGAIN 3. For a separate prescription, I showed up because I got a text a day or two earlier that my prescription was ready, but the girl behind the counter said I WAS WRONG and it wouldn't be ready until the next day. I said "oh but see it shows on the site that it's ready and I got a text" and all I got in response was the rudest "NO" I have ever heard. Another cancellation text from Walgreens came through moments later. As ridiculous as it sounds, every time I went to this pharmacy it literally ruined my mood for the whole day. Avoid it and use any other pharmacy. I've since switched to a local pharmacy.

I know what makes a pharmacy good, mediocre, and bad. And Apthorp Pharmacy is great; I almost always work with Bill (one of the pharmacists) but the others are great as well. They have always been quick to compound my medication, without hassle and their pricing is very competitive. There are a lot of chain pharmacies out there most people don't even know independent pharmacies exist but it is worth seeking out Apthorp. There's just no good reason to goto a chain when you have Apthorp in the neighborhood; They even deliver to your house or work for no extra cost locally (or a small fee if you need to send via FedEx). If you have any questions the pharmacists are knowledgeable. They also respond quickly by SMS/text message, which I greatly appreciate. I've been going here since at least 2017 and the service has always been top notch (which is rare, especially in NYC, to get such consistently good service). While I was waiting to receive my vaccine, receiving the vaccine and waiting 15 minutes after to make sure everything was sitting right, the staff were so friendly and helpful when it came to the injection, next steps, and what they required for the first and second meetings. When you book your appointment with Apthorp to receive your COVID-19 vaccine make sure that you thoroughly read and follow the instructions on each of the emails they send.
